If Mac and Riley were together from day one, it would hurt the show. There is nothing more interesting than watching a relationship grow overtime. Just ask Tiva, Densi, Janko, Lucifer/Chloe, etc.
John Baj yeah but we never got our fill of Tiva. Sure with the new story lines we have been investigating Tiva but they dragged it out just that little bit too far

The biggest issue with watching a potential romantic relationship grow is the fact that tv shows are potentially getting cancelled before these romances get fully explored. Dragging on with hints and clues about a couple's potential romance is not essentially a good thing. Harm and Mac from the series 'JAG' (which ironically take place in the same continuity as this MacGyver reboot tv show) are a good example of that, as they finally admitted their love for one another in the FINAL episode of the said show. I understand what you are saying, but I do prefer to have #MacRiley start a bit sooner, so that we are able to see where their relationship will lead.

You're not alone ! But to be honest, I originally didn't ship them and I didn't care who Macgyver was dating. But after 2x18 I couldn't NOT see the chemistry between them! Kicking myself for not acknowledging all the moments they had together from the very beginning. Riley is amazing☺

In one of the first lines said to each other when they first met was "you hack computers and I hack everything else" and I can't help but think that's the perfect description to their compatibility. On the other hand it shouldn't be a Trope or cliche the way other shows handle the protagonist dating a female partner or worker, it should feel real not just order baby sister type of relationship

This is still one of my favorite edits of these two. I wish they ended up together but knowing that Mac realized her wall was actually a door, shows just how much he cared for her. He always saw her and she was always there for him. Even though the writers never gave us the ending we wanted. I like to think they got together years later after finding what they wanted in both their lives.

Really this show is awesome...but from relationship side why not the writers made Macgyver and Riley to start have emotions each other I mean beyond friendship...like Riley to get start jealous when see Mac with other woman...or Mac get jealous when see Riley with other man.Other shows after some seasons the characters started to have emotions each other in it... Macgyver hasn't this in it...except in some episodes Bozer was jealous about Riley.If I was writer in that I would put some in that mostly between Mac and Riley.I think audience would like to see some romantic stuff in it.
For me the "romance between characters after a few seasons" has been an annoying pattern of us tv shows
@@entolahmadrafiqpraditya3887 Yes I agreed for most shows have romance the character each other and some characters after some seasons 1 from the both characters you start to like the writers make him or her dies or dissapears in the script but in MacGyver is guaranteed that the characters noone will die or suddenly dissapeared mostly of characters MacGyver and Riley so the writer's should put some flirting or jealously each other,i think audience would like to see a little of that in the show and many I think will waiting for that in the script both characters have great chemistry each other and why not a little romance too.Im sure if they continue to have these characters distance each other audience who watching that will start to boring this show.

Too early to pair. They have not even got locked together in an underground container yet or marooned in a lifeboat. Mac hasn’t been critically hurt saving Riley. Riley has not wore a evening dress that stuns Mac. Plenty to do.
