Will a NITRO CARD solve all of life's problems?

- Gregg and I actually filmed a video for this week but we had some technical issues that prevented us from publicizing it. While we were out there we did do a test shot to determine if using a nitro card would be practical for controlling the powder load with a wad that normally insists we use a "magnum" load of powder.

Use flour to make up the additional space !
@@longriderxxOr non dairy creamer, it burns like a fuel air explosive like flour and talcum powder does. :} The paint can with a candle and some hose blowing on a ring of stuff in there will send the lid to the ceiling easily.
I watched a video (that i no longer can find) that show why some slugs can spin around and not go straight. The video showed a slomo animation that shows the roll crimp unraveling uneven because of the difference in the thickness of the plastic when fired, causing the slug to destabilize.
So next time, a really weird shaped slug shows up. Either use another method to hold the slug inside the cartridge if possible.
Again? 🙂
Talc is chalk it does not burn ! @TheMechanator, the creamer is sugary Maltose it could leaave a deposit in the pipe .x
Still miss you Danny. ❤
Danny was the main man RIP danny
I love my "Dead Eye Danny" shirt.
The only celebrity I have ever mourned for. RIP Danny
Well be missed ❤ rip gone but never forgotten 🙏
Every video. ❤
I love how every time Jeff brings something from Danny to the show, all comments are like we miss him, RIP... What a man! Thank you Jeff.
Agreed.
Danny is from a generation which innovated in their garage and made the tools to make the tools to make stuff. It is our responsibility to engender that spirit in future generations; teach them that when everything we use becomes disposable, people become disposable, too.
I sire do miss him
@@WINTEJER000 everyone does.
Danny’s spirit lives on in every hole you punch
Wow that was a short video… I didn’t even get finished with my ice cream… lol… thanks buddy
@@Wootangtw 😅 Thank you for that, tis funny.
Good ol' Danny PhD (pretty hip dude)! May he rest in peace. ❤
Shout out to danny ....what a ledgend he was❤
Danny was a genius. I really like how you still keep his memory alive on your channel. Class act Jeff. Everyone loved Danny. Awesome video as usual.
Jug dots was also OG's K pop boy band Q1 2023.
Jeff and OG y'all rock! RIP Danny. ❤Peace
I have many of my grandfather's tools. As a mechanic I use them a lot. It helps me hear his voice in my head. I didn't know Danny like you did but I do miss him.
Danny and Barry are the coolest gun guys looking down on us from heaven, blessing all things gun related.
Danny seemed genuine, and I think that's why so many folks he never even met miss him so much.
The cards seemed to work out pretty well.
That view of the half-shell really helped me understand much better, that was a good visual help.
Thanks and happy Sunday.
thanks!
I actually like these troubleshooting videos. Very informative. We all miss Danny, he surely is missed.
We all miss Danny. Thank you for keeping his memory alive.
That cutter was not the only thing Danny left behind. He left behind more than a few great video memories. Peace
Jeff, I love your how we did it videos. It makes clear to me how little I know. Keep it up.
The video was not boring to me. Just the mention of Danny and the tool he made for you made my day. Sure miss him.
Danny, still giving to the channel. Awesome.
There's NEVER a dull video.
They're fun, interesting, informative, educational, and at times goofy.
Never Dull
I've been making my own nitro cards for a while now. I cut with a 3/4 inch paper disc cutter very easily, and the very best material for them is the wax infused paper from like a milk carton. They seal better and are water proof. Great show guys as always.
That was really heartwarming to see something from Danny play such an important role.
Proof, once again at 5:56 that OG is a crack shot.
Dammit, your joke was better than mine.
Danny was a smart and handy man to have around. He showed kindness and strength and compassion in his final days. Im facing a few things i hope im as strong as he was. RIP Danny. Thank you Jeff for another cool video. 10/10 for Danny.
thanks!!
@@taofledermaus ❤️
Love seeing Danny’s contributions to this channel immortalizing him. He was a great and kind spirit. Hope paradise is treating him well ❤
OG!
