How about channels for GMRS radios?

I haven't tried programing local news on a GMRS, but GMRS is an FM signal, so I might work.

Get someone to help you with the free chirp program, then you can put the MURS, FRS, GMRS, marine channels, all 7 weather channels, even the International Space Station VHF channels, the UHF and VHF National calling frequencies, and all of your local repeaters into the 128 channel spaces on the UV-5R. Any of the channels can be programmed to block transmitting on the ones you are not licensed for.
