I’m sharing my experience as a brand designer and web designer and compare all the website builders I’ve used with my clients. I’m giving my honest review of Squarespace and Showit and share why I switched to Webflow for good. I’ll talk about the pros and cons, and what I ultimately think is the best website builder for designers wanting to build strategic and award-winning websites without coding experience needed.

I will agree with you 100% about the power of webflow. I have built $15k (yup... 3 zeros) sites with Webflow.
There are some problems with it from developer standpoints... Memberships as Logic have been major disappointments.
Hosting is expensive and not scaleable for people like me who also want to charge clients for hosting sites (with a service guarantee thrown in)... But there are some great stack services out there that can really help dial in your service provision and SEO performance of the site.
But overall, I come from a hand coded website background to a visual builder with Webflow who can turn around sites very quickly.

Yep, totally agree with you that Memberships and Logic haven't been helpful for me yet. Thankfully there are enough third party tools that get the job done in the instances where its needed. And for me, usually clients that are wanting custom solutions in the first place are fine with the added monthly subscriptions as they've built up a bit of an audience already. So glad you found it refreshing. That's my goal. Thanks for the kind words.
@@studiomadzWebflow APPS will change everything, but it won't curb the nickle-n-dime problem. Every plugin adds monthly cost. sigh. It's an expensive platform, but still the best to use in my opinion.

this was so valuable to me! I am currently trying to figure out which tool to use, because I want to step into webdesign for my own website and after that the ones of my clients and it makes so much sense now to invest time, energy and money into webflow 😊

I'm in :) I love your vibe and I definitely want to learn with you! I've been a web developer/designer for more than 20 years now. I started to develop custom websites when wordpress wasn't even a thing lol I'm a dinosaure of the industry lol But I'm tired of wordpress, I want to move to something more flexible visually, so I took all the lessons from Webflow University and pass the 3 exams, yay I'm certified. BUT I need to practice and I set out for myself to create my own redesign site on Webflow before the end of this year, let's see how that goes LOL Your videos are definitely motivating, thank you :)

The problem with Webflow, and Showit are that you have to convince the customers to switch and pay to Webflow, Showit, etc.

I was thinking of starting with Squarespace but now you’re kinda changing my mind. I have no code or design skills
Hey there! Haha fair question, but more videos are on the way I promise. That's awesome you want to dive into brand & web. Its a super rewarding career. If you've never built a website before, I do think there is value in starting with more of a DIY tool (like Squarespace or Wix) just to understand some basics of web design, responsiveness, design principles, etc. and be able to start creating sooner. You may outgrow it quickly and then feel ready for a truly custom option like Webflow. Totally depends on your goals and where you are starting from.

But changing one thing like a background video or a page in webflow and I'm stuck for an hour lol.
Its a learning curve for sure. But once you get the hang of it then things start moving way faster. It def takes practice & patience.
“No desire to learn” and you bring people to webflow? Come on.
Plus, Webflow definitely needs you to know and understand code even though you don’t use it.
When clients don’t have time to learn, and want a quick website, Webflow is their worst enemy.
When you change something on webflow, the whole site changes.
Squarespace is the literal opposite.
I do like Webflow a lot and for many reasons but your arguments are misleading.
Webflow is great for designers, not clients.
Definitely understand your POV, and you're right, it isn't the right fit for every client. But in my experience, it's all about how you build the site, and more importantly, how you teach it to them. My clients typically come from Squarespace and are looking for elevation in their website's creativity and functionality while also maintaining editability of the content & components on their site. And they've been super happy with the switch :)
