It looked great to me, I love how soft it looked at the end, I'm glad she was happy with it, my mother wasn't a butician, but she gave me a lot of hair cuts in my younger years, some of them were great and some of them were not, but she would always say the difference in a hair cut and a hair style was passion, she said if someone is passionate about cutting and styling hair, you will get a hair style that will make you feel confident and will leave holding your head high but if you go to someone who is not passionate, you will get no more than a simple cut and you will leave in a hurry only to go home and try to make it look like the style you asked for, instead of the cut you got. ✂️ Thank God for passionate Buticians.

This is brilliant. I love it when a hairdresser takes the time to talk to me, ask me what I want, and instruct me on the proper care for the style. Some stylists only know about a dozen hairstyles and give everybody the same cut. The mall cutters are typically like that. No matter what I ask for, it ALWAYS ends up the same way. Beautiful
This was amazing. I know you're being professional but as a non-professional, I'm gonna say the following: what that person did to her was so bad and so... unprofessional. If she'd ONLY wanted to get rid of the damaged hair, she could've asked anyone with a pair of scissors. It was implicit that she wanted a haircut as well. I simply cannot understand how someone can be so bad at their job. You are a hairstylist, not a hair trimmer.

some hairstylists are only trained on one specific hair type and we all know that does not translate well for people with THICK hair, like mine. As a "white girl" with very thick coarse hair, i can tell you i stopped letting blonde haired girls touching my hair. all they did was chop it more inches than i told them & put products on me that made my hair fall out. Safe to say, i do not use caucasian hair care products on my hair. My mom calls my hair a "rats nest" , but she got that thin,white hair, lol.....noticing the differences between hairtypes makes you a master at your job, not a bigoted, racist. Love yous

I disagree a lot of this generation where wigs because they want to look social media comparable and want to look like everyone else, wearing wigs was never a Melanin ting ok, a licensed stylist doesn't mean you know what your doing. Especially in the era of likes when image sells not skills or talent, people pay for what they want. Some of your mothers didnt take care of their hair so, we are Gems Barber and stylist who exactly provide a systematic approach and apply as haircare specialist. If you over 40 and your wearing wigs, its normally from chemical damage or braids.

When I was studying hair theory I had excellent marks in bookwork but I had the hardest time in application. This was another example of not understanding a certain direction a stylist will go with a client but what you did ended up being beautiful. Great work!

The finished style came out nice. I am glad you are out here educating us on the processes involved with proper cuts and hair care. I made the mistake about 5 years ago to get my black hair professionally bleached to obtain a honey blonde color. After all of my research and stylist recommendations I went with someone who ruined my then very healthy long hair. My hair turned orange and tho the style was cute after she ended up cutting a lot off and the process after to regrow healthy hair took forever. It changed my curls texture as well. Now my hair is healthier but I do have some thinning at the temples from too much tension but I really believe that double process I went through changed so much.

It looks like she gave herself an undercut. She probably was trying to maintain it herself but couldn't after she decided to grow her sides in.i k kw because I did the same thing. Sometimes we try and do our own hair to save money that we don't have. It works for a while but eventually we need a professional to help. She looks great!

This is very informative. I'm dealing with this issue right now. For years, my hair was never cut even but it didn't matter because I wear my hair short. I always used mousse and gel to mold my hair. Now I know the proper items to get for my hair. I went and got my hair cut by a stylist yesterday. She did the best she could to repair my hair so it can grow easily. We were blessed to have the end result is me getting a very nice cut!

As someone who experienced a bad haircut I can appreciate this video.
After my experience (2 years ago) I haven’t trusted a hairstylist since. The stylist was hacking my hair off carelessly and didn’t communicate at all with me. She kept leaving her booth that we were in and she was rushing.
Unfortunately, I went from long healthy hair (past shoulder length) to the length of the client in this video. She didn’t gradually cut my hair she just started chopping really low from the back. And by the time I saw my hair on the floor it was too late. I showed her a cute sassy asymmetric bob cut and left looking like a old school church usher. I was not not happy at all!
I wish I would’ve known you but now… I am ok with just growing it out.
I am white so all of this is very informative for me and I’d like to thank you. I don’t have a lot of friends, but some the few I do let in are black. I didn’t realize the complexity that goes into making a black woman’s hair look so nice! I just throw mine in a ponytail and go. To me, this is awesome to watch. Not that I could help my friends with their hair, but I can at least appreciate what they go through to look too notch! This lady looks stunning! You did such a nice job on her! Thanks you!

I've been where your client is with a not so great cut; so I let it grow out for 2 months then got a short cut from a different stylist & it was perfect. I had a terrible haircut at Supercuts on Park on yesterday . I'm so upset that I allowed stylist to mess up my hair. I'll have to wait for an appointment with someone who can hopefully fix this mess. You do an amazing job on her hair. I love it

That was a great job with that young lady and the educational aspect about the hair care was above and beyond. I love it how you fixed it!!!! I’m Caucasian and went short first time in my life and I had a very similar experience. A bad haircut. Two of them. Right now I’m waiting for a new hairdresser to have an opening so hopefully someone with actual styling experience can fix it. Gotta find a caring and artistic experienced hairdresser who loves their job. And has a speciality.

I got butchered in Feb and it was everything not to put my hands on her. It’s finally looking ok but I won’t be happy til it’s a few inches longer. Never again will I go to a chain cutting salon. You are so nice and did such a great job and I hope she becomes a repeat customer.
