- The Royal Yacht Britannia was once a former royal yacht of the British monarchy. It is now situated in Edinburgh and boasts as a 5 star visitor attraction with some 500,000 visitors passing through it's doors every year.
We visited the Royal Yacht for the first time as part of the Kings Coronation Weekend of Festivities and weren't disappointed!

A fascinating tour. I especially like the sound, weird as this might seem, because as we move from outside to inside, I feel the change in atmosphere so strongly that its easy to forget I'm not actually walking around with you. The reason I love walking videos is not just in the particular sights and sounds but the feeling that you are seeing these things with an old friend (one who doesn't feel the need to fill silences with jibber jabber). Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia, also known as the Royal Yacht Britannia, is the former royal yacht of the British monarchy. She was in service from 1954 until 1997. She was the 83rd such vessel since King Charles II acceded to the throne in 1660, and is the second royal yacht to bear the name, the first being the racing cutter built for the Prince of Wales in 1893. Big like 29 and new sub here!

Is there a time limit to view? How long does it take to do the tour?
There is not a time limit, and you can go around for as long as you like! I would say leave a good hour or more to comfortably go round!
So now instead of the queen or king being able to use a ship it just sits?
Yes, it is now a tourist attraction in Edinburgh after it was retired from service (unfortunately!)
