- Hua Lampong Train Station Bangkok will probably close in the near future, but for now trains are still running. There is a very nice exhibition at the station where you can visit different locations in Hua Lampong. It's a great day out for the family.
It is the perfect way to say farewell to the Old station and see all the nice parts of it. There are several stamp locations in the station where you can collect stamps on a booklet. When you have 10 stamps you can collect a memorial set that includes a key chain and postal stamps.

Sawatdee pi mai, Jeroen! Great video about such a remarkable place in Bangkok!
Thank you Mate for taking us on this station tour before it became a museum. Cheers
Excellent video with diversity on the subject of quality life in Thailand. The downside is the apparent absence of the Asian element and especially Thailand.
Thank you very much for sharing
Cute museum
The passport with space for stamps could be a really cool tourist thing to encourage people to self direct their time in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, etc.
Bangkok Hua Lampong Railway Station will remain in the good memory of Thai people forever.
When I was a child we always traveling by this Giant they had a lot of smoke.
Men and Trains. It's like a magnet for us. Nice small exhibtion and funny idea with the gift :)
These old locomotives are 'nostalgic gold' and thank you for this footage. Brilliant, they even have an air of romanticism about them...just my personal feelings, nothing weird. Well done.
Love that old station with a beautiful and an amazing view. Love your Camera is very clean and very good.👍👍♥️♥️
Stellar episode which is historical gold!
Very interesting. Hope they preserve the station in some fashion. Imagine what a cool market it could make. Talk about a real train night market! Wow. Or maybe make it a museum or art gallery.
The last years there were the Low Coast Airplanes. Cheap and faster. But 20 years ago, everybody traveled by train. 🙏
Wish I could be there.
I love Hua Lamphong! This was a fun video. Glad SRT made this initiative to keep people interested in a nice piece of history and architecture. Cute present as well! #GTMTime
😀😀😀
What a good idea to stamp and discover hua lampong.. 👍 will miss this place for sure... Happy new year GT 🙏
The SRT has confirmed that the Hua Lamphong station will not be shut down and will continue to operate as before, but only partially closed for renovations.
I'm amazed at how quickly Thailand gets things done and the amount of money it has to get new construction built.
I feel so lucky to have passed through this station multiple times. Gonna miss Hua Lampong!
Very cool seeing the old trains, and the old station…..
First time the public is allowed up the balcony? Than it's a unique view indeed!
hi, so sad about this train station, hope they keep it as a historic treasure,
A lot of old history in this video today jereon, peace and happiness as always
Hua Lamphong Train Station was a project of the Italian architect Mario Tamagno, who together with his colleague Annibale Rigotti designed different projects for the renovation and modernization of Bangkok at the beginning of XX th Century.
A piece of Italy and Neo-Renaissance Style in the heart of the city!
Great Video and nice experience!
So classic design.Vintage architecture.
Oh my memories of travel Without flying started and stopped there.
Thanks Jeroen for this nice video. And I couldn’t be there before 16th which you keep reminding in the video 😌
R.I.P . I have been using the station since 1978 but now it's time to move on .
Very nice historical train station 🚉 footage for us from Bangkok. Happy New Years 2022...
Hello my friend, thank you for the new tour of the Hua Lamphong Train Station terminal, close to closing and being moved to the new terminal, Bang Sue central station. A tour that will be historical.👍👍
So nice to see this Video for me, maybe the last time. I traveled so many times by train from this station in all the years. But never been on the Bordes/Landing. Very nice to see it now! 🙏
Thank you for sharing this.
I do hope that the situation of Hua Lamphong will end up the same as "Don Muang Airport" which was supposed to be replaced by "Suvarnabhumi Airport"
By that time they tried to close DMA, and turn it into other use (commercial complex etc.).
However, DMA now is very important, and has plans to build more terminals/facilities ??
I think more and more people oppose the idea to close the History site, Hua Lamphong.
Wonderful looking station and locomotives 👍😊
The reason for the portraits of Rama V, Chulalongkorn, are because he brought the train to Thailand for the first time. That, and ending slavery, are his most notable accomplishments.
Another excellent video!
Zoals gebruikelijk! Ik ben overmorgen in Krungthep. Ik ga zeker kijken.
Thank you very much for the video! So much good information!
Hua Lampong will remain open after wide debate of the earlier unilateral decision by the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) to close and move all activities to Bang Sue. After listening to public comments, the government decided to revoke the SRT's decision and order it to open but reduce number of trains in and out of the station.
Love Hua Lampong Bangkok Station, SRT will keep in operation with may be about 22 destination remain. To be final soon.
👍👍👍❤️
Last week I have read somewhere that they decided to keep the station open
nice
WOWMTHIS VIDEO BROUGHT ME BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD I WAS BORN IN A SMALL PORT CALLED PROGESO IN THE YUCATAN PENINSULA,AND MY HOUSE WAS RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE TRAIN STATION! ALSO YOU MENTIONED TRAIN 850 BEING IN AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS A VERY FAMOUS MEXICAN COMEDIAN PLAYED PASSEPARTOUT THE STAGE NAME OF THE ACTOR WAS CANTINFLAS THAT IN MEXICAN SAPNISH WAS VERY FUNNY HE ALWAYS TALKED TOO MUCH BUT HIS WORDS DIDNT MAKE SENSE FROM HIM WHEN SOMEONE TALKS LIKE THAT CAME THE WORD CANTINFLEAR! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT VIDEO JEROEN I WISH I COULD GO TO THAILAND TOMORROW BUT WITH THE VIRUS SPREADING SO FAST I AM NOT EVEN GOING TO MERIDA WHICH IS ONLY 500 KMS AWAY,BUT AS ALWAYS YOUR VIDEOS ARE SO GOOD!
Bangkok Hua Lampong Railway Station will remain in the good memory of Thai people forever.
Thank you for your reply. We visited Yucatan about 15 years ago. I was very impressed by the temples everywhere. We stayed in Cancun. I think Tulum made the most impression on us.
My question can be dumb but untill what time is it open?
Wasn't Hua Lampong built some time less than 20 years ago? Or was it the metro part that was built back then?
Yes, the Metro is new. The original station was built in 1916.
I don’t understand why they have to close it, why can’t they just turn it into a redline station by building plateformes under it.
I think the space around it is worth a pretty penny for developers.
@@globaltravelmate That’s the problem, the developers don’t get to decide, the public does, where is the public consultation process? Many train stations in Europe have being running for a century, the developers there got to develop the surrounding areas without having to close historic landmarks.
I‘ll. take a look at this one more time before it closes last time i was there was in 2006
