    Thank you for this excellently put together video, it is very informative to see you working and explaining why you are doing things such as rolling out the ink to warm it and remove particles. How you do the test prints and your decision making for how much ink to use etc.

    I really loved the cabin. The landscape reminded me of Ansel Adams "Moon and Half Dome" or maybe more "moonrise. Hernandez, New Mexico" (I think?) though, with its expansive dark sky. It really inspired me and got my brain working on some ideas of my own.

    • @smishstudio
      @smishstudio  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you! I'm very flattered by the comparison to Ansel Adam's work. He has been a big influence and inspiration for doing black and white landscapes.

    Hi! I'm so grateful for your content. I'm curious how high can this press barrel be raised for wood block printing on fabric or mounted lino. thanks!

    • @smishstudio
      @smishstudio  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The barrel will raise to about 1/2” or 1”. You could print on tshirts with unmounted linoleum or 1/4” wood blocks. There’s an artist called Noosh Studio on instagram that prints tshirts with these presses.
      I don’t recommend the Conrad press for mounted linoleum. You could check out the woodzilla press for that.
      Best of luck!

    What are you using for your registration guide on the press? It looks like old school overhead projector transparency sheets. Can you share brand and name?

    • @smishstudio
      @smishstudio  Před měsícem +1

      This made me laugh bc I think of it as that. I actually had to check bc I've just been using the same pad of clear sheets that I got way back in college. It's called Dura-Lar from Grafix. Hope that helps!

    Are the red cards to allow the roller of the press to glide over the lino better without pushing it, or something to do with registration?

    Hi There
    My daughter is doing some block printing.
    She ask for a good printer.
    So I would like to know if you have a recommendation for a good press that is under $200.
    I saw some that were the same style as yours.
    Is that the best style for a new printer?

    • @smishstudio
      @smishstudio  Před rokem +1
