What are ADC and DAC?
ADC stands for Analog to Digital Converter, which converts the analog signal into the digital signal.
DAC stands for Digital to Analog Converter and it converts the Digital signal into an analog signal.
ADC and DAC are an essential part of our life and by some or other way we are using in our day to day life.
Why we use ADC and DAC?
Most of the naturally occurring signals are analog in nature. The analog signals are susceptible to noise and difficult to store and process.
And the digital domain, it is easy to store and process these signals.
That's why for storage and processing signals are converted into digital form and it is retrieved using DAC.
Steps involved for the analog to digital conversion:
1. Sampling
2. Quantization
3. Encoding
In this video, each step is explained briefly and how the error is introduced during the process is also explained.
Important parameters for ADC and DAC
1. Resolution
2. Reference Voltage
3. Conversion and/or settling time
4. Gain and Offset Error
5. Non-linearity (Differential and Integral Non-linearity)
6. Accuracy
7. Total Harmonic Distortion (For DAC)
Types of ADC :
1. Flash ADC
2. Dual Slope ADC
3. Successive Approximation Type ADC (SAR)
4. Sigma-Delta ADC
Types of DAC:
1. Binary Weighted Resistor Type DAC
2. R-2R ladder Type DAC
This video will be helpful to everyone in understanding the basics of ADC and DAC (What is ADC and DAC, How it Works and Important Parameters of ADC and DAC).

thanks a lot, very useul content
Thank you so much sir!!!
I was waiting for it!
Are bhai bhai bhai
Even when you shift the TF function to the left. The quantization error is still 1LSB as the resolution isn't changed and the smallest voltage that will be detected is still 1LSB.
Yeah... But The Continuously increasing or decreasing input signal is detected if it continuously increases or decreases by +0.5 or -0.5 which is better than detecting if it continuously increases or decreases by +1 or -1
This Was Very helpful
Impressive video, and wonderful explanation

Excellent 👌
"The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz & Hill has a good chapter on ADC/DACs.
It has good chapters on all kinds of electronics.
"Hey friends" 😃😃 good start bro
Then what to do if i take input of spwm signal and just split it in 2 different output respect to frequency.
Thank You for sharing sir

can we use any other device in place of ADCs and DACs for converting analog signal to digital signal and as well as from digital to analog signal?
Duude why are you talking like a robot 🤖
Great tutorial btw
Please consider one Live example . Like 12.3V and explain how this voltage converted into digital
good explanation

Regarding hi res audio...if the signal passes from digital to analog in high quality (flac 24 bit/96 khz), then from analog to digital, and then from digital to analog. will the queality of the signal be the same/better?. Digital audio player with its DAC - ADC - DAC/ AMP.? I wanto to use a DAP as audio source that can play lossles formats in hi res (24 bit/192 khz), and use other DAC of other divice that sounds better. The DAP doesn't have a digital audio output. So I want to conect the DAP to ADC and then the ADC to a DAC/AMP and get the best possible soumd coming from last DAC and the high resolution format (24bit/96khz).
Very informative 👌👍
I really love the way how you explain those stuff and how you present it, but I really think you should finally get a new microphone
Thanks
Thank you sir

Thankyou man
Please make a video on sequential circuits
thanks a lot
could you please what is the maximum frequency? is it the same as bandwidth? thank you in advance! great video!!
Sir i didn't get use of sample and hold circuit in this process
Plz understand it more clearly
Hello,
Can your videos be used for sharing for academic purposes?
if we increasing the bit then resolution decreases ig because when we take No of bits = 3 and FSR =10, resolution = 1.25V when we take No of bits =8 and FSR=10 , resolution= 0.039V where Resolution decreases in this case
Yes, that’s true that the minimum voltage that can be resolved by the ADC reduces, but in a way it’s resolving power increases and typically the adc with higher resolving capacity are said to be high resolution adc. I hope, it will clear your doubt.

