I am 64 years old and in pain in the winter 24/7, so I don't get good sleep. You guys remind me of the crew I worked with in Texas in the 80-'s we were building 250 thousand-dollar homes and we all made a pack to do a few miles on the Appalachian trail in the smoky mountains we started as five guys to take a year to get the gear we would need for a 2 week hike along the smoky ridge! We met four guys from Vermont and we all hiked for about four days, they sang little feet songs and we met interesting people, We listened to the trees falling in a mighty storm and watched a mother bear who lost her cub kill a deer she was upset and vicious but really sad too! the Vermont guys all had nic names. Just listening to you all talking, reminded me of that hike and You made me forget about my troubles for a while. Thank you for the sincere comradery you all show, to one another! One of my friends just passed the other day he had just gotten married to an old friend and at least got two weeks with her, two weeks with real love is better than a kick in the teeth! Real Friendships are few and far between! only a few stay for life! Respect the ones who are always there! If you ever end up in the hospital, which I will pray you never do. Your true friends will be the ones whose faces you see when you wake up! Merry Christmas 1812 metal detectors. I'll tell you this, you all sound like you deserve a nice big treasure, Ill ask Jesus if he will consider it on his birthday! Someone has to find it, why not you guys? God bless you all!
You goofballs have gotten me through some really tough times. I was paralyzed two years ago after 3 failed surgeries on my back. I’m getting my ability to walk again but I have a long way to go.
I have been swinging since was a kid and hoping that I get back out there soon Watching these videos is a highlight every week.
You guys are the best group of “second” responders I know of. I come from a family rich in law enforcement.

I was almost paralyzed too. I beat it but my left side ass is still paralyzed. It causes pain but I kept going and have not had issues in quite a while. I give just about every wheelchair I see the middle finger and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I beat it and now I am LE. If you are getting you abilities back, then you are going to win too. Soon you are going to fly like an eagle. (pun very much intended)
@@marksadventurechannel8471 I have never been one to give up. I’m having crazy nerve pain in my skin right now but I’m able to use a walker for 30~40’.

I was very active. I had my own offshore Charter Boat in Anna Maria Island, Florida until I started having problems. The desire to get back metal detecting and another boat is a huge factor. These guys will get the first invitation for a trip. There’s an island that’s been fortified since before the threat of the Spanish American War. I used to give walking tours and was the goto person for history of the island. Your not supposed to beep out there but I can get in legally. We just have to document the finds. I can’t wait to extend the invitation. Stuff like that gets me through.

Beautiful silver fork. Here in Louisiana I`ve never found a lot of the coins seen in your videos. I`ve found a couple of odd 1800s coins decades ago. One was a half dime or half cent...something strange like that in the 70s. My coin collection was stolen long ago though. I had over 100 ounces of silver. It was common to find silver coins in the 70s. My old Whites machine I sold to a neighbor in the 1980s still works.

I just found this, and loved watching it! I grew up in ipstate NY and spent many years living living in old farm land. I found a lot of old cool stuff over the years.
That Vermont copper is on my bucket list because I live in “that tiny colony or Vermont” 8 years in and still haven’t found one. You guys had an amazing year for sure!

I had a gold necklace as big as your gold,mine had a half karate diamond in the middle and sculptured hearts all around it. I had it in my purse and someone stole my purse,I haven’t seen it since that day. The thing about it is my son went away to boot camp and saved up and sent it to me,it had Mom,I love you ,engraved on the back. I prayed everyday for the cops to find it. Your gold peace reminded me of it.😢

Thats pretty cool how they used coins as buttons. Talk about displaying your wealth for all to see. My mom was a bartender and she used to get these rings that wher made of a folded up bill. Shed give them to me when i was a kid. Cool stuff you guys. Thanks

When I go metal detecting I grid the place off using wooden stakes in a square and mark the area off as to what I already did.

Another great year detecting, "Boys"! Too many wonderful finds for me to really pick a fave, but that regiment button you found late in the year is a killer find! Great to see Brad out there for a few! Even though I don't remember Bobby being out there this year, it was great to see him in there for at least one hunt. Muck seems to be your mainstay nowadays. He had a great year, even though we only know him by his boots. Here's to a great new year in 2023. Hopefully, you'll be able to get to it soon even though it's a bit snowy back there right now. A question from Kentucky.Have you ever came up on a soldier that has fallen and everything is there,not interested in the bones but other items that you knew was the man died where you found him???,,That kind of find? I have a second hand detector and yet to use it. I lost a ring as a toddler and in hopes to go back to my grandmas yard as the house is gone,,and that is all I want to find that little ring. It was winter and got out throwing snow balls and the ring came off due to the temp,,,I was too young for a ring but,,,,ENJOY YOU MEN TOGETHER DOING AND SHOWING US THE JOYS YOU HAVE DOING THIS HOBBY. Best to you all..

Hi Kurt & all the best to you, your family & the Hoover Boys in the New Year. I was detecting at a old goldfield town site here in North Queensland, Australia about 18 years ago when l detected a small shiny little coin. At the time l couldn't identify the coin until l had finished detecting for the day & returned back to my camp for a few cold beers. I soaked the coin in warm soapy water for a while to soften the caked on dirt that the coin was coated in then l took to it with the toothbrush. After l wiped the coin down l was very surprised to see it was an American 1876 Seated Dime.
Woops, hit "post" too soon. Yes it's a beautiful American silver 1876 Seated Liberty Dime. It now sits in the pride of place with the two gold coins I've detected at this site. Anyway Kurt all the best for the New Year, Pete.
