  • We stay in the North Lakes approx 4 miles from Keswick on a nice little touring site. We walk the old railway trail into Keswick, approx 4 miles. We go up Blencathra mountain and do some other local walks.

    Another brilliant review Rob, you looked liked you had a great time! Looked nice on the top of Blencathra and loved the stripey cow! Look forward to the next one!!

      Thanks for the compliment Brett. It was great to be back in the Lake District with its beautiful scenery. It was warm ascending Blencathra but quite chilly along the top. Glad we did it. Apparently the striped cows have a name, see John Norton’s comment. Thanks for watching. Cheers Rob

    We actually saw you walking along the railway line from Keswick back presumably to the site. We wondered where you were staying, we were at Braithwaite Village. It was nice to see one of our CZcams presenters and say hello! Great video and will give that site a visit in due course

      Hi Happy Wanderer, I’m glad you commented as I spent the rest of the walk back puzzled 🤔. We should have stopped for a chat so sorry about that. You are the first to recognise me and it caught me out. Thanks very much for commenting. All the best, Rob

    Another great non club site in the Lake District. Great video we are visiting the area next week but not expecting the beautiful weather you found. We are going to visit the puzzling place while in Keswick. It will make a change from visiting the pencil museum😀

We did well with our weather too and hope it settles down for you. Glad to hear you’re going to the puzzling place, it’s very entertaining. Thanks for tuning in and commenting. Cheers, Rob

      @@robswiseways5697 hi rob I need to pick your brains as you clearly know your way around the electrics on a caravan
      So my tracker system has a volt reader on it and when I log in on the app it gives me the current voltage of the leisure battery, with the weather turning my solar panel isn’t giving it much charge so today I drove the the storage yard and plugged the car in to give it a boost.
      I plugged it in and went to turn the control panel on and it just clicked and went back off so I was able to run any lights in the van or anything and wondered if this was normal or if it has a fault it’s a swift challenger 2014 model so doesn’t have swift command
      I could however put the fridge on but no lights
      Any help would be great
      I did video the panel coming on then going off and there was a clicking in the mains box
      Thank you

    • @robswiseways5697
      @robswiseways5697  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Shaun, It would have been the habitation relay you could hear clicking. When the relay detects the engine running it switches all internal 12v electrics off and connects the car charging circuit to the leisure battery. As you are aware the car also keeps the fridge running, hence you were able to switch the fridge on. Hope this helps. Cheers Rob

      Sorry to keep asking you questions
      My solar panel is struggling now winter is coming and I wonder if I change my solar controller to a mppt would it boost the charge to the battery
      It’s a 40w solar panel
      Thanks again 👍👍

    Hi Rob, my step dad watches your videos and has for years. He purchased a toilet blade kit and also the 4 button board for this and was wondering if you have any photos/help re the wiring on the board? No instructions came with it. Do you remove the manual handle on it for this work? Any help appreciated. 🙏

    • @robswiseways5697
      @robswiseways5697  Před 2 lety

      Hi Natasha, The toilet manufacturer Thetford doesn’t actually supply a retro-fit blade kit. They only fit the kit if specified when a toilet is ordered new from the factory. The items your step dad purchased will be classed as spare parts for repair purposes hence the missing wiring. There is no part number for the wiring that I know of. You could try asking a caravan dealer to ask Thetford to supply the wiring harness for the electric blade. One end connects to the motor and the other to the button board. I don’t have any photos but the second video I made when I started CZcams is about the electric blade. I also have a video titled fixing fault on Thetford electric ventilator. Here I show where the wiring connects to the board. It’s a very fiddly job to fit the motor, bracket and gear wheel all at the same time. It may be easier to take the toilet out and turn it upside down, Shouldn’t be any need to remove the handle though. Hope this helps and thank your step dad for watching my videos. All the best. Rob
