Yes you should totally be able to customize your own brand new boat and even the small complaints make sense, if Tracker boats is watching this video, please pay attention and make changes to the boat to give better customer experience and overall gain more customers and positive feedback. You get what you pay for man. I have the exact boat and guess what, I use rod covers. I don't go from full throttle to neutral in one jerk so no water into the back of the boat. I've upgraded my trolling motor to a 70lb and it made a huge difference. Tracker makes these boats to get people on the water and fishing who can't afford $60-80k bass boats. You can easily replace the skids on the trailer, not hard at all.

    To help you out with number 6. I have a 195 and what I do is when you’re coming to a stop shift it into neutral then go back to forward to push the boat forward a little. You’ll completely miss the wake coming back to the boat and the back of the boat will be dry

      @@PhilosophyDaily I was about to make the same suggestion haha. You don't even have to go into neutral, when you're coming to a stop and you feel the boat kind of sitting back down into the water just bump the throttle a little bit and that will keep the water from washing up into the boat. Thats actually a thing almost all boats do, not just your tracker.

    I bought an 08 PT175 TXW last year and your right, 45lbs is way under powered for that boat. Granted it HAD the original Motorguide POS on it which has been upgraded to a Minn Kota Terrova 55lbs thrust. 10 more lbs and more efficient prop design made a huge difference. Since mine is an 08 I don't have the inset pedal which makes me happy. My only complaint is the stitching in the seats rotted out. Probably due to lack of care from the previous owner. It's one of BPS best sellers for it's price point. Limiting the options on it keeps the price down. I bought it used instead of dumping a ton of cash on a new one because they last. You can catch just as many fish on a tracker vs. a $50k boat. The boat doesn't catch the fish...

    I have a 2020 Tracker 175 TXW tournament edition, you are spot on about the bunks on the trailer. The boat and engine have 9 hours of run time. I have already had to replace the bunk boards on the trailer, they literally rotted and fell into pieces, but on a good note they are very easy to replace and a good quality marine bunk padding is not very much money, I spent like $150 on new treated boards and new bunk padding, took about two hours and I was finished. Good video man.

    10- 80% of the seat videos I see are about the posts not coming out easily. Maybe something you should check ever time you take the boat out. 9- Adjust your seat post to get the proper leg bend. I like standing up and leaning against the seat. sounds like a personal preference thing. 8- Check your battery strength. Lights were fine on my 175txw and are on my current Targa v19. 7- Agreed. Took mine out and use rod socks. 6- Slow down more gradually. Operator error dude, lol. 5- Think your beating up the boat up. Looks like dock rash. Haven't had any paint issues in 4 years of tracker ownership. 4- Agreed. might be cause by your instant stops, see number #6. 3- Agreed Upgrade required. needs a 70lb or higher thrust but you bought a cheaper boat so spend to upgrade. 2- Agreed. Although treated lumber and aluminum don't mix. so replace with composite. 1- untrue. It may not be an option on their ordering website but you can buy and have them install anything you like.I had 4 lithium batteries, a different 4 bank battery charger, a Garmin graph, A Force trolling motor, all of which they installed prior to me picking up the boat. You whining about a lot of BS in my opinion.

