Ladies, you’ve just been introduced to the most talented metal band playing today. Listen to this track again, focusing on the high notes in the chorus and ask yourself if you’ve ever heard a more powerful delivery? Then if I tell you Asami, the vocalist, comes from an R&B background then perhaps only Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston would be a fair comparison. Now you have to check out the ladies in a live setting. Personally I suggest “Thunder Vengeance” from their Zepp Diver City Tokyo performance in 2020 as it’s the show opener. I promise you won’t be able to tell any discernible difference in quality between their live playing and the studio quality you just heard. And we Lovebites fantatics have adopted the term “Wolf Pack” as the band uses the wolf heavily in their album artwork.
Lovebites are heavily inspired by 80s metal, especially New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, and European Power Metal. In this particular song, they stylized it after Iron Maiden's Aces High as tribute or homage of sorts, as Iron Maiden are hugely influential to them. Not so much Dragonforce, although you aren't the first ones to make that comparison.
The next I suggest "Holy War" live Zepp divercity Tokyo 2020. Lovebites the team of five thrashpower metal godesses. Nice reaction and analysis. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist, and some of their songs feature her on the piano. They are amazing live. You should next check out “Holy War” live: czcams.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/video.html If you want to see what they do with the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” czcams.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/video.html Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. Other live songs to check out are "Rising" czcams.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/video.html "Edge of the World" czcams.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/video.html And "We the United" czcams.com/video/8Xucyl_GbGY/video.html These last two should be done back to back, as they were actually performed in the concert, because they form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” czcams.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/video.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) "When Destinies Align" czcams.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/video.html "Glory to the World" czcams.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/video.html and "Winds of Transylvania" czcams.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/video.html. The most insanely talented metal band and one of the best LIVE bands playing today PERIOD!!! How much talent is in this band well try Edge of the World LIVE (czcams.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/video.html), piano intro, bluesy vocals, weeping guitar, then transitions that will blow you away. Four songs in one but done the way only Lovebites can and man are they flawless and high energy LIVE. Anything these women do from MV, Studio, Live or even Anime Theme is well worth your time as the experience is second to none. Petite models all 5' or under except Miyako at 5' 2", but once they put on those high heels (they play LIVE in them) and white dresses they turn into Metal Goddesses you won't soon forget!!!
Tribute song to *Iron Maiden* . Clear allusions to "Aces High", and maybe also to "Back in the village (again)", both of them on Maiden's "Powerslave" album (1984).
"Nice discovery "?!! C'mon girls.... You've just discovered the 'Absolutely Best Hidden Treasure' of Metal Music or any music genre possibly. Check-out any of their Live videos (in Tokyo). They will rival , probably out performed ANY Band / Group / artist past and present. That is how amazingly good they are, almost a 'Perfect Band'... Guaranteed !!!
Lovebites is awesome. I am glad you checked them out and seemed to like them. Please do more of them. For the next song I recommend "Holy War" live. czcams.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/video.html
That was actual concert footage in the video. They were on tour with Dragonforce during their 2021 tour. Such an amazing band! Unfortunately the bass player Miho had to leave the band. If you want to hear more from them check out Holy War live or Set The World On Fire live
The Crusade is a bit out of the norm for Lovebites. I mean it’s basically a tribute to iron maiden. Their normal stuff is extremely heavy in comparison to this. Break the wall, Shadowmaker, Thunder Vengeance, Hammer of Wrath, Set the world on fire. All of lovebites music is exceptional, but those are easily their heaviest work with exceptional guitar solo’s and unison lines. Check them out, Asami’s vocals are unique, when I first heard them I wasn’t sold on her, but they grew on me.
All of their music is basically a tribute to maiden.Don't yoou know the story? Miho had a vision right from the start and insisted with Haruna that they play the structure oMaiden e.g. bass driven, twin guitar feed off and operatic vocalist, with fantastical/theatrical narratives. Unfortunately, the band may ttry to move out of the structure now that she has left The only differences that they are heavier.look at maiden's 1st 7 albums and there was similar variety.
@@Rowlph8888 nah it’s not, their most recent albums have moved into thrash, a lot of influence from Metallica, Slayer. Their works like golden destination, Shadowmaker, and others were 100% influenced by Iron Maiden, and German powermetal
Songs like Break the Wall, Thunder Vengeance, Set the World on Fire, are very much influenced by late 80's thrash. Miyako's solo from Thunder Vengeance is 100% inspired by Kirk Hammett, It sound exactly like something that you would hear from him.
@@christopherlidster3918 Dude, this is not my opinion, and it's not debatable, this is directly from interviews from lovebites. The basic structure is maiden, and in every song, as I said, with the bass leading the twin guitar feed off.For example, Metallica do not have a twin guitar feed off and their music is not led by the bass. The heavier, and faster variations that they come out with, were decisions to branch into other forms, but keeping the essential structure. Maiden also have a lot of variety and have touched on thrash and power metal, at times, but never went beyond a certain speed or heaviness to the extreme, as lovebites have

"We are LOVEBITES! And we play.... HEAVY METAL"
We are WOLFPACK! And we support our power-metal princesses from JAPAN!
LOVEBITES - The Crusade lyrics:
Walking in shadows, immersed in deception
While hiding our agony, faking a smile
Pulling the trigger to lose my religion
All of the truth ends up murdered by lies
Dancing with demons, they seem to be fond of me
Let’s start the ritual for the revenge
Pulling the trigger to burn non-believers
Being the odd one out drives me insane
I’m a fool in disguise
You’d never realize
Found myself in its song
Where else would I belong?
Break free
Fight to live on, forever strong
Break free
Heart made of steel, show me what’s real
Deep down
My heartbeat and blood burning with love
Deep down
It’s time to begin the crusade
Wanting an answer, but losing myself
While I’m hiding my anger behind empty smiles
Pulling the trigger to punish the traitors
All of your words were just nothing but lies
Crawling in chaos, I’m losing my breath, tell me
What do you see through your sinister eyes?
Pulling the trigger to kill the oppressors
I had no choice but to hide when I cried
Found myself in its song
Where else would I belong?
Break free
Always believe, hope is the key
Break free
Heart made of steel, knight of ordeal
Deep down
Destroy the restraints, never again
Deep down
It’s time to begin the crusade
Break free
Fight to live on, forever strong
Break free
Heart made of steel, show me what’s real
Deep down
My heartbeat and blood burning with love
Deep down
Be true to yourself and your beliefs
It’s time to get up and breath

A good review of yours. Dragonforce, yes, they toured in England with Dragonforce in 2018. Lovebites is a rather young band founded in 2016.
