Itâs helpful to see the syncopation and how the accompaniment and the melody fit together. Iâve loved this tune for a long time and never knew what it was called. Croninâs Hornpipe! On their âLong Black Veilâ Album, The Chieftains play this tune as part of the song âChanging Your Demeanor,â and I listen to it whilst driving to work (especially on days when I need to change my demeanor before I am ready to face other human beings).
