This weapon does a surprising amount of poise damage. You can poise break trolls by kicking them in the balls and its fantastic.

Excellent stuff as always Moxsy. One thing i noticed in the dlc is that most weapons you get have multiple stat scaling making them shine in very high level builds. Rellana's sword for example has 4 different stats scaling it making it a weapon that will just keep and keep growing till very late game.

i personally took great shield talisman instead of the blood talisman, but for the bleed damage buff i took white mask.. and as armor leda‘s armor, boosts attacks after dodging 😅

Palm blast can work really well if you're going for quality or str build.
Cool vid! Fun to see all the different martial art builds. Just one thing: Golden vow and Commanders standard do not stack as they are both Aura buffs. So you‘ll only use one of them.
Hey moxsy have you gotten the armour set where the legs increase kicking damage? The Golden Bird Warrior set
Did you even look at the attacks? You don't get a unique L1 attack at all, it's the same as the normal Dryleaf Arts combo when it's two-handed. Literally the same attacks. Same damage. All you're doing by using them both is having extra weight (which doesn't matter, they weigh pretty much nothing to begin with) and you lose the ability to block (which to be fair, why would you try to block with these, but still.)
this, absolutely misleading regarding l1, tho i was curious how these would look powerstanced. Also stated in many HtH build guides that the talisman does in fact increases just the kick attacks of this weapon as well
Yeah I think only the animation changes. Footwork makes more kick attacks (so maybe it has more stagger ?) Also dryleaf r2 ends after third it while footwork continiously strikes 2 combos. Btw using both makes your r1 attack much slower.
Dane's Footwork - 3 kicks at start, same middle strings, 1 kick at end (Light attack combo, two-handed)
Dryleaf Arts - 2 punches, same middle strings, 2 hand palm strike at end (Light attack combo, two-handed)
Dane's Footwork - 2 kicks first heavy, second heavy is 1 punch + kick
Dryleaf Arts - 1 kick + 1 punch first heavy, 2nd heavy is double palm strike
Big thing, Dane's Footwork gets the damage bonus from Shattered Stone Talisman (So it does more damage than Dryleaf Footwork), only downside is when coming to stunlock enemies the 1st charged is slightly slower than dryleaf arts
@@vector2993 I know the difference between Dryleaf and Dane's. What I'm saying is, you do not get a "unique" attack animation by using one in your right hand, and the other in your left, and attacking with L1 like this dude said. You get the exact same attack animations and damage that you would get from two-handing dryleaf.
I Really dig this build. What's your opinion on using Ledas armor? Saw that is adds dmg each time you roll or back step and it looks kinda monky
those attacks you can do with just the dryleaf in main hand, its not exclusive to the dante. i dont have Dante and im able to do that. idk what the difference between the weapons are tho since it seems like they have the same stats

I am also currently running the Danes footwork and I equipped the devine bird warrior greaves as it increases all kick damage
im thinking about using dante with flame stirke affinity in the left hand, then the regualrd dry leaf with cold affinity, its perfect the main hand with the whilrwind is stacking frost build up and when that procs using dantes flame hits to reset the cold build up is OP.
Nice build, I had the same idea and putting either bleed or frost on the martial arts weapons makes them SO much better
Theres even a possibility for a cool hand to hand build using poison/rot and dealing large burst damage via the new ash of war "poison flower blooms twice" or whatever its called, kinda similar to poison moth flight, where if an enemy is inflicted with poison or rot, itll take off a large chunk of damage.
Been doing some testing and its pretty solid build, just have to figure out the ideal stat allocation, talismans and infusion for the weapon.
As well as figure out a good way of inflicting poison or rot, you could infuse with poison but not ideal, as youd have to invest into ARC somewhat.
I'm absolutely going to do a full monk playthrough one of these days (cheating in the weapons/aow of course lmao)
The difference between footwork and leaf seems reach. Both uses same combo numbers but well, footwork, uses kicks so have bit better reach. Also leaf's r2 stops at third combo (which is kinda annoying), meanwhile footwork continuously make 2 hit combo.
Two issues I have with this build
1. Having both Dryleaf and Dane’s doesn’t make sense considering it does the same amount of damage as just two-handing Dryleaf and is also just slower and weaker than two-handing Dane’s
2. Commander standard and golden vow do not stack,
golden vow lasts longer so it’s good for if you aren’t good at blitzing the boss since it gives 15% in both ATK and DEF lasting about 80 seconds
Commander’s standard gives 20% in both ATK and DEF but only for 30 seconds, so it’s generally worse than golden vow if you take into account the possibility of not being able to kill the boss inside of those 30 seconds
im pretty sure the L1 combo with the dryleaf arts and danes footwork is just the main combo if you two hand dryleaf arts
Your take on the damage for new game, I’ve put together a few builds but the damage is lackluster all around in comparison to other weapons. IMO they aren’t good for big boss fights but cool for pvp and smaller enemies
I’m gonna be honest they’re pretty competitive with other weapons in terms of DPS but the lack of reach absolutely sucks against a lot of bosses
Golden vow and Standard should be mutually exclusive if memory serves.
Use reneshakas armor set to boost your damage a lot, I went back to base game and I was 1 shotting dungeon bosses with the whirlwind kick
for some reason i cant put dryleaf whirlwind on either of these to have bleed affinity and i have the black whetblade
Have you considered putting poison in the fists and equipping the kindred of rots exaltation for double dipping the attack boost with bleeding? Or does that not stack?
Thats a good idea for my poison monk build, that uses the ash of war "poison bud blooms twice" or whatever its called, it deals large damage to enemies that are poisoned or rotted, so adding in the kindred of rot exultation is great idea.