How you convert ADC to AOC?
I find it ironic that a channel that focuses on electronics always has its audio boosted to to the point that it is always clipping and horribly distorted.... please speak softer or turn the gain on your microphone down a bit
If you got any problem go learn from some paid courses.....he's teaching here for free and you're whining like a kid about something that isn't even that relevant
@@leviackerman8702
I think it's a constructive criticism
Constructive criticism doesn't work when you're rude.
See the problem here is this channel's videos are often referenced in the paid course that I am indeed taking. It gets really frustrating when you're trying to prepare for exams when you're really pressed for time and just looking for a to the point and easy explanation of something and then all you can find is videos that are actually really unpleasant to listen to... we all have things that get to us. For some of us, that's audio like this. Furthermore, regarding the paid courses, CZcams does pay, most content creators aren't doing it for charity, and I dont think asking someone to turn their gain down a bit is too much to ask for considering its such an easy thing to do.
At RX chain, we use the ADC, not the DAC. Is this a typo in 1.20s?
Pliz upload for the ISFET theory and explanation
Good one thanks alot and better if you had some added practical or simulation methods too.
Yes, I am planning, and if possible, I will add it in the future videos of ADC and DAC.
Sir can you please tell me which board software you are using...
pls tell me that how adc and dac are connected in the circuit and what are the process which the signal has to undergo in case of conversion from analog to digital and as well as from digital to analog. One more thing what is the structure of these ADCs and DACs and can we enhance the conversion process by using another device other than ADCs and DACs?
Please go through the ADC and DAC playlist. You will get it. There are different types of ADCs and DAC. Different types are explained in detail.
Hi !!! could you suggest me an integrated instrumentation amplifier and analog to digital converter. ?
Hi, If I get across such integrated IC, I will definitely recommend you. But meanwhile you can go through this article. Which might be helpful to you in interfacing instrumentation amplifier with ADC.

PRESSURE SENSOR: SHNIEDRER BRAND XMLR010G0T75 0-10VOLTAGE , 0-10 BAR
At present I have stored motor name plate details to VFD and at present the system runs @ 0 to 3.7 Bar
Now , Please let me know how I can do the scaling from 0-10 Bar to 1.1- 3.4 Bar permanently.
We put the scaling parameter P-35=700% and Offset parameter P-39=70
At this stage we closed the discharge valve. The pump started from 0 bar and reached to 3.7 Bar and stopped the pump as per the delay time.
Then we opened the discharge valve and since the pressure reached to 0 Bar, pump started. After we close the valve. But the pressure reached only up to 2.7 Bar and pump runs continuously even when valve closed full and didn’t reached to 3.7 bar.
How can we analyze the pump start and stop by setting parameter P-35 and P-39, is there any equation or like that
Ok so, i after e, except before c?
Nice

In Tocci's book he defined resolution =Vref/((2^n)-1)
in analoge to digital conversion what is mean bt sampling?is it basically quntization in horizontal direction
The first step during the digitization is sampling. The signal in time domain is continuous. We are doing the digitization at the discrete intervals. Using sample and hold circuit, we are sampling the input signal at the discrete interval. After the sampling, the next step is the quantization.
In the condition fs>2fo
A square signal is used so, is the explanation is same for the sinusoidal signal
Yes
Ok

Yes, in fact, the entire playlist of ADC and DAC will be useful for the GATE.
Resolution is Vfs/(2^n -1) right??
Yes

What is the DAC's role in construction of A to D converters?Pls can anyone answer this question
If you follow the playlist on ADC and DAC, then I have covered it. e.g if you take the case of counter type ADC, then in the construction it also uses the DAC.

Your 38k th subcriber was me. And today you have 129k
Who?
first sampling or Quantization according to my understanding its quantization first.?
The first step is sampling. Without sampling the input signal, it is not possible to perform the quantization.
Sir since sine wave is analog in nature and square wave is digital
So while explaininig adc for anti aliasing filter why had you taken square wave
Square wave can be digital and also analog . Try googling "is square wave ac or dc"
Sir what do you mean by harmonics at 11.20.
If you are aware of the Fourier series of the square wave, then it contains the fundamental frequency fo as well as the multiple of fo (Harmonics).
I was referring to those harmonics.