  • @toddknox685
    @toddknox685 Před 4 lety +4

    A couple of things: You had to hit something to get those scratches besides trees. Lots of docks have barnacles that really mess up the side of a boat. There shouldn't be leakage into a live well unless a inlet hose or outlet hose has a hole or tear in it or the exit is not sealed well. Better find out why. As I recall, the boat you show has a pump out live well, and it doesn't completely pump out all the water. As for the trolling motor and the pedal, it came that way so either upgrade or live with it. You should have sat in the boat before you bought it. There a lot of quality boats that have the problem of water coming over the transom and it is usually because of a sudden stop. And by the by, if you notice other boats on the water you will see that the tracker sits really low in the back and really high in the front. Why? I can't imagine. My G3 doesn't and that is one reason I picked it over the Tracker. As for the rest, you know what Boat means, right? Break Out Another Thousand. I've had my G3 for 13 years now and have I been trouble free? NO, not at all. Trailer lights for one. Trolling motor blew the fuses a couple of times. Simple repairs actually. My boat came with a 40 lb thrust and has been adequate is not more than adequate. That all depends on the battery. If you are not recharging after every trip, or the battery is a few years old it will not be up to speed. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. It is a full time job if you do it right and you'll have to! A Tracker, G3 or any boat in this price range allows you to get into fishing and allows you to upgrade when you have the funds. I've seen a lot of 50 thousand dollar boats that look like someone has literally beat them to death and do not perform as well as a Tracker. Let's just hope you will just enjoy fishing and realize that the boat lives in the harshest of environments and needs a little care when used and a lots of maintenance. I've scratched mine some trying my best not too. Driving it up on a gravel shore did me not good, letting it rest against the barnacled dock was a real mistake. Hey, touch it up and fish on! If it's running fine in 10 years and the trailer is holding it up, you've got a great boat. Changing the bunks is no big deal. There are three or four good videos of how to do that on You Tube. Measure your boards, go to Lowe's or a lumber yard and get the two by fours cut to the proper length, get 'em treated if you want or not. Get the carpet you want, a staple gun with staples, galvanized screws and a drill, etc. Wrap the boards at home, leave the bottom unwrapped so the water will drain and dry faster. Go to lake, launch the boat so you can get to the boards and take off the old boards and put on the new. Heck, if it takes you an hour I'll be surprised. There are two theories about using treated and non treated boards. I use non treated. I don't wrap the bottom of the boards because fully wrapped boards trap the water and it takes a long time for them to dry. A good seasoned two by four will drain and last a really long time. Witness the fact that fences put around the yards have two by fours holding up the fences and unless termites or ants get to them they will be there for 10 years sitting in the rain, snow, sun. That's my story.

    Bass trackers are a great beginner boat say what you want about the price 20-30k for a brand new boat is cheap compared to the new boats in todays time and as far as the lights go you can change the bulbs in them very easily and you can get brighter bulbs or even whole new poles for lighting and i somewhat agree on the ass end taking on water i have a 2014 190 it pissed me off the first time i did it but now i just time it right when you let off and your wake pushes you up just time it right and give the motor some throttle and push away from it quickly and it should fix it from splashing inside your boat if your timing is right! The live wells taking on water doesnt bother me it emptys water as soon as you take off if your valves are open. I agree with the trolling motor and placement of the pedal im 6’2 and pretty hefty i hate where the pedal sits but. Like i said its a mass produced cheaper boat what can ya do... also with the trailer boards. Treated lumber wont last much longer either tbh but its not too hard just figure out how long your new 2x4s need to be and get two of them and before you take the boat out id use carpet instead of felt. It does the same exact thing it just keeps you from scratching the bottom of your boat but carpet will last 2 times longer but before you get your boat off the trailer just carpet those boards and go fishing have your dad take the trailer home or you take the trailer home and it shouldnt take but a few minutes to take the old boards off and put some new boards on.

    Treated wood can cause corrosion on aluminum. It reacts to the treatment in the wood. Especially when it gets wet. I know this because I recently bought an old bass tracker. The decking and flooring was replaced with treated wood. When I removed it all. It was waterlogged underneath and where the wood touched to aluminum there was a lot of corrosion. So much that there were pin holes all the way through the boat. Long story short. It is better to buy untreated wood, paint it thoroughly, then wrap it with carpet of your choosing.

    Bass Trackers are literally the cheapest bass boats on the market that have all of the features people normally add on to their jon boats. If you want to use a Bass Tracker effectively, you have to upgrade practically everything. You get what you pay for. Trackers are effectively the Tahoe of bass boats.

    I upgraded the motor, trolling motor (24V, 80Lb) and electronics (Hummin Bird Helix 10) before I picked it up. Of course, Bass pro tried to rip me off by saying that I couldn't have the items I upgraded. The big motor I understand because it came in the base package, however the trolling motor and electronics didn't. I paid for them in the package of the boat. After a few heated conversations with Bass Pro folks and phone calls to Tracker, I got them back.

    So rod locker problem? Use good sleeves. The lighting problem...change it. The problem of water coming up on the boat...learn how trim comes in handy to stop that. It’s an aluminum boat so just fix it and it will last for ever. The trolling motor is a give me type thing “you bought a boat so this is what it has”...upgrade it. Dude stop whining about everything you took years to make a list of. Boats are money pits if you fished every day you’d have a “top 30 problems” get over it and maintain the boat and upgrade the boat before you say anything towards downing the boat.

