Ok I'm watching this in 2021 and wow she looks like hed grandma. So happy she got to meet her dad but its even more happy that her grandma still keeps in contact and keeps that bond with her granddaughter.

I feel this is a real magical moment! Mental illness is something that is beyond difficult, I’m a retired RMN, of 40 years. It’s not treated properly as it should be. Balance hasn’t been quite found as yet. I loved this story. Sad Dad was so overwhelmed, it was obvious from the start he was struggling. But time is helpful and Nan is a beautiful person who will be there for her. Strong ladies x

You can really tell that he never in a million years imagined that something like this would happen to him. He’s shook and taken aback as I’m sure anyone else would feel if you yourself thought you could never produce an offspring. He probably needs time to think about it all. Hope they’re in each other’s lives today.

This man is a familiar face, guarantee you'll find him at Paknsave porirua every now n then too. He seems like a broken man, but hes human at the end of the day too! Having a loving family doesnt mean you won't get experience lifes lows, but I pray he comes through one day for her!

I'm crying right now, just to know that he can produce a child is wonderful, he'd never had a child, but now this is so amazing. Right in the celebration of fathers day....I lost my dad at a very young age and never experienced guidance from a father. I have been race mostly by my older sisters and myself. Since my mom was overseas to make some money for our education. But i was a failure. Now trying to make ends meet specially this hard time of the pandemic. And still trying to look for that fatherly love...

I’m so sorry that this was triggering for you. I cried to it was a bittersweet reunion. I’m sure that you are not a failure. Please don’t say that about yourself, that comment made me feel extremely sad…. Sometimes life can throw a lot at you and sometimes without that stable male influence in a persons life, to guide and teach you when you are younger can make life’s challenges harder as we are not as well equipped as others. Life is hard and it’s hard to get on track sometimes, but if you believe in yourself things will be so much easier for you. I did go and meet my dad when I was 18. He did know about me. But we became close and I'm happy for that now when he is gone

I'd like a friendly warm Samoan grandmother. My own Maori grandmother was a fierce matriarch, and while everyone respected her, there were not many hugs on offer.
She’s a smart and independent young woman and for sure she will love and look after her father 🥺🥰 what a beautiful reunion !! She’s beautiful and a darling & the way her dad embraced her is just amazing 🤩

This man has had a hard life and although he was shocked he had a child he was genuinely happy to discover he was a father. He was so emotional, even shaking. Poor man is ill, perhaps battling an addiction of some sort. I hope Moera understands that it’s not a reflection on her. So glad she has stayed close to her grandmother and the rest of her Dad’s family.
Oh my word….it’s incredible how dad’s face changed, became radiant and alive when he met his daughter. What a beautiful beginning to the next chapter of their lives ♥️

Yes, I think Jerry doesn't want her daughter to see his suffering (sickness) but running away is not the answer, please come back have a good relationship with your daughter because life is too short. Every moment you spent with your daughter it's precious. Hope you understand. I was going through the same situation, my parents divorced and they do whatever they like. But I stay with my Nana sometimes go to my uncle house stay with them. So I understand how to not have a father, even both nothing to compare.

Please HELP! It's not a perfect world. We all make mistakes in life, whether intentional or accidental, that is happening wonderfully here. Wow! what the wonderful moment in both Jerry and Moera's life, great reunion along with her grandma. This reunion reminded us the gift God has designed the world to live generationally. The society we live in is about managing continuity and change, the inevitables of life, we always go through changes whether it's personal, problem with our marriages, family, community, ministry, etc. And continuity moves slow and succession, making transitions, and so change is critical. The most important thing in that, is to be able to know what to change, and what to continue. Because, if you change what you should continue, you lose your identity. If you continue what you should change, you become irrelevant, and not every knows how to manage those things carefully. Thank you David Lomas Lost & Found!

Though I have absolutely no idea what is in the father's head, I get the feeling he has some self esteem issues and thinks he isn't good enough to be a father to her. But she doesn't need someone perfect, she doesn't need money or a provider at her age. She just needs an occasional hug and maybe a shoulder to lean on. Luckily the grandmother can at least be part of her life. I really feel Mr. Lomas should have sensed that early on as well, and not only explained this to him... but explained to the daughter as well. Maybe things would have worked out a little different. But hopefully they reconnect in time and grow closer.
