Zach... Not all wheel sets are the same.... Some have threaded on end caps... I recommend looking at the hub manufactures manual to find out how to change their end caps.
I really appreciate this video. I had no idea that this was a thing. Thank you very much. BTW How is the rigidity reagarding the 9mm QR adapters compared to the original 9mm QR hubs?
I've never owned a bike with this type of hub. Most QR hubs are ball bearing systems. I don't think most ball bearing QR systems are compatible with 15 mm thru axles
I'd like to know what is the benefits of this 15mm or 20 mm thru axel ? What is the point that will makes me stand up now and order it. Pls someone explain. Thank you
Are you saying you have a wheelset with 15mm end caps??? If that is the case you might want to give Stan’s a call and see if they have end caps to convert 15mm to QR...
No i was saying i have Quick release on my bike... it's a gary fisher 29er mamba. I would like to convert to throughaxle but even if i managed to convert the wheels. don't i still have to worry about the frame drop-outs and if it'll fit etc... etc... nvm i found my answer... i will have to keep the QR for now or i can go with bolton axle but it's probably not worth it for my bike tbh...
You can just buy a 29er fork with 15mm thru axle and just make sure the axle spacing on the fork matches the wheelset... also make sure when you order the fork that the steerer tube matches the head tube on your frame..also the travel of the fork match up..
Thank you, very informative, will be doing the same to my wheels
Yes, Stan's has a conversion kit to change the stock set up into a 20mm thru axle.
RoboGrips! I love my RoboGrips!
looks like the new through axle will be running in the alloy cups, they don't enter the bearing race?

Never rode the 9mm QR hubs so I can’t give you an opinion on stiffness between the two

NO WAYYYY.... Oh man you were sent from mtb heaven. By any chance do you have a website that I could safely get these from?
Try these guys..
www.notubes.com/shop/wheels-rims
when u put so much pressure on a spoke, u might be have some problem..the best way to do it is grab the other side hub to pull it out
Can all wheels do this
Will this work for 20mm
I upgrade my sr sontour fork to Rockshox RL and the new comes with 15mm thru axel and my questions is, what do i need to do?
You didn’t mention axle spacing... but here is the link to Stan’s website that has multiple conversion kits...

hello! i have mavic crossride 9x135 29'' 11s shimano on the rear, what kind of dtswiss wheel/hub should i get?
I would call DT Swiss to make sure you get the correct one... I don’t want to give you the wrong part# because it is a older standard...

Thank you
stiffer wheel bro, theres a thicker axle, it can take mroe of a beating too ;)
Your wheel is always guaranteed to be perfectly straight
@@stickyickyrickyrain that not a guarantee lol
@@paziubmx He mean that the every time you mount the wheel, it will be in the same position
that's all good but... my fork and frame are made to receive QR... how to you convert that part... or do i need new frame and fork as well...

Do you know if it’s the same procedure with XO hubs?
Sorry....not familiar with the DO hubs
I mean XO
Opo cah polah e...
Mine don't have end caps they are nbolted in can I still do the conversion
I don’t know if this conversion would work with your hub... I would give Stan’s a call..
what brand of bike is that?
2012 Ibid Mojo SLR
Nope....the video is specific to the Stan's Hub....other manufacturers may have different set ups to convert their hubs.
hello can i convert 9mm axle to 12mm axle pls !
Depends on which hub... here is a link to convert their 3.30 hub..
www.notubes.com/end-caps-front-stans-3-30-12mm-thru
the audio is off until abt 0:13
So, do I have to have Stan hubs for this to work? I have 2019 Giant Tallon 3. With the stock hubs
I would contact Stan’s to see if the conversion works on other brands of hubs
Too easy what about a conversion from traditional cone nuts to thru
