I love how she admitted she didn't know if she could be that funny, but really found comedy suits her, and I agree. I'm not a fan of either sisters work, except this, and I love this! Would watch any comedy she's ever in based on the power of her preformance in this series. Still don't like her previous stuff, but it speeks volumes that I activly didn't like her, and will now be following her career

The real Catherine the Great was emotionally stunted. To her, everyone was a chess piece that needed moving or countering (which was why she was so ruthlessly efficient as an autocrat).
    Fun fact:
When her son Paul's wife died, he fell into a deep depression and was inconsolable. How did Catherine respond? By revealing that his dead wife had been banging his only friend. She genuinely thought this would "snap him out" of his current state.

Upon further examination this was the perfect way to prove her point. Peter lived his entire life where the rules only applied to everyone else, he never really comprehended the other side when "violence is the answer". Catherine could have waxed poetic about the rights of men until she was blue in the face, but kicking the shit out of him was what it took to internalize what it's like to be in the other person's shoes.
