Congratulations to President Vladimir Putin on his re-election. I’m an American ,and I follow politics as best I can on a global scale. Zellenskyy like Biden are both criminals that have no interest in what is best for the American people. Our news media is all propaganda. We were even told if Tucker Carlson ever went to Russia to interview President Putin that he would never come back to the USA alive. That’s the type of warmongering we have in the USA . I admire President Putins intelligence, and his ideology that is aligned with diplomacy, not warmongering rhetoric we hear in the West. NATO should be abolished ! One must remember, a majority of Americans are not educated . People over fifty or possibly sixty years old get their geopolitical news from pundits that know nothing. We have a program called the VIEW. This show is anathema to any intelligent person, yet its viewers are mostly middle to late stage of life females that believe what these ignorant grifters spew . I live in San Francisco, and spent my formative years in Palo Alto aka Silicon Valley. It was a different world than it once was, technology has been the bane of mankind in the west . Free speech is one thing, free clothes, money, cars, and food is another thing, we have no laws for these criminals that have destroyed our major cities under this progressive umbrella of hypocrites that have made the victims in this country the criminals, and the criminals the victims. I’m an old man now;however, if I was younger in this period of time, I would be looking into moving to Russia, albeit I don’t speak a word of the language . With that said. Everything I’ve seen on social media sans politics shows Russia appearing more like the USA I grew up in. Your wealth distribution, infrastructure, architecture, history, and from what I’ve gleaned hearing President Putin speak about aligns with my ideology. I apology for every thinking American for what we have facilitated in favour of the Ukrainians corrupt government that our political leaders have embraced . Biden, and Trump are in reality the same . We have a Uniparty, we don’t have fair or balanced elections. Everything in our political sphere is preordained by capitalists . The man or woman with the most lucre wins . That’s not Democracy ! Now do I press send, and expect a visit from someone tomorrow or am I a man that from what I believe is right press send ?

Lavrov is the best diplomat ever as well as a true Russian Patriot. Russia is beyond extremely fortunate that he is willing to continue in his position.
Similarly, General Gerasimov is a superbly competent military leader with an outstanding background for his position as Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
He has an extremely thorough and rigorous Russian military education in addition to his combat experience. As a child, after fourth grade Gerasimov's father sent his application for admission to the Kazan Suvorov Military School which Gerasimov entered as soon as he was able to. Four years later in 1971 he graduated from the Suvorov military school in 1973 with a gold medal and was then admitted to the four-year Kazan Higher Tank Command School for officers from which he graduated with honors in 1977. He then began his service in Poland where he rose to tank company commander and tank battalion chief of staff. In 1984 he was admitted to the Malinovsky Military Armored Forces Academy advanced officer training. Graduating with honors in 1987. Subsequently in 1995 he was selected to attend the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, graduating with honors in 1997.

From X : Since not everyone understands what the Security Council is and what the appointment of Shoigu as its secretary means, a few words of clarification:
✔️ The Security Council is the most important body making strategic decisions on key issues in the life of the country. Some compare it with the boyar duma, which is similar in form, but not true in essence.
✔️ It is with the Security Council that Putin discusses strategic issues weekly - in 99 cases out of 100, behind closed doors, only the topic is known. For example, members of the Security Council in February 2022 publicly discussed the acceptance of appeals from the DPR and LPR.
✔️ Secretary of the Security Council is by no means an honorary pension, but an expansion of capabilities and functions after the Ministry of Defense. In fact, this is the entire power unit in one place, and not only that.
✔️ The Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation ex officio is the President of the Russian Federation, that is, Putin personally. The Secretary directs the work of the Security Council itself. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev reports to Putin.
✔️ Those who have already announced Shoigu’s departure from politics have gotten very excited.

I certainly do not understand why Ukraine and NATO would be rejoicing on the change of Shoigu. If he was incompetent, they most likely now have a BETTER leader of the MOD. In any case, nothing will change the eventual outcome. The difference is only in terms of time to goal and the number of casualties and death on both sides.

Most obvious reason for a change like that is that the Russian army had changed in a way that the defense minister does not really have much to do with any strategical or tactical stuff, but has more economical fights, while the advisors, generals and so on are the link to the army.
In that case a military guy at the top is not only a waste but contra productive, since he will not only not be able to use his talent, but struggle with all the actual tasks at hand.

Shoigu was a crisis times MoD minister, stern and demanding. I have never seen him smile. Now that procurement is in order is a perfect time for a cabinet shuffle. If you don't promote and shuffle potential doesn't come out. Andrei Belousov seems like a very nice man. Among his first priorities : soldier wages, better access to medical care, better support for families. He is a known technology innovator with a similar economics background as Shoigu.

It's not a purge the shuffle is rather normal. It is the law to have the cabinet resign and then reappointed. Appointments must be approved by Duma aka Congress and Senate. Shoigu was promoted bcs security council is a more important position than ministry. Ministers in Russia were and aee ALL civilians including Shoigu. Shoigu had no military experience when appointed so nothing have changed for that matter. The actual generals are the command center not ministry. An economist in light of rapidly growing MIC is only logical. All of this is rather normal and logical not very big and not sacking and not purge like everyone wish to believe. US media is frankly pathetic

If you felt that your country might be going to war (with NATO or the US), the leadership would be stupid not to rotate their personnel into positions to give as many people as possible practical experience in solving military problems. Each of these Generals, officers and enlisted men may be involved in a military campaign comparable to the Ukraine war.

Sounds like Putin is doing 2 things: 1) replacing the head of defense with a bean counter because he doesn't think he is getting enough for him money for the war 2) Replacing a hardliner with somebody who is more friendly with Putin. Protecting his blindside while trying to improve his reputation due to a very costly war that isn't doing much.
