I’d prefer they have a livable wage instead of living on tips, tips just make companies legally not need to pay the employee.
You see those “man tips $2,000” feel good stories.
But how about if no one tipped $2,000, because the worker was already financially stable?

Well last year shit went pretty bad and I couldn't afford to tip him that much and eventually I stopped ordering. I ran into him last month. He said he thought I moved. @@lizziedrucker9586 - ever since i was a kid myself, the thought of raising children my whole life seemed horrible lol. Watching my parents argue and bicker constantly, 2 people who seemingly have nothing in common and don't enjoy each other's company but built an entire life together because "it was time to have kids" and that's just "what people do", engrained in me from a young age what a fucked up dynamic that was and how it's even more fucked up that it's what society seems to push as "normal". The lazy dad who just wants to drink beer and watch football, the naggy wife who never wants her husband to drink beer and watch football, the shithead kids who run around screaming, that is what was constantly painted as a "normal life" most places you looked and i could just never wrap my head around that.
Now at 35, it's even truer than it used to be. Despite the fact that i did get married, it's a completely different dynamic lol and we spent YEARS listening to the "oh just wait, you'll get a couple years older and realize how bad you want kids, you'll realize you have to do it before you get to old and can't enjoy things the same" and SO MANY people just couldn't comprehend that we so legitimately wanted nothing to do with it. The argument is to do it while you're young because you'll get too old? So spend the prime fucking years of my life changing diapers and dealing with temper tantrums because it will suck worse to deal with that when i'm older? SO WHY DO IT AT ALL THEN ?!?! i'll keep my time and money for myself i think, barely enough of both to go around as it is lol
I'm sure raising kids can be wonderful for some people, doesn't mean we're all expected to do it. There are a million ways to fulfill your life, don't let anyone else tell you what requires.

But do not ever, ever, EVER let anyone tell you that you should or that life is more "complete" with a family. Families are hard. If I had had a family, no way in hell could this project ever have come to be. Would anybody have hired me to work on it in the context of a job? From most things I've heard about the world, I doubt it. And even then, easily half my effort would have gone to family, meaning I wouldn't be anywhere near as far along as I am. So I maintain my stance: Solve the worlds problems -first-. -Then- have a family. because once the kids are there, they aren't waiting. the clock is ticking. The way to play the game is to become the best in whatever you want to do, find a good organization and create a strong team of co-dependence and self-interest. Do not spread yourself out unless you really have to. You will only fuck up your mentality and identity having to change all the time and going in different directions. I did the math and it basically costs the same to heat or cool a home, light a room, have cable or netflix, and pay rent or property taxes for both singles and couples, but a couple potentially has 2 incomes, which means many singles are already paying more for everything, that couples share. And even when things do cost couples more like increased energy consumption, the rate rarely doubles. Singles don't benefit from joint tax filing, or family plans. Couples can share nearly everything from the couch they sit on to the pots and pans in the kitchen. But I'm frequently told that we have to help families...Take that sob story elsewhere. Just because couples didn't think to buy birth control with all the money they saved not being single, dosen't obligate me to subsidize their life. I'm not saying don't help the less fortunate but politicians can quit trying to pull on my heart strings with talk of struggling families. It's not just families who are struggling...maybe just refer to us all as struggling Americans, that seems more accurate 🤔

I work 55 hours a week delivering Uber Eats. I put 40,000 miles a year on my car. Ruining the value all so I can make $1300 a week. Absolute joke of a profession. Terrible pay, and terrible tippers.

I tried out driving jobs for a while and I realized the same thing you did. Its vital to add up ALL the expenses accurately and do a profit and loss calculation every week. If the bottom line is that you are only making $3 an hour then its time to bail out. Companies like Uber have squeezed out all the profits, which go to the corporate mangers and investors while the workers starve. It basically just repackaged slavery.

a car is a depreciating asset you were not gonna get what u put into especially as a work vehicle with a ton of miles. You can blame delivery jobs, or look at car manufacturers that turned owning a vehicle in a fashion accessory u change every couple years.
