We continue in the north of Spain, this time we approach the capital of the autonomous community of Cantabria, Santander, which welcomes us on a cool spring morning in which we can see how the city is starting up. Obligatory visits to its spectacular Magdalena Palace, its port area as well as the Sardinero area with its beach, its leisure and sports areas to finish in the oldest and most stately part.
Santander is one of the most elegant and beautiful cities on the north coast of Spain and the ideal destination to organize a trip. Both the sea and the mountains are present in this city that conquers visitors for its stately atmosphere, its nineteenth-century buildings, its charming terraces or for its spectacular bay, recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world.
Few cities can boast of including in their urban surroundings a dozen beaches with such diverse characteristics and, at the same time, so attractive: familiar, secluded, distinguished and sporty: Los Peligros, La Magdalena, Bikini, El Camello, the beaches of El Sardinero, Los Molinucos, Mataleñas and La Maruca. All willing to give the best of themselves both during the summer and on the mild days of winter or fall. Its elegant promenades and avenues (Pereda, Castelar or Reina Victoria) offer visitors the charm of a city that has known how to combine tradition and modernity, where nature is the protagonist of any space.
Along with it, there is a rich and varied cultural and artistic heritage to enjoy every day of the year. However, two events have marked the cultural evolution of Santander in recent decades: the Menéndez Pelayo International University and the Santander International Festival, events of great significance that have projected the image of the city outside our borders. All these qualities that, along with many others (unique settings and an important hotel offer), have managed to place the Cantabrian capital as one of the preferred destinations in Spain for the organization of all kinds of professional, social or sporting events.

Hi, visited Santander in September 2019, stayed there 5 days, a great city to visit, unfortunately a little underestimated between tourists, like most of North Spain. There are a lot of things to see there, in the city and its beautiful surroundings. Thanks for sharing this drive and bringing up good memories.

It seems like Santander is quite a nice place in Spain. There are a hundreds of blocks of flats everywhere. They're beautiful buildings, just like in Hong Kong as well as in Berlin, even the rest of the cities in Spain.

My ex Spanish girlfriend was from Santander and I was lucky enough to holiday and visit there a number of times over the years and the whole of Cantabria , one of the best Cities In Spain, people friendly,food fantastic, clean just a lovely place. Hope to visit there again one day and would highly recommend to anybody,all of Cantabria amazing.

Someone on the Spain tourism Facebook page compared it to Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast in the UK! I visited way back in 2000 & camped up by the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse.
I have been watching videos about Scarborough and it really looks quite similar ... if you think about it they are not that far from each other ... but I prefer the climate of Santander🥰🥰🥰 , greetings!!

Esta muy bien pero al palacio de la magdalena no está abierto al tráfico excepto policía trabajadores del palacio y el resto de las dependencias tanbien ambulancia bomberos taxi peatonal y bicicletas y autoridades y ademas solo invitados para bodas civiles en el Palacio me da que usted tenía un permiso especial para hacer la publicación se lo cuento porque soy de santander
Efectivamente Borja, no es accesible al publico en general excepto permisos municipales, en este caso tenia uno y fui un privilegiado, saludos!