      @@PhilosophyDaily its a low end boat, if you're gonna get a tracker, get a good one thats used. That way you have the money to put into customs, and upgrades that YOU prefer. If you want a new boat, then get a boat thats worth that 20,000 price and has the things you are looking for my dude. To be blunt, it seems like you didnt do enough reserch, and just jumped on the first boat you saw. I know this, because I did the same thing when I went out and bought my first car. I saved 22grand from when I was 16 and worked till I was 18 and bought a new 2016 subaru impreza with cash in hand in 2017. Now that im looking for a boat I kinda regret getting a small sedan, and would rather havr gotten an suv or small pickup with good milage. With boats, I know, and are well aware of the issues, growing up fishing on my fathers vessles, and now that im looking for one of my own. Im still doing reserch even though most would assume I'd know whats the right boat to get from the start. But in the end, it seems youre stuck with what you got. Yes upgrading a new boat to your liking sucks but thats just what happens. I can say, you showed some good points, such as the seats losening up, and the lights are a safety issue, but the light is pretty fixable. Just aknowledging that problem is good for others who maybe content on getting one of these boats; so consumers could be aware of the lights being a bit too dim and having to upgrade from the start, if they plan on going out at night. The fact that I can't customize the boat at the dealership is ridiculous. For example, if I got a 175 TXW, I would want to upgrade the electronics and the trolling motor. When I went in and asked them about doing that, the response was that I could buy the upgraded components and then install them at my own cost. Then I would still be stuck with the new electronics and motor that was on the boat. Just stupid that I can't trade those original components for the upgraded trolling motor and electronics. I'm looking at other brands because of this.

    Welcome to boat ownership. These complaints come with any boat. IMO, I have the Tracker classic and also have an 87 Tracker tournament TX and don’t have these complaints. BOAT stand for Bust Out Another Thousand. Number 6 happens because you slam the engine down from higher speeds. Water comes into the back of any boat i ever been in or have when that is done. You have to gradually slow down. I have a minn kota terrova 55 on my classic and it does really well in the wind. I rarely use any stock trolling motor on the boat. Should have upgraded when you bought it. That complaint, imo, is your fault because you bought an undersized trolling motor with your boat. Paint chips? Hah? That’s going to happen, unless you trying to win show trophies, I would not be complaining about that. It’s going to happen with any boat. I have been around boats for 28 years. Rods bending in tubes? You put more stress on a rod pulling and jerking it while fishing than what damage a tube is going to do. Welcome. Only see really one or two complaints that even can remotely be considered. All the rest of the are just normal boat ownership and how you handle it.

I believe most real boaters know that you should slow down gradually to avoid a "transom rush". ( I also have a 36" Baja Outlaw with two Merc 700hp racing motors and would NEVER think of just shutting down after an 80 - 100 mph run. Problem solved). #3 - water in livewell . I also experienced this issue. I tightened the drain plug, closed the fill valve tight and plugged the drain hole at transom and the dash switch is turned OFF! #4 - Trailer issues - just an FYI, Tractor does not build trailers. The opinions you mentioned are typicall offered at higher-end trailers.Again, I do not mean to be offensive or a smart ass. I bought my best tracker brand new in 2002 special edition 175xt I still have it to This Day 2020 and most of the years it's been sitting outside well covered and Shrink right they must be used or I know they use treated lumber then compared to now cuz I replace them and it was treated. You're right about the foot pedal being too close to the seat and I can't move the seat bag as far as I know and less I would take the carpet up pull the plate up and move the whole back but then my boxes there
    I know you're wise I have a 60/40 jet I don't know if I can go any higher without a Jack Plate if they can do it
    Mine has no paint on it that's all aluminum...good
    They give you them trolling motors at 43 45-pound thrust so you have to upgrade that's what they do like most companies with other things they know you're going to upgrade so you're going to buy it and still pay a lot for a new one cuz you can only go so far then you got to go to 24 volt... but my boat is running great actually the rug is still good but I'm replacing it it has it ripped it ain't coming up and I'm very surprised but you have some good points in your video
