I'm so glad they're back. One of the best, most transcendent bands of all time. Not to mention Nils is one of the most ceaselessly entertaining frontmen of all time. He and the rest of the band just breathe hilarious stage banter--which is a great way of bouncing back from the intensity of so many of their songs.
I just hope I can get a copy of the newest on CD. Good for SGM, it appears to have sold out pretty damned quickly.

Thanks for filming+posting. Saw them in phx, and it was spectacular. 22 years after the last time!(I've had the flyer from that show on a bulletin board all these years, hoping to see them one more time). They've gotten even better. The ending of the show with the kids was magic. Hope they keep it going a while...

'thank you' doesn't quite cover my appreciation. a friend and I flew out from texas and were on the railing to your left... so glad to be able to re-live the moment from almost the same spot. Of the 7.5 shows we caught this tour, Berkeley was my #2 favorite just behind Dallas (where they introduced the Von Trapp routine for FC).

yes you were... i loved the band of hooligans and ne'er-do-wells who traveled the great state. As wonderful as this show was... and Kitka was a next level addition... that the Von Trapp family inclusion for Freedom Club in Dallas made that one just a bit better in that it was completely unexpected.

Sadly, I missed SGM on their breakup tour 10 years ago because my dumbass didn't call in sick for work and I can't believe they came back and finally released the album and soon the short film. They were a treat to finally see live. I absolutely have always loved their completely analog sound. Watching them do it now, reminds me of bands from the 90s that always made their own instruments or used the environment. Not a synthesizer was used for them. Cassette Prophet right before them, were also super cool! My fiance had only been introduced a short time before, but she fell in love!
Heres to hoping to future albums and tours, sadly moving out of state, up north, I probably won't see them live again..
Awesome work on filming the night!

      the film is wonderful!
they premiered it at The Stanley... and although there were "issues" with syncing video and audio... had they not been freaking out about it we would've never been the wiser.
also soon will be the LOOOONG Promised Idiot Flesh album!

just a note: the youngster you can hear chatting from time to time is Viggo, spawn of Carla and Matthias. Just before Ambugaton he was talking with my traveling companion, Miss J.Jackalope, explaining that this "sing-a-long" is just one word.
It was cute... in my head I was all "I know kid... I was singing that word years before you were born."
And cudos to the guy in Austin who yelled out the original Hank Williams pronunciation