@jameswtlocs theres a new ash of war called poison flower blooms twice, if an enemy is poisoned or rotted and you hit them with the ash of war, it will remove the status from them but deal a large chunk of damage to them as well.
And since poison/rot is being inflicted, if you have the kindred of rot exultation talisman equipped your damage will get boosted, meaning even more damage can be dished out.
And quick ways of applying poison can be infusing your weapon with the poison affinity, using the deadly poison perfume bottle, or using craftable items like poison throwing knives, poison throwables, etc..
So you basically just poison boss, ash of war, poison boss, ash of war until dead. Insanely powerful and currently working on a build focused on this new ash of war and poison
Dryleaf and feet both have the same jumping attack when 2handed.
Is there any way to get the Dryleaf martial arts after you get the footwork or do I need to nag+ for it
A lot of the enemies in this dlc are immune to blood, frost is generally better for wider status coverage. Basically if it isn't humanoid blood will be useless. The whirlwind kick art also buffs the kick portion of both martial art weapons.
Pretty much all the main bosses aren't immune to bleed tho right? Messmer, Radahn, Rellana those are most the main story bosses and don't they all still take bleed?
@@aidanklascius4149 Resistant but not immune, I've been using dex/arc bleed and it's fine.
Wait until you see the Putrescent Knight; he's very much immune to frost(took me 40 tries to beat him, and I had to respec 3 times).

Sick build my friend! But as a semicasual, I must put drake talisman instead of that stomp/kick talisman 😅. Getting my ass kicked otherwise. Also, I dont know which one gives better damage output: shard of alexander or stomp/kick talisman...
Shard is 15%, Stomp is 10%
I was fooling around with this last night. Shard does more. Better to have both though.
Stomp/Kick is better since it effects your basic attack kicks + heavies

You can get the whirlwind kick before fighting Messmer. You just need to get to I believe the West Rampart gate grace and go out that way.

You should be able to go back through and do Alexander's quest line.
Bloods exultation should be accesssible at any point in the game too
use cheat engine to spawn it in , wont effect your game on pc

When I tested it the stone effected the kicks
Its not a unique L1 attack when power stancing, its the same L1 as the dryleaf arts two handed, but mirrored
Can you make a guide for the mesmers weapon build
Not sure if optimal but my set was Mesmer helm cause it boosts the dmg, flame scorpion talisman, miliscent prosthesis, rotten sword insignia, shard of alexander, fire tear, consecutive attack tear and golden vow/ flame grant me strength. Level up dex first then faith and str. You can get around 1/3 of the health of Bayle with one fully landed ash of war.

I cant get the Dane gloves and hat cause I already killed him before reaching the final boss, killing him there only gave me his footwork. Is there no other way to get the gloves and hat?
as far as i know no ... pretty disapointing since i wanted to get pretty much all weapons before i start the next run :(

there are the bird warrior greaves that increase kick damage. seems pretty much made for this so i think im gonna not take your advice on this one.
Alternatively, you can just go with Frost if doing an INT build.

I threw lifesteal on the fists so I can swap and get health in an emergency
I got the footwork however i dont have the other arts can i still get them because dane doesnt show up what can i do
If he doesnt show up when you follow a guide from youtube to my knowledge only way to get it is to NG+

@@LsGriizzlysame bro they just don’t do much for damage, on top of that you need to be on top of the boss. There is no reward for the risk. Honestly you will get way more damage with other builds.

He's not. You can get obliterated at 50 or 250. Sure it helps, but levels are less important to scaling in the DLC, it's all about the Scooby Doo treats and NG cycle.