I still miss Danny. He was always the master of chill.
RIP Danny. I am sure him and my father are at the shooting range in Heaven swapping stories. I never got to actually meet TFM Danny, but his mannerisms, sense of humor, and love of shooting 100% remind me of my father, who was named Danny as well.
And, on a humorous tangent... DAMG OG working on dat vertical smile.
i believe the technical term is "construction workers cleavage"
Fantastic. Love when you're thinking outside the box and trying out other solutions. I'm sure Danny is proud. We miss him. Can't wait to see what you'll be using those shot cards on next. Great video. God bless
Danny's soul lives on. Fitting tribute.
Nice episode. And it’s a great to remember him. Thank you for the science!
thanks Aaron
Danny lives on. Thanks for the video. Miss you Danny
A Genius at Work... Nice job Jeff...
A little peice of Danny lives on in my mind every time I watch you guys. R I.P Danny and you guys keep your powder dry and keep up your fantastic program.
Great information. Thank you for sharing the technical parts of your load prep. I'm a reloader, but I've never done shotshells. Good stuff to know.
Dead eye Danny saves the day even from the great beyond. Always in our hearts and reminded every time we see Danny's lead eye.
Never boring when knowledge is gained. RIP Danny.
Cracking good job OG!
Had to dig deep into the comments for this. It sure cracked me up.
Just glad that wasn't slow motion.
I'm sure Danny is looking down from heaven and smiling. He will never be forgotten.
Thanks for sharing more of Danny. He is missed.
It's amazing what a little piece of paper/cardboard can do!
Oh Danny Boy... gone but not forgotten. 😊 Thx Jeff & Greg for another great video 😁
thanks Richard
In 2018 When Knob Creek Range in KY got out of selling reloading supplies, they put everything at half price. I bought nearly all of the smokeless powder they had for about $12 per pound. Longshot, Red/Green/Blue Dot, Steel, HS-6, 700-X, 800-X, Lil' Gun, WSF, WSH, WST, Bullseye and others were all available in spades. I still have well stocked shelves. If I run out, I'm sure I'll get sticker shock when I resupply.
As always, thank you for the knowledge.
You had to mention Danny, sure do miss that guy. I hope the rest of the people around him (family/friends) realize the impact he had on a lot of people even in a relatively brief amount of time toward the end of his life.
Good use of the nitro card, and Danny's excellent tool. The 'Fishtailing' action of the slug was correcting itself the further it went. Thanks Jeff, Greg and of course Danny who is still contributing ❤
thanks
Danny was "The Man". True old school. R.I.P.
Mention of Danny made me a little emotional. Long live Danny in our memories and his ingenuities.
Danny is a treasure gone but never forgotten. Kinda like OG.👍👍👊🏻👍,
I remember my first time watching this channel, i think i was in middle school. All these years later, and the channel is still going strong, with minimal (and overall good) changes.
Except we all miss danny.
thanks!!
Interesting videos Jeff on the BTS of making the shells work. Danny is remembered well by TFM people.
Not boring at all. Thanks for these tech vids, I find them extremely valuable.
thank you
Hey, OG. Danny will never be forgotten.
Jeff and Crew, It is admirable to see your channel combating this rip off artificial inflation of pricing. also, hats off to Goodel stepping up and making a replacement wad for the Russian slugs (They are fool proof in the accuracy department). So. Peace my Brother and great work on the nitro wad. - Dave
Seems we have seen about 30 years worth of inflation happen in the last few years. I've been giving some feedback to Goodell about possible tweaks to his design to iron out some of the issues we have seen. He's been pretty receptive about it.
Very cool to learn more about Danny’s history!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
I thought youd he whacking that punch with a rubber mallet or something, I love that you stuck it on the drill press.
Amazing, even though Danny is gone he’s still helping out the channel.
I appreciate these nerd videos sometimes. They're especially interesting when you have learned something new.
thanks!
RIP Danny!! Such a great channel.
