- Racism is a reality which unfortunately plagues many of our institutions including the NHS! This video covers only a small portion of the problems that are involved.
If you found this video eye opening and educational check out my youtube channel for more! I have started a series called ‘Let’s talk’ where I will be addressing important issues affecting minority and marginalised groups. If you have any suggestions about topics I should talk about let me know in the comment section!

Simply fran finally makes her appearance on the studytube project. I loved this video. It’s so sad how the very same people who fight everyday to save us and improve our health are those who we discriminate against
100% agree! Working conditions for NHS staff as it is isn’t great so to see the added effects of discrimination and abuse in the work place is distressing.
Thankyou so much for the support also❤️
well deserved to control you lot
it is despicable that people can be racist against the people who are trying to save them
It’s so sad!!
its good to make sure you lot dont get too giddy
🎀I read a case where some ethnic Dr’s had to save this patient’s life, when they cut open his top. They saw his whole body covered in swatikas. The Dr was even saying that him and his team knew that had the roles been reversed he knew that the patient who would have been a white Dr. Would not have gone to such extreme lengths to save their lives. If they needed their help. Which lead me to thinking that there must be quite a few racist Dr’s out there who ignore their “Hippocratic Oath.”🎀
@@autumnhomer9786 'Quite a few' LOL 99% are Racists.
such an important topic things must change!!
💯💯❤️
This video was super informative and interesting, I'm going to be exploring this topic in my upcoming podcast and will be plugging this video on my insta!
Thank you so much for this extremely enlightening video, I've learned so much.
Great video the institutional racism in the NHS needs to be spoken about more
This was really informative - needs more views!
Those statistics about covid 19 are so shocking and upsetting😨hope more people learn about this
Talking about institutional racism while using racialised language . What do you mean by ethnic sounding names
Such an important video. I’d love to learn more
So true! In this video I only scrapped the surface of the overall picture. I’ll definitely be doing more research into this aswell xx
Thank you so much for this educational video, especially for all of your supporting statistics! Xx
Thank you Fran, very informative!
so informative and well explained!! queen!
Thankyou ❤️❤️
queen of gap between teeth
Just because we are black doesn't mean we are not human, preach it girl !!!
Simply Fran. I absolutely love your channel
Thankyou ❤️❤️
Loved this Fran!
Thankyou xxx
Sometimes i really wonder if you peple think??? women are not paid less because that's illegal. They are not reprisented in high paying fields such as surgery. Now if you become a surgeon and get paid less that's probably some racisim sexist, but if you chose paediatric medicine or gynacology or some low paying medical field, which (are over reprisented by women) then dont' complain. Damn this whole video made me cringe with so many inaccuarcies
👍👍👍
*Great video. I suffered aggression from carribbean and Indian clinicians. African and Arab clinicians were the most civilised and helpful.*
I’m going to make a reaction video to this
🤩personally I feel that we are all different we behave ( educated especially ) as tho by insulting each other to prove that we are more ‘animal’
What is your channel ? you did not mention it in the description. Very informative video thank you
I think her channel is : Simply Fran
@@creatorsdaughter521 thank you
It is unacceptable that the course of one’s career and life outcomes can be so covertly determined by one person’s/ typically a small group of people’s subjective opinion of an individual rather than their aptitude.
Racism costs the NHS hundreds of thousands of pounds through failure to work collaboratively, taking full advantage of the skills and expertise of foreign contractors who take on NHS organisations in good faith as clients. Egos too often take precedence over and above the health outcomes of patients.
queen
Thanks Leah 🥰
Only black people call themselves queen. Where is the crown and kingdom? It’s just so ingrained language…
I just feel so bad for poc having to be the ones to explain and educate us on our *own* wrong doings
Like?!
It's embarrassing we should really be better than this
brave girl! well done!
Racism is rife in uk It has know boundaries, From work sectors, Sports, Socializing, Your judged on the color of your skin 1st. Not many black people understand how white supremacy works. Everytime we discuss race where told as black people its a thing of the past. But clearly institutional racism is rife in uk.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
You are going to be a Doctor within NHS?
Might I suggest trying to set up private practice after your internship and residency (or the English versions thereof)?
I'm sorry to make that suggestion but I understand that the NHS is institutionally quite racist .
I don’t know, I’ve never had that experience. Maybe it’s exclusive to medicine and nursing ?
As much as I appreciate the NHS and believe they deserve a lot more than they get, you were spot on here. The NHS is great but these issues need to be recognised
But only 54% of NHS medical personnel are white lol.
