Truthfully, I never understood why the party went south, Debra got what she wanted, then all of a sudden everyone's mad at Ray.
well he snitched her out, making her now look like an ass for planning a suprise party for herself in front of everyone
Surprise parties are meant to be fun spontaneous things for the guest of honor. Now, it's just a vanity project she put on. It's like if you bought yourself a gift, told your partner to give it to you and then start screaming for joy when you get it. It's insincere and weird.
The writers wrote it for that exact scenario
Well Ray was asking for an embarrassment when he couldn’t keep a secret for Lois (Debra’s mom) that a surprise party was being planned for Debra, then he fell for the sex trap that really backed him into a corner on that one 🤷🏼♂️🤦♂️lol
@@sws212 IIRC, the surprise party was Lois' idea and she told Ray. Debra suspects this and Ray folds, completely letting the cat out of the bag. At this point, *Ray has the sole power* to isolate everyone who knows and doesn't know about the party; but Ray is an idiot. So, for the _SECOND_ time, he spills the beans... to the worst possible people (the rest of the Barones)... at the worst possible place (the party)... at the worst possible time (just before Debra arrives)... and for the worst possible reason (his brother was picking on him). Good job, Ray.
How come no one commented about Robert being the dickhead here for intentionally announcing it out to all ?
Thing is, Robert wouldn't have even known _anything_ if Ray didn't have such a pre-adolescent ego that bruised like a peach.

At the end of the episode, Debra’s mother whispered in ear about Ray and both of them looked disappointingly at him. Ray 😐 then said, “Deb, there’s something I gotta tell you...your mother has *never* like me.” I wanting to know for so long, Deb’s mother never like her husband in the first place? Because it’s kind of obvious, Ray comes from a dysfunctional family.
