    The title of this video should be how NOT to open a frozen door. Using a hammer....really??? A light coating of silicone grease on the rubber door seals would prevent them sticking.

    What's up with the dislikes? Were you expecting the Michael Bay directors cut of opening frozen car doors? He delivered what he promised.

    Pouring warm (not hot) water slowly actually works best. And no scratches.

      Ok but the water will turn could almost instantly

    • @FrenchBeefCDN
      @FrenchBeefCDN Před 2 lety +1

      @@dunkedidklol The goal is to melt the ice, not to keep the water warm. It takes 144btu to turn 1 lb of ice into 1lb of water at 32f (freezing temperature.) Assuming the ice is actually colder than freezing, as it usually is in the winter (15f / -10C), then it will also take 17btu per pound of ice to even warm it to melting temperature. If there was 2 lbs of water frozen to your windshield, it would take 322btu to melt your windshield (plus the slight warming up of the glass.) Now if you had 1 pound of 135f water, it holds 102btu worth of heat energy. So it would take about 3-4 pounds of water to melt your iced windshield. (1kg or 2.21lbs per litre of water.) Basically 2 litres of water. Half a gallon.

    The hammering sounds like he’s putting down wooden blocks in Minecraft

    As a Canadian with dark tint and a Lexus, A garage is a must have for the winter. Nothing worse than frozen windows having to back up at night not seeing a thing.😂

    Just used a rubber hammer and the ice came off easily, then sprayed de icer around the seals and managed to open the doors

    It was satisfying to watch the wrong way to do this.
    If you want to know the best method, fill a plastic bag with warm to hot water and rub it along the separations. Patience my friends.

    This had happened to me with my first car back in early 2000’s. The driver’s side was frozen and the other side wasn’t. I got in the other side to started the car up. I even opened the driver’s side to get in my car. Even the window was frozen. I did opened the window to break the ice on that side.

    bello , però prova ad aprire solo una portiera ed accendere il motore e puntare l'aria calda sui vetri dopo circa 10 minuti il ghiaccio si ammorbidisce ed è tutto più facile

    Seriously DO NOT do this to your car. This guy must be trolling, luke warm water is enough. Just make sure you get the sills and if your opening your car manually, wd40 in the keyhole.
