    Cool! Love the humor.
    Tips, though: When cutting the tops of the posts, Take a speed square and draw a line across the post, where you’re going to cut. Then when using your saw follow that line to make a good flat, square cut. Use a circular saw, if you have one. Also, you can set your circular saw at 45° and cut about 1/2” off he square ends.
    There are caps you can get for those posts, to to finish them off and make them look a little nicer.
    I’m not a big fan of putting concrete mix in dry and in then pouring water over it, if that’s what you even did. I like to mix it with the right amount of water and then put in the hole and tamp it down with a piece of wood.
    Your friend asked what pressure treated is. Pressure treated lumber is where they take a whole unit of lumber, put it in a big cylinder and fill it with a treating solution and then pressurize it for hours. This solution gets inside the wood helps prevents it from rotting and getting eaten by insects. They used to use a solution called CCA, which stands for Copper Chromium Arsenate. But, even though the arsenic was a very low amount (the same as what is naturally in dirt), they thought it was bad for the environment (CCA treated lumber was bad to burn. I don’t know about burning the pressure treated lumber, currently on the market), so they changed it to another type of treating solution.

    • @alexanderlegassick619
      @alexanderlegassick619  Před 2 lety +5

      You don't need to mix it. It absorbs the moisture in the dirt and then bonds to the wood. Mixing it is pretty much a waste of time for wood posts. It's been a year and a half and the bars are still standing like they were when we first put them in

      Concrete is hydraulic. When it's put into the ground, all the water in the dirt is absorbed and the concrete hardens. If you're mixing concrete with water and pouring it into the hole for a 4x4 you're just wasting your time
