  • In today’s video I will be putting Hydroflow, a brand new casting compound by Elichem Resins to the test. I will use Hydroflow to cast egg cups for my breakfast platter project. Will Hydroflow pass the test? Well, all the resins I have tried from Elichem Resins have been top notch so I have high hopes!....

    I love those egg cups! Can't wait to use HydroFlow. Is it heat resistant and food safe by any chance?

    The egg cups turned out lovely. My only question is whether the sealant is food and heat safe. Thanks for sharing .👏🏼👏🏼🌸🌸

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  Před 3 lety +2

      Now that is something I over looked! Excellent question, as far as heat goes, ours have been used without a problem from heat - they hand wash well too. Vallejo do pride themselves for having one of the safest varnishes on the market and they say it is non toxic but If you want to be completely sure about a food safe sealant I would recommend beeswax.

      @@LouiseSingletonCreations thanks Louise for getting back to me. We don’t get Jesmonite in the US but hydro flow is available here. I am going to use it one of these days.

    do you need to seal them with a food-safe varnish?

    So food safe both the hydro low and varnish?

  • @bobiijae790
    @bobiijae790 Před 2 lety

    They don't sell hydro flow in the US? Do you know of one that is food safe and similar to what you used in this video of her people in the US I mean it's not a big deal if you don't I can just look it up I suppose but I do like trying the resins and silicone rubber products I see in the CZcams videos I try cuz I like to get a couple different ones and test them and see which ones work best for me and the temperature of my home which is usually about 70°, but one of our bathrooms has a radiator heater in it, actually our whole house has radiator heaters, my point is the bathroom is smaller and it gets real warm about 75 in there so I usually put our finish projects are epoxy resin projects right in there

      An alternative I would recommend is a very strong plaster , I use stonecast by Mouldmaster sometimes. It’s much cheaper with similar effects you can purchase polymer additives to use with plaster which would make it more like Jesmonite. Plaster is very good but doesn’t take pigment as well as an acrylic based compound would.

    Hi how long do you mix for ?

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  Před 2 lety

      If I’m honest, I don’t time the mixing I just mix until it’s really smooth which I guess would be around two minutes.
