This must have been quite a hit in 1940. We need to see more little gems like this one. Thank you for finding and uploading it. Subscribing.

Leisurely-paced pre- Civil War showbiz melodrama. Good cast muddling through an episodic plot.

Henry sure has a beautiful daughter that looks just like him.... 😊 And I love his granddaughter Bridget. My favorites with B are "It Could Happen to You" (Nicolas Cage) and "Kiss of the Dragon" (with Jet Lee.)

Young Henry and Linda, typecast but believable Guy, Jane, John and Dorothy. For the lion's handler I was surprised at the "meat" of his role. Casting of all supporting actors was genius. Thanks for sharing!

After Dorothy leaves for the rival outfit with the elephant, you just knew that the only solution was for Linda to do the bareback act in tights. They could have put Dorothy onto the jumbo in a miniskirt ...

Liberal or Leftist? There is a difference, because a liberal would not protest out in front of a restaurant just to harass someone he disagrees with politically.

Al Meggs, Whatever do you mean? Before the 90s liberal was anti-war, pro humanity, anti-imperialist, pro union and more ideals that today are the opposite of what liberal has been perverted to mean. His kids (in their 70s and 80s) are just fine, having had meaningful lives reconciling past hurts....something we all must do.
