Thank you for this excellently put together video, it is very informative to see you working and explaining why you are doing things such as rolling out the ink to warm it and remove particles. How you do the test prints and your decision making for how much ink to use etc.
Feels good to hear these videos are informative and people like the extra details, thank you!
I just love to watch the inking process and how you deal with too much/too little ink.
Thank you! Its a constant struggle and a fine line to walk haha
Excellent demo of your artistic process!
I liked all 3 images a lot but maybe the cabin is my favorite. Thanks 🙏
This is so soothing to watch, thank you 🥰
I love them all but the cabin is my fave. You are adorable hahaha! I love your videos. Thank you for the effort and your generosity in sharing. All the best. Xx
Aw, another wonderful comment! Thank you! The Cabin has grown on my a lot since making it, and I love the contrast of snow against a dark forest.
so happy I found your channel! I always squeeze out too much hahahaha. so glad to know I have company
I was feeling ambitious with the ink that day 😂
I am watching your videos dreaming of my own studio space. Lovely to see your process. Thank you
Thank you! I wish I still had this studio still!!!
@@smishstudio I hope you got something else just as nice. Good luck.
Love the last one!
This is a lovely video! Thank you!
I think my favorite is the cabin! lovely work!!
Thank you! I’m really feeling the snowy cozy vibes in The Cabin print right now too 😄
Me too!
I really loved the cabin. The landscape reminded me of Ansel Adams "Moon and Half Dome" or maybe more "moonrise. Hernandez, New Mexico" (I think?) though, with its expansive dark sky. It really inspired me and got my brain working on some ideas of my own.
Thank you! I'm very flattered by the comparison to Ansel Adam's work. He has been a big influence and inspiration for doing black and white landscapes.
Hard to choose but love the cabin!
Thank you! The Cabin has been a really popular one!
I lov the cat print beautiful x
I do too! Thanks!
This is my favourite channel of this year 🙏. You are soooooooo sweet. Lol from India. 😍
You are so kind 😊
My favourite is the Cat print, i like the details of the fur
Awesome! Thank you 😁
Cabin print!!
What a calming and pensive channel. And the music! 💖 Thank you so much for sharing. Who is the pianist?
Thank you so much 😇
I’ll have to get back to you on the musician, I don’t remember atm!

Hi! I'm so grateful for your content. I'm curious how high can this press barrel be raised for wood block printing on fabric or mounted lino. thanks!
The barrel will raise to about 1/2” or 1”. You could print on tshirts with unmounted linoleum or 1/4” wood blocks. There’s an artist called Noosh Studio on instagram that prints tshirts with these presses.
I don’t recommend the Conrad press for mounted linoleum. You could check out the woodzilla press for that.
Best of luck!
What are you using for your registration guide on the press? It looks like old school overhead projector transparency sheets. Can you share brand and name?
This made me laugh bc I think of it as that. I actually had to check bc I've just been using the same pad of clear sheets that I got way back in college. It's called Dura-Lar from Grafix. Hope that helps!
Are the red cards to allow the roller of the press to glide over the lino better without pushing it, or something to do with registration?
What are the red things?
Hi There
My daughter is doing some block printing.
She ask for a good printer.
So I would like to know if you have a recommendation for a good press that is under $200.
I saw some that were the same style as yours.
Is that the best style for a new printer?
I would recommend a woodzilla press!
@@smishstudio
Thank you
I will look into that.
Are you using your Conrad etching press in this video?
Yes! That’s the only press I have 😁
What are the red strips you are placing at the ends of the block...they seem like “on and off” ramps....am I correct ?
You are correct!
Excellent idea...thanks, can you share how you create the paper wedge ?
Did u learn to do this in Ur school ??
Yeah, I learned printmaking while I was in college studying art.
