@Edwina Hatcher I agree something is very odd about the whole situation with the brother. Perhaps he was not in on the murder, but at the time had drugs on him and was scared to do anything about it? Or, was he possibly not able to function at the time of her kidnapping? It sounds strange that he heard screaming, and then witnessed her walking into the woods with what he assumed to have been her boyfriend. If a family member of mine had a heated argument, and was being led into the forest, I would be on it ASAP! The neighbor was the one that called Holly's mother :(

He abducted her in broad daylight right out of her own backyard, in front of multiple witnesses, and apparently, continued to struggle with her in view of her own brother in those woods for several minutes!! He was just one guy, and they knew the general area he’d taken her into. It’s completely outrageous that he wasn’t located before he’d had a chance to kill her. But then again that is hard to wrap my head around also because why would he call his mom....so many unanswered questions...but in the end eye witness testemonial is pretty damning and it is confusing as to why he wasn't implicated further if he knew more..also if someone kills themself I find that pretty damning also. A lot of bad police work and a drug infested community equals a botched trial. This case really bothers me.

I live in a small town in TN, a couple hours from there. I believe the brother is somehow involved. As this documentary shows, there is a lot of missing pieces. As for small town tweakers, most of the murders, solved or unsolved, have been committed by the well known families. They consist of lawyers, car dealers, judges, real estate, etc. Unless it's domestic violence or a fight at a party or bar, our murders aren't committed by tweakers. Johnny Carson said on his show all those years ago, that Lawrenceburg TN was in his top ten places not to go because of the unsolved murders. When you live here from birth though, you know who holds power, who the real criminals are.

This is fishy. The brother knew what was going on. Why would he think that she was there with her boyfriend? Why would he keep saying that she was turkey hunting with her boyfriend? It's like he was covering up for what ever happened.
Also how did they charge him with rape? If I'm not mistaken they found her remains years later and it was bones. Unless one of them confessed to rape, there is no way that they can prove it. This is absolutely one of the sloppiest investigations I've ever seen.
The guy that was testifying was lying through his teeth. The theatrics, over exaggerated hand movements, the specific details that he was recalling with ease... Lies are much more detailed than the truth. He enjoyed being up on the stand and having all that attention.

He didn't call his mom. He heard Holly and someone he presumed to be her bf arguing outside then saw them walk off into the woods. His mother then called HIM after a neighbor called her to say they heard Holly scream. Her brother told the mom what he saw and was then told it wasn't her bf but by then they were far gone. The scream most likely happened before the brother heard them arguing, as a small pool of Holly's blood was found where she had been kneeling down. By the time he heard arguing, she likely had been cut and threatened already. What's so hard to understand about that?