Highly informative. Thank you for sharing. 😊
That plumbers ass on the first shot 😂
Videos like this really make you appreciate the versatility in shotguns and their ammo. Always nice to see the pieces of TAOFLEDERMAUS history pop up now and then too!
thanks!!
This is a great video, and shows exactly how much work and fiddling guys like you and I have to go through to get perfect stack height, maximize powder, and still make a reliable and accurate round.
I always learn something new on this channel! Thanks for sharing!
Glad to hear it!
Great video..Danny was a thinker..that's for sure..n a good man..we all miss him..
Couldn't agree more
Heh, that's pretty cool you still use the hole, punch. Also, thanks for a bit of a behind the scenes video, I find the explanations very interesting.
This was a great video and beneficial to a lot of people. More like this Jeff!
thanks
Me not bored. Me like science. Science makes cookies!!
God rest you danny, think about you every time I watch these videos. He was a good guy and as they say it's always the best ones that go first. R.i.p Danny 😢😢😢😢
Great job guys, appreciate your work 👍
thank you
You could use a black powder trick you can take up the space with Polly fill also you could get 20 gauge nitro cards to fill the cavity
I'd guess 16 or 20. I'd also see a repurposed 3/4" hole see card cutter. If these fit 40 plain, 20 with the 12ga card, I'm guessing 30-35 would like a sub-12ga card
Yay, knowledge. Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I hope there was a good safety playground to catch the rounds! Can never be too careful guys! 🥰
Hats off to Danny. Miss you guy.
I''m so pleased to see the legendary sharpened hole-saw.
PS: there is no such thing as a boring TFM video
Thank you. Interesting information. Appreciate it.
I like to think Danny, Barry, & Jeff Quinn are all making the best content at the best range up in Heaven.
You learn something new every day 🤔🏴👍🏻
Blue moon…
OG’s new theme song 😊😊😊😊😊
As an officer, Officer Greg should know that much crack is illegal!
These type of more "scientific" videos are the ones I like most.
Although I doubt Danny was the least bit concerned about any legacy he may have been leaving
behind, it's nonetheless heartwarming (if not a bit melancholy) to still see his influences on
TFM live on, thanks to Jeff's kind inclusions.
Thanks as always, Jeff. You're a good man.
- Ed on the Ridge
thanks Ed
NOT BORING. best video I watched all day
thanks!@!
Rest in Peace Danny God bless you and your family
We need to stand up to the people purposely raising the prices to make it difficult for everyone
That's what elections are for
@taofledermaus wait, our vote is actually counted? I thought they just stuffed the ballot box when anything or anyone went against their agenda 🤔 😐 😕 😳 🙄 😅
@@nightmarethunderfistPretty much!😔
Dead eye comes through again! RIP
"Funky cream of Wheat ash"... Great name for a rock band.
Hey Danny's modified hole saw saves the day! ❤
Ive used nitro cards when loading tapered wads into straight walled hulls. RIP Danny
When you can't buy a solution, MacGyver it.
Thanks for the info!
OG is my favorite.
corn starch , cream of wheat or ,Dacron buffer doesn't bother the barrel at all . Actually it is a rather common practice with reloading various Nitro express rounds . For example 475 #2 nitro express with it's massive 31/2 inch long case . You could also try paper patching as an alternative to sabots .
Danny will live on forever here at Taofladermaus!!! Sure do miss him!!
Great demo
thank you
great content as always
Love the tinkering videos too!
FASCINATING. Thanks.
Thank you too!
RIP Danny you are greatly missed.
Most helpful!
Your definitely an idea's man Jeff! and so cool your using something Danny made!
Thank you much for the interesting info
tha;nks!
Sometimes the simple things in life are what counts. Take the high-speed Confetti Thrower for example.
Thanks Jeff, OG and of course Danny for his ingenuity.
thanks
5:57 Office Gregg becomes Plumber Gregg
Just to be on the safe side, Jeff, I'm going to get a full deck of nitro cards and carry them with me everywhere. That should guarantee no more problems of any kind, ever. Thanks for the tip! 👍🤣
lol
