    Got 6 of them in my gym and they are pretty awful at high volume as far as I’m concerned, unless you only play music that doesn’t have a lot of bass. The low frequencies should not be drowning out the highs as much as they do, and I shouldn’t have to connect a Sonos subwoofer to fix the problem.

    A question for anyone:
    I've got a Sonos Roam, and I love it. But the Sonos app is a real pain in the ass - very awkward. And I have CZcams Music (because for one monthly sub fee, I can get no ads on CZcams as well as YT Music.
    My question is this: is it at all possible to use AirPlay *directly* from the CZcams Music iOS app (and bypass the Sonos app)? I don't think so, but maybe I missed something. I know that you can use Spotify Connect outside the Sonos app, which would be my first choice, but I can't afford to have two ongoing subscriptions (one for CZcams, and one for Spotify). I hope I'm being clear.
    One more question. If I choose to get a Sonos Sub Mini in the future, will it work with Sonos Ones? I know it wouldn't work with a Roam, but I'm thinking it will work with Ones…
    thanks

      Hi Robert, she doesn't need the laptop to play her Spotify on the Sonos speaker one. Once you set it up and added or sync the Spotify account, she can play it by either asking Alexa or Google to play her music, or just pressing play on the speaker. You can choose which voice assistant you want during set up. You do need to download the Sonos app on her cellphone and from there she can control it. Hope this helps. I just bought a pair last night, am enjoying them right now.

    I have one of these! 😃 I hate it 😞
    C O N S T A N T connection issues. Also, the mic sucks. You have to be very close to it, or screaming from across the room. It's nice looking, expensive garbage.
    This advertises it can do so much, but does not deliver on those promises. The range for voice commands is about 6 feet (2 meters) when talking, or across the room if you are yelling. My Amazon Alexa device can pick your voice up from across the room at a normal volume of speech. Are the Sonos mics terrible?
    Ask it to play a song. The result is it plays an approximation in that genre. Say, "Play Blackbird by the Beatles" and it responds, "Playing songs by the Beatles." If the internet worked this way, it never would have been a thing. Imaging searching the internet for the book "Ender's Game" and the results you are given are sci-fi books. That's what I get more than a few times a day with Sonos.
    And WHY is the app constantly disconnected from the device? Controlling the device by an app is a great concept, but that doesn't matter if it is not reliable.
    Now, if you can get the device to hear your voice, do an accurate search, and deliver the exact results you are looking for, it does sound good - but the odds are against you.
    Lastly, no Bluetooth playback? What was the thinking here? The majority of bluetooth devices can do this, but not Sonos. I wouldn't be surprised if that's due to the deals that were made with the many music streaming partners (e.g - Tidal).
    Overall, it promises much, but does little well.

      Mark Lambert To be honest Mark it baffles me really, and I think that it is a bit of a money making scam. The speaker itself is exactly the same, yet they apparently put upgraded processors in to make them future ready!!Mmmmm I mean, surely they are always going to do the same thing arn’t they? They will link up with your other Sonos speakers, and they will stream Music, and use smart assistants if you have one on your speaker! To me this is just a way that they will brick an older Gen a few years down the line, so that you feel you have to upgrade!! It stinks really.

  • @kevinread9659
    @kevinread9659 Před 2 lety

    You are showing one mounted on a wall, yet it doesn't appear to be plugged into any outlet. To run these speakers and mount them on walls you have to run a power cable to each speaker separately inside the wall. So, showing them mounted as such isn't realistic. How many people are going to cut out holes in their walls and modify their electrical wiring? I would say mostly nobody. The same issue revolves around rear speakers on the mounts. You will be running two separate power wires with extension chords unless you are lucky enough to have an in floor power outlet under a couch. These speakers really need an analog wire running to each with those wires connected to a main amplifier that runs the apps and features. That way you no longer need power cables for each speaker. It really is a bad design idea in my book. If you run battery powered then you have to charge them and they still need a power cable. So, that idea isn't a solution for the main issue of power either.

      You can see the power point behind the wall mounted speaker, and if you don’t want to wall mount them, you don’t have to. What’s the difference running an analog wire to the rear speakers or a power cord? You’re running a wire to each speaker, either way.

    • @CCLifestyleRealty
      @CCLifestyleRealty Před rokem

      @@CT-vm4gf it doesn't to me, but if you do have a power wire you have to run an entirely new 120V electric line which requires splicing into another line, or running new back to the main electric panel. Almost everyone in the country will require a permit, or an electrician for that. Most people have no clue about house electrical wiring. Running an analog line doesn't require either of the electric challenges. So yes there is a significant difference between the two.

      CZcams is *not* going to give you a good idea of speaker sound quality as you're reliant on the mic that this video was recorded with, your own speakers/headphones that you're listening on, and multiple layers of compression. If you want to know how it sounds, either go listen to one in a local store or read reviews and comparisons from trusted sources (like this video here).