@@torinjones3221 That doesn’t mean racism can’t exist within these sectors.
Literally just seen over 400+ posts /comments of africans daying they dif their relatives qualifications and paper work.
Noone thinks black people can take more pain.. Where have you read that or ever heard someone saying that? Especially in the medical profession. The Doctor would be ridiculed. Black women are losing more babies due to less pain medication? Where are you learning this? Black women have higher rates of the risk factors associated with pregnancy loss. Diabetes, tobacco use, obesity, and low socioeconomic status. It is the case. Do you think these things will contribute to the stats? By not acknowledging this you are being deliberately miss-leading. I was with you on the biases. There needs to be an anonymous CV system but I think you should take more care with your claims. Can you imagine if someone believes everything you have said they will think there is literally a genocide taking place on Black women in hospitals. What might someone do if they truly believe this. I get what you are trying to do but the ends do not justify the means as this kind if rhetoric creates more animosity and division between races.
So are you telling us that as part of your medical training you are being tought that black people have a higher resistance to pain??? NO ....thought not! Every example you give is
*When will we talk about prejudiced and hateful Indian male female GPs?*
If you treat patients with contempt then you'll get it back, it's not racism, grow up.
Shut up! Probably never worked in healthcare or if you have you're a racist bully
She's not talking about treating patients bad, she talking about racism being directed at POC.
Stop wearing your slavery on your sleeves and playing the victim.
The people where I live just get on with life and I never hear them tell me they are victims of racism, in fact quite the opposite.
First rule is you stop seeing yourself as 'black' and rather just another human being like the rest of us.
🌷That is easily said then done. Akala who is mixed-race, stated that he never thought about colour growing up until as a child. He was searched by a police officer who put a gun in his face and called him the,”N word.” When the officer heard his English accent he then told him that he had thought he was a foreigner. And despite also finding out that they had searched the wrong person, there was no apology to the fact that a gun was held in his face. This incident opened his eyes to racism.🌷
🌷A lot of ethnic people and mixed-race people can’t live the fairytale luxury of existing in a world, where race doesn’t matter.🌷
@@autumnhomer9786 was that in England? I only ask because it's well known English police do not carry guns. So ya know, it would be good to be telling the truth. Lies are disgusting.
You should think about being a Medical TV expert or presenter.
clearly you are very inforned here.
just my two cents.
I grew up blind. I am a white heterosexual christian MALE. I am constantly being told I am a ISM or PHOBIC and this video does make me think!!!! BUT the constant commands that I must accept sexual preference, religious beliefs and ethnic background has changed me. I am a person not a ISM or PHOBIC and I will not be harassed by LBGTQ, None Christian's and Ethnic Minorities. Change the story about why you did not get a break! Listen to yourselves, if a white person stood before you complaining about living in poverty without money and hungry putting it down to poor education, living in a drug infested council estate and not being English would you give them a job or say.
" No thank you I don't want people who bitch and complain all the time"
I saw people Not Black, Perverts or None Beleivers but now I see obnoxious complainers.
Exactly. As a bisexual man, I can vouch for this. It's all about narrative. The statistics that she used at the start of the video to justify the existence of institutional racism have been affected by other factors. For example, there was a counter study that gives evidence for people being discriminated against on the basis of their name being a typical working class name. These statistics have been poorly put together and anyone who isn't indoctrinated by this social justice warrior nonsense would see that. Racism does exist, but it is not inherent. It is taught. We need to stop blaming everyone else for our own problems.
@@takayu4340 Yes, working class whites are also discriminated, which black person denies this? Working class blacks and whites are both being oppressed, black people more due to skin colour. So it's a class problem but guess what? A lot more black people are poor because most western governments and through implicit bias also the citizens oppress minorities whether consciously or unconsciously. Black people have no problem with working class whites. It is the working class white people that are used as a tool by the elite who know that working class white people are happy to turn on ethnic minorities, against their own interests, as at least this means they are not at the bottom of the pile.
Interesting video but sadly lacking in evidence or facts to support any of your arguments.
Not another
ikr, this blm movement is disgraceful esepcailly during this pandemic, smh
@@SlowZy-yc9to so tru it's like thanks more cases
Nat shut up
Nat yikes wdym not during this pandemic lol racism doesn’t care about a pandemic
She’s TRYING to make a change but ADDING to the problem. Talking about what you don’t understand is so cringe… Oxford student or not!!! She should listen to what Candace Owen has to say on BLM
