I don't think I've this song before, the original Beatles version is so good, I love your reaction to the lyrics.❤❤ Now for the Yes version... Wow, even a bit of Day Tripper thrown in! Amazing, totally different version The great thing about Beatles songs is that almost anyone can put their own spin on it and make their version their own, rather than just copying it. For a different style of Beatles song, try reacting to Oh Darlin or Helter Skelter
I agree. In my mind, the Beatles were revolutionary... they changed rock forever. Their songwriting, for their time, kept us in awe and we all eagerly awaited their next album to hear what new sound they were going to come up with next. Yes, on the other hand, were probably the most gifted musicians rock has ever seen together in one band. Their music was breathtaking and probably the most intricate of any band ever. Someone once said that if Mozart and Beethoven were rock musicians they'd be in Yes. Each member of the band in their glory days from 1971 -- 1975 were simply unmatched in their technical ability. And, in their own way were equally as adept in songwriting as the Beatles although their genres were quite different...the Beatles became pop gods; Yes became progressive rock's high royalty .
If a cover is going to be done on a song you definitely want YES to do it. On the other hand you might not want them to because they might and probably would do it better.🤩
Jon Anderson is one of my favourite vocalists so I've always liked this cover. However, Yes' version lacks the romantic feel of the original. I send a love song to my sweetheart every morning. Tomorrow's song will be Every Little Thing but by The Beatles. Thanks for choosing these two!
The Beatles put it down in a very unspectacular way, a very simple and lovely love song, as u say. Yes powered it up to a high energetic jazz/rock/prog cover, typical for the late sixties, but also very unique and special as only yes could be - and also they keep the spirit of the original simple song. Great!
I have asked sooo many reactors to do exactly what you’re doing here! Both incredible bands, both songs great! Another great pair of songs to compare are America; first by Simon and Garfunkel, then by Yes. I know you will love them both!
YES can take a simply, playable song and make it a complex, extended, and very difficult to play (I know..I play a bass and Chris Squires (RIP)) is MY hero) song. I truly love both versions, in their own right! Try AMERICA written and played by Simon & Garfunkel and also done by YES. Simple & beautiful to complex and incredible.
Cynthia there is one more Beatles song that Yes covered the song is called " i'm down" Yes did a live version in 1976 released on the Yes Years box set. I Saw that song performed live in concert.
I could do without that crazy intro by Yes, I still prefer the Beatles original version. Beatles for Sale is one of my top 5 Beatles albums, I just love it.
Hi my dear... sorry I missed the premiere, but at that time, I usually sleep, since you know that I have to get up very early for work... but HEY ! Was that the "rebirth" of the weekend special that I once suggested you to do regularly every weekend ? That was a real surprise for me ! And wow ! It was new for me that Yes covered a Beatles song ! And what can i say ? Both sounded like the song was their own. Your thoughts at the end were lovely and correct. I really enjoyed this one ! Talking about originals and covers... here are some more suggestions for weekend specials : The Supremes - You can't hurry love & Cover by Phil Collins (These two versions actually sound pretty similar and are NOT like two completely different versions) David Bowie - Life on Mars & Cover by Aurora Etta James - I'd rather go blind & Cover by Sean Webster and the Dead Lines Hugs and kisses from your dear friend Gerry
Hi Cynthia. Could you do “Into the Storm” from Fly From Here (Return Trip). For various complicated reasons, this is the Drama (Machine Messiah) lineup, but this version is from 2017 I think. So basically released posthumously after Chris died (I’m pretty sure). It’s amazing and at the end contains part of another song you’ve reacted to. What is it? The Yes version is awesome but to a particular taste..however the Beatles are the Beatles and their audience draws a wide span of listeners who love all sorts of music.
Omg what a beautiful song😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

My favorite Yes cover is Simon and Garfunkels ‘America’, you should try it!
The two best bands ever!!!

You just made the yes band members extremely happy

Great reaction! I love both versions. Next try the Yes cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s America.
I was just thinking the same thing!

Has there ever been a Beatles cover that’s ever been better than the original. I’m thinking probably not.

Thanx for this one Cynthia, IMO this is an underrated Beatles Gem
Good to see you back with another music video.

Love the Yes version, but always like the Beatles too.
I dont know about that live chat. I think I am.out? Good to see you. Chat soon. You look great.
Steve Howe isn’t on Every Little Thing though he did play it with Yes in 2003 on Songs From Tsongas dvd.
Thanks for playing older Yes. You never hear that. :)

Interesting, this is 60s Yes, or proto-Yes
The Yes version is awesome but to a particular taste..however the Beatles are the Beatles and their audience draws a wide span of listeners who love all sorts of music.
You should really dig into this album ☺️
an album of cover songs, interesting but not their best work
The worst Beatles cover I've ever heard!
