If you read up on him he was fleeced. He tried to help his friends, give them all the things they wanted. Gave them money and gifts while spending his own money on them. They took full advantage then left him when it ran out. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the box that's for certain but his heart was in the right place. Just gullible. Like other more famous people really... Gets taken for everything.

I'm a cop and I can't tell you how many times we have managed to find out who robbed the local store for a few thousand pounds by simply asking who's been buying all the rounds at the local pub. More often than not, there's drugs involved and you often get intel on known nominals making big scores by flogging a few high-price cars for 10-20K and then wasting it all on a weekend by buying birds, random strangers and lackeys lines of coke, bottles of champagne and VIP seats in the 'fancy' club in town.
It’s a true testament to the brilliance of the comedy of Harry Enfield and Cathy Burke how many views this clip has had. No one around like them currently.

That was the last time and only time i played it, so technically I'm 9 quid up :).
