  • This video should give you an impression what is necessary for a Guzzi CARC swingarm service (cleaning, greasing, checking the bearings, etc.).
    This is also the right moment to mount a better shock, e.g. Öhlins TTX 36, • Öhlins TTX Technology and a Millepercento (MPC) fender/mud guard, www.millepercen....
    In Germany you can get both at DÄS Mototec (www.daes-motote...).
    NOTE: When routing the brake line, ensure that it is mounted above the spacers which hold the frame plate.
    MUSIC: Beethoven arranged by Kevin MacLeod.
    "Egmont Overture" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)
    1. You need a special tool for the CARC swingarm castle nut
    US: gtmotocycles.c...
    Europe: Kevin Drake, email: turbosuzukis at yahoo.co.uk, www.ebay.co.uk...
    ... or the original one from Moto Guzzi (05902734).
    2. A Griso has to be lifted with the method I have used (or similar, e.g. by tie down the front wheel and with a car jack under the oilpan). The original Moto Guzzi paddock stand or the one from Becker-Technik do not work here because you need free access to the footpeg support brackets (foot rest mounts).
    3. Search the web for the Moto Guzzi workshop manuals (e.g. Griso1200_8V_072008_Atel .... .pdf) for instructions.
    4. You can find really helpfull instructions here:
    www.guzzi-forum.de (in German, you need a login) | Techniktempel - unser Schatzkästchen | Tipps und Tricks | Breva 850 / 1100 /1200: Aus- und Einbau der Schwingenlagerung
    or here: www.guzzitech.c... or here:
    www.guzzitech.c...
    The service on a Stelvio or Breva is very similar.

    Ciao Jan,
    First, as a 25 year Mercedes mechanic and shop owner, your attention to detail is simply first class, and your bike is beautiful! Good taste in music here as well. :D
    I recently installed the MPC rear fender on my 2017 Black Devil, and IMO there is no better one for the Griso, aesthetically or functionally. It's 100% worth the fiddly install. Unfortunately, these are tough to find now, hopefully more will be available in the future.
    FWIW I really like the Bos exhaust, perfect sound in your videos and looks good too.

    Based on this video..( Which I liked) I orderd the MPC mudder from Stein-Dinse....What they sent mine was a raw unfinished beat up looking peace of junk which I would never mount on my bike.., it is better off in the Bin.When I complained to Stein-Dinse they said MPC assured them that all their mudders look like that and the Customer is required to have them finished ....Was this Your experience with yours? Thanks!

    Poop I have got the header clamps on upside down, weird because in all my pictures the big flange is uppermost. Actually your clamps are upside down as checked. Does it really matter. Gorgeous bike pristine and immaculate ; )

      Hi, I must admit that I do not know. I have read reports in several forums that this should be controlled because a lot of the CARC bikes were assembled with too little grease. This was not the case on my Griso.
      You could ask here: www.grisoghetto.com/

    I was loving it until you put that monstrosity of an exhaust pipe!! The original pipe is a work of art, put it back on🙆‍♀️

      @janguzzi  Před 5 lety +3

      Are we talking about the same bike?
      The original heavy "anti-aircraft gun" will be shelved because it totally ruins the awesome looks of the Griso, e.g. you cannot see the single sided swingarm anymore.
      There are only a few aftermarket silencers which aesthetically fit to the Griso and this BOS is one of them.

    • @jdesmo1
      @jdesmo1 Před rokem

      Yes, from all the aftermarket pipes I see people put on the Griso, the original fits it the best in spirit. These other ones trivialize the look.
