This Hindi biopic stars the talented Alia Bhatt (Raazi & Gully Boy) in the title role, along with Vijay Raaz (Delhi Belly & Gully Boy), Seema Pahwa (Bareilly Ki Barfi & Shubh Mangal Saavdhan), Jim Sarbh (Neerja & Padmaavat), and Ajay Devgn (Singham & Tanhaji). The movie is directed by the visionary Sanjay Leela Bhansali (Devdas & Bajirao Mastani), who also composed the music for the film.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the few directors who portrays true feminism. In my opinion, btw.
200% . Also probably the only director who has done best periodic dramas without much over the top scenes , proper sets , great songs , 100% acting

I like how these gurls are really feeling the sentimental gaze SLB has based his direction on. Her character is grey but she is "secretly" helping the ones who are in need without the people around her realising it.

My mother worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and she has always praised him. He is a master at his work and he put his soul into his creation. Gangubai is my favorite and Alia did justice to the role.
What did your mother do? Was she in theatre or anything like that?

It's just a movie that's not good. It looks like a soap opera on testosterone. But there is literally *nothing* to be offended at (unless you get offended at bad writing). It's nothing but manufactured outrage.
Animal is highly violent and very bad, I really don't think it would be a good reaction
@@AriaIsaraI think the fact that there is nothing except they keep whining "ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA" is what makes it so rage inducing. He made a 3 hour movie just to fulfill his teenage fantasies and earned a 1000crs from it.
@@bhargavipba I've heard many reviewers say the movie is misogynistic because the lead guy says "alpha" and other things, which is just stupid. The female characters are written in a way that they are the only sensible characters in the movie while all the male characters have a lot of issues. So I find the offended reviews to be baseless.

I really appreciate this reaction, you guys seemed to really empathise with Gangu's terror and pain and rage, and understood her taking agency over herself in whatever way she could as powerful. No offence to to the Koay brothers' reaction but I preferred this one. You guys felt like if I was watching this film with my close female friends. It's more about the experience and emotions and the realness of it all, than only the visuals (although filmographers, makeup artists and costume designers obviously did a beautiful job). It's about the small moments of peace as well as raw pain. You seemed to be putting yourselves into her shoes and appreciating the story holistically, rather than watching a story outside of yourselves. You put yourselves in the story, rather than just looking on. You felt Gangu's anger with her. You understood the sisterhood among the girls. And you weren't just "distracted" by Alia's visual beauty (although she is obviously beautiful) at times when the story/emotions were supposed to be the focal point - again no offence to the Koay reaction but that was truly ironic.
