You get companies coming up with all these overly complicated alternative meat products. And then this badass comes along with a mushroom.
They want you to eat processed junk food that f you up.
Its better to eat fresh meat or the mushroom than eat these b.s alternatives
Mushrooms are the only meat alternatives that are fascinating to me. Some are basically just meat without the animal
Why don’t we use this as plant based alternatives, cultivated and grown in labs 😮
😮 Even the pink colour in the centre of it is spot on!
Fun fact, mushrooms are more closely related to humans than plants.
The ancients callled them the flesh of the gods. And used them for rituals for profound spiritual wisdom
@@WhackTony You need to learn the difference between facts and theories my guy.
Fun fact, elementary school students shouldn’t be commenting on youtube.
I can’t get over what Mother Nature produces and I can’t get over what you create with Lions Mane.
It literally taste like steak too! I saw it at my job so I got one after my shift, tried it for the first time today, I was shocked.
@@amyballin7628Lion's mane.... but I've heard it tastes like crab. I don't know but I'm trying my 1st one tomorrow
I wish they served stuff like this at restaurants
Worked in restaurants for 25 years. This isn’t new. Before the vege burger there was always portobello burgers.
You're not going to fancy enough restaurants. They serve this exact thing at restaurants.
Yeah no comparison to Portabela mushrooms! Lions mane is super pricey I can’t imagine what they’d have to charge in a restaurant. But it’s worth the time and money to make it at home. When ever I can find it I make it until my money runs out. Lol
There is another mushroom called Perrisol Pils in German, literately umbrella mushroom, the caps are huge and tender, you can bread them and fry them like chicken or veal cutlets, they’re delicious , they grow everywhere in Germany, you pick them early morning when they open up their caps, just leave stems in the ground , and it will grow again and again , limitless supply
Sorry i am looking up.the mushroom & only pills pop up, what is the name?
They should serve this at steakhouses for when vegans/vegetarians are brought to a steakhouse by their friends. Win/win!
I wouldn’t go to a steakhouse in the first place even if they had vegan options. I’m still paying an evil company which will result in them paying for more beef.
@@muzikveoyun37 they pay for the animal industry to murder millions of innocent animals a year just for their own taste pleasure and profit.
Lions mane and lobster tail mushrooms is gonna be my next experimental meal 😇💖
Sir, I'm gonna need your cookbook with this recipe in it✋
The transformation is incredible. Looks amazing
@@jaredmigues5995i agree. I would like to know what it is marinated in ❤
I want to see the entire video!!!
I've recently discovered adding oyster or shiitake mushrooms to ramen. It has a meaty texture. This is next level. YUM
I’m no vegan but I would eat Lion’s mane mushroom steak just because I like mushrooms.
@messageLuis_SporesonIG Usually Sprouts or Whole Foods but my aunt is bringing some home for me from a farmer’s market in Oregon.
@@bitmelody2616 still you dont have to be vegan to eat vegetables, talking about all vegetables. 🤦♂️
Finally a non meat alternative that looks worth trying !!!!!!
Holy Crap that looks absolutely delicious.
Yas 👏🏾 plz open their eyes to the hundreds of mushrooms in the world cause they think we just out here eating lettuce and tomatoes lol
Man, I am so glad I found you. Awesome and delicious looking recipes. I can't wait to try.
It don't get no better than this ❤️

