- On my 2020 TTR 230 after I changed the Air Filter, Oil & Oil Filter (after 8 hours), main jet #130 pilot jet #38, then I upgraded from the stock exhaust to a Full system Big Gun Exhaust, It was one of the last I could find through Motorsport.com due to this pandemic everyone buying the rest of the parts for bikes... This turned out to have amazing results! Later I changed the front and rear sprocket you'll see in the video following this one.
amzn.to/3es4vxm - Big Gun Exhaust - This is the only link I could find for the exhaust, they will most likely be sold out, good luck finding one!

11:55 RIP the fanta😭😭😭
Big gun sounds way better. Probably gave you more power and torque. Thinking about buying this bike. Will definitely get the same exhaust system for it. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Man! I recommend it for people under 5"11 and under 150ib so you can get the most out of the suspension. Also I wouldn't buy a new one, you shouldn't have to be more than $3000 for a Mint condition TTR.
Was going to put an FMF pipe but they were sold out and got this one. Can’t wait to get it and install it. Thank you for the tutorial guide
No problem! I was in the same predicament, I couldn’t find an FmF for my life this year, that’s why I ended up getting “The Big Gun”
Aye where did you buy yours at?????
The Fanta soda in the back 😭
HA, LMAO! Dude I have felt the same way! 25 years later I came around..
thank you so much for this video i recently purchased at ttr230 last year brand new2020. been having problems with power. i will definitely be trying this and a sprocket chnage.!
No problem man thank you! That is great to hear! An FMF exhaust is just as good to, changing your sprocket setup will always change things, also you have the options of increasing the jets and upgrading the air filter too!
Got one used and it had his installed. I love how it sounds
It sounds awesome I’ll have to do that with my Ttr…..BUT YOU SPILLED YOUR SODA 😭😂
I owned a 2017 TTR-230 with a FMF pipe on it. I had to re-jet mine as it ran way to lean. I went up 1 size on the primary and main jet and also installed a high flow air filter. Its a way different power band now and pulls strong through all the gears. I parted ways with it last year and I'm looking into getting a 4 stroke 450cc now. Grew out of the TTR-230 after a few years of riding it but its a great bike for what it is. Forks are also weak as its more of a trail riding bike but you can re spring and use a heavier weighted fork oil if you want to hit some jumps with it...
Completely agree mann! This is like that bike you bring incase all other bikes fail.😂
Sounds a lot better than stock
I have a 2020 TTR 230, and it too has rust right under the seat. Pissed me off, put some oil in it and will scrub and paint it soon.
Upload whatever with this bike and I’ll watch it, nobody posts 230 videos.
Not the Crush☹️
Thanks! I definitely have more videos coming soon of a few more upgrades which came out great!
So I just met a guy (older) yesterday that has one of these exhausts on his TTR 230 but doesn't like it because he thinks it's too loud. I've got a TTR230 also and we were talking about doing an exhaust exchange. He would like to have a stock exhaust,(which I have) and I like the sound of his better than mine, If I put his on my bike, do I have to do anything to the carburetor, or can I just slip it on without any rebuild, or adjustments do you know? I'm a new rider, and am not really interested in cranking up the power per say, just thought his sounded better.
what exact exhaust model is the one being used in the video
This is a Big Gun Evo R Complete exhaust, I bought from motosport.com www.motosport.com/big-gun-evo-r-complete-exhaust
11:57 RIP SUNKIST BROOOOOO
I went boot legged and took the baffle cap out its loud now it sound like this big gun exhaust
😄Hey! That's a place to begin and it still makes difference, especially after Carburetor mods! I would have done the same thing, if these where not a gift..🤣
@@RidingwithDylan yea when I get older and maybe get a bigger bike I will im only 13 you know I can't afford exhaust so it'll work fo now yea but I see what your saying what carburetor did you get so I can check it out
@@757_aj9 i believe he just got a bigger jet size
@@757_aj9 That's cool Man! we all where there at one point, you should stick with the original carburetor but experiment with a jetting kit, it is the most affordable direction to go to get the most of of a TTR. Kits start like $75ish. The purpose here is to change the pieces inside the carburetor to add or minus the air/fuel mixture. Exhaust mods, Air Filter Mods, assist a lot when you are "tuning" your Carb.
@@RidingwithDylan alright thanks
nooooo the sunkist'
I want a louder exhaust, I'm thinking of getting this or the 4.1 FMF exhaust. What are your thoughts? I have a 2014 Yamaha TTR 230.
Hey, I think the FMF exhaust are great! I have them on my other bikes, I would have got one for my TTR but they where sold out at the time..🤣
@@RidingwithDylan Which one should I get Fmf or big gun?
I would get the FMF, it would have been my first choice but they were sold out at the time; had to resort to the big gun.
@@RidingwithDylan Thanks.
@@Star02Lord No problem! If you can make a CZcams video on the FMF pipe, people would love to see it!
Do you know if I get a new exhaust for the TTR if it will keep the green sticker valid or will it change it?
I am not sure because each state is different with the laws- I think noise pollution is a states biggest concern, but technically as long as it has an exhaust it will do it’s job.
nice looks good i got the fmf
Thanks! I was originally going to put an FMF but they where all sold out..😆
do you have to take off the gas tank? i have a 2021 230 and i bought a dr. d exhaust, havent put it on yet but jw
Hey! you do not need to remove the gas tank. I only did because I was also taking out the carburetor to upgrade the Jets.
I have the same exhaust coming in for my 230. What are the steps for the carburetor and re jetting and stuff?
11:55 NOT THE FANTA😩
It’s alright it was a Sunkist 😂
@@RidingwithDylan EXACTLY! All of these dweebs talkin' bout "No the Fanta!" but it was a Sunkist. Everyone should know that if they properly used their X-Magnify 3000x zoom scope.
@@Nicky2Fiddy shoulda been a Fanta! not a Sunkist🤣
@@RidingwithDylan I actually have no attachments from either. I am a Dr.Pepper and Mellow Yellow guy myself.
I have a 2007 TTR 230 would this still work on my bike?
I am not to sure, I think everything stayed the same, but I don’t know if it will clear the kickstart, but I would assumed you could
What jet size do you need for it to work,im thinking about get it to
Did you ever figure out what size jets?
@sebastianochalski1051 nope,I never did get exhaust for it,ill get one, when spring time comes
👍
What jets do you recommend
For this bike after upgrading the exhaust I used a main jet #130 and a pilot jet #38 from Yamaha it worked great! I made a video on the jet upgrade. Check it out, I put the link in the description to where I got the jets.
czcams.com/video/eTBDWPCnizA/video.html
how much did that bike cost brand new
The msrp, for a new one was around $4200, a one year older model would be $3200
Rip the fanta
Where can get it
I bought this one off of Motorsport.com but I recommend the FMF for this bike
You think this works for my ttr230 06
I think it would because it is such a close design, but I would spend the $ on the FMF or pro circuit you will get a better “bang for the buck”!
Thanks!
Sounds good.👍
Thank you! The feel of the bike was the biggest changer here!
Any chance you'd want to sell your stock pipe?
Sure!
Message me at @RidingwithDylan on Instagram or Facebook I will be glad to!
Anyone else see the pop spill
At what time.. didn’t notice 😂

LMAO!
You need to spend your money on a real bike.