Link to the recipe?❤
I am a meat lover but I really want to try this!
So when are you going on Guga Foods or inviting him into your Kitchen or even Uncle Roger
I just made the non-marinated version... closest alterative to the texture I've ever had!!
It's so simple. Growing them just as simple. Your culinary artistry is so convincing I would be afraid to eat it.
What did you marinade it with to get that pink color?
@@DerekSarnoChef but in your other video you talk about how the marinade colored this one all the way through, unlike in the full video? I’m confused
Omg this looks good ❤❤❤
OMMMMGGGG WHERE IS THIS RESTAURANT 🙏🏾🥰 LOOKS BETTER THAN REAL STEAK
We'll have offshoots of these, as a course at some of wickedkitchen.com/events/ Supper Clubs
Just made this a few days ago. No restaurant needed. It is so easy to make at home. 10/10. Was absolutely delicious.
@@overpricedhealthcare They are available at farmers markets and I got mine most recently at the Ballard farmers market in Seattle. It's about 15 dollars a pint container and $20 (it was two large mushrooms) will provide 3-4 servings. It's also sometimes available at natural grocery stores and I've gotten them there several times. Keep in the mind that though it has the texture of steak it doesn't COOK the same as a steak. It takes literally 45 minutes to an hour to cook and you don't want it undercooked. You're flipping it about every five minutes on medium to low heat in a cast iron skillet until you get a nice golden brown crust on it and much of the liquid is gone. You want to squish it down as it cooks till it's fairly flat. It will shrink to half or less in size. A few days ago I had some in just garlic butter and salt which turned out amazing.
OH MY........ Well Done Chef, looks Amazing !!.. 👍👍
Good lord I can't stop drooling 😋
I didn't believe it but I just watched the long video. I'm astonished
This literally looks like meat, just amazing
@@debrachase809Mushrooms belong to the Fungi kingdom, meaning they are neither plants, nor animals… HOWEVER, fungi are closer related to animals than plants, so basically the edible parts of mushrooms can be called meat.
@@glucosepouchesplease don’t tell me you consider mushrooms growing as them moving
@@kels--sponges and corals are animals yet they're stationary, whats your point? And he's right that fungi are closer to animals than plants because fungi dont photosynthesize

That is insane looking, and I want it! I was legit confused for a second when I saw the thumbnail.
Lions mane also repairs your brain, this is great
I still can't believe it haha. Looks amazing
That looks real af 😮...
It's almost terrifying
He fries the lions mane mushroom then marinades it for 1.5 days to 2 days, hence the pink color inside, then froes it again. He puts beat juice garlic and spices, I watched his video on the whole process.
Amazing editing bro
PLEASE SHARE THE MARINADE!!!! I’m salivating. I haven’t eaten meat in many years and I want that. Need the pink stuff lol thank you “WICKED”😊😊
LOVE you and your PUP- we sooo appreciate you!
I didn't stop eating meat because I didn't like the taste. I stopped because I hated the animal cruelty behind. Same with eggs, milk and honey. Thank you Derek.
I would love to know what exactly to marinate it in and put on this. I looked at the playlist suggested and I am only finding bbq marinades. Will you be sharing the recipe soon? My Dad has been begging me to make this. Just don’t know how.♥️
There are some other lions mane videos showing the technique, we'll be sharing this at some point in the future.
This is insane. I need to make this
Absolutely incredible!
This is something I would 100% order at a restaurant
Omg this looks so real and incredible!! I want to try it! Ironically, I just saw lions mane in the store last week. Did you get that color from beet root powder?
@@omnium_gatherumthe answer is yes. He uses beetroot powder for the meaty colour in his other vids.
I hope you do a whole video on this technique!
Can't wait to see what the marinade is. This looks like the best ever home made bar none.
First time ive looked at one of these and thought, "yes id wolf that down" 😂
Just ordered my lion mane kit can’t wait to try it !! Thanks for the introduction to a new variety for me anyway 😊
I honestly thought it was meat 🤢. Holy 🤬. Friggin Amazing 💚💚💚💚🌱🌱🌱🌱
Your demonstrations of what can be achieved w/mushrooms using the correct process and recipe is always exciting and inspirational.
The common negative opinions surrounding mushrooms mainly due to stigma and bad experiences is really unfortunate, I hope more ppl like you create a significant trend that'll help reverse that one day.
Shrooms are amazing when they're cooked right!
It looks just like a steak! I hear it tastes great, too! I am blown away! I must farm Lions Mane Mushrooms!
I love mushrooms so much and need ti try this for real
I’m going to make this and crab cakes with the lion’s mane for a surf and turf!😋😋😋
Where do you buy the lions mane mushroom? It’s hard to find. Their usually in powder forms
I came across your channel the very same day I tried a Wicked pesto sauce for the first time. The Universe is telling me something! (I can go veggie!)
My new YT friend that has no clue I exist. You are changing life for us plant people! Game changer for real
Wow that actually looks so good, You can almost forget It's a fungi
So what is the texture like? Is it chewy like a regular mushroom? Looks divine!
Omgsh YAAAS love mushroom steaks.

Lion's Manes have got to be the best mushrooms. They're a bit hard to come by, but amazing
finally saw someone cooking this mushroom instead of just them finding it in the forest telling me what it tastes like

It looks good but dose it taste good also what about protein???

Did you grind the mushroom up and make a patty? I thought you normally just sauté a chunk of it.
Best part is that it's incredibly good for you
