What they never explicitly tell you about Charity is that she came from a rich family, she had the life Phineas is working towards, but she wasn’t happy. She left it all behind because she loved him, and even though their apartment was tiny and the ceiling leaked, she had him and their two kids. She’d take love and family over mansions and money. But PT grew up poor so he thinks money=happiness. And when she left him it wasn’t because she thought he had an affair, she was smart enough to know better. She’s honestly the movies unsung hero.

I think it's the part where "for me" is repeated in "Never Enough" while "with you" is repeated in this song that creates difference. Rather than one song being more sentimental than the other.

I went to go see The Greatest Showman with my Granny. A few days later, she died from a heart attack and it was the last movie she ever saw. I feel blessed to have spent one of her last days watching such an amazing movie. She was a musician herself and played the piano and adored this song. It’s one of my memories of her and it’s my favourite song💓💓💓
Edit: thank you so much everyone for your kind words. It’s been more than one year and I’m finally starting to deal with her passing. This song has kept me going for so long and I hope you all love it as much as I do :)
Edit x2: Never ceases to amaze me how good music brings together good people. I’ve dealt with my Granny’s loss in full. It wasn’t easy, but everyone has to go at some stage. I love how Michelle William's character showed us what's "Behind a successful man is a woman" meant. She never gave up on her love for Barnum even though he screwed up and prioritized his career over her. She is the perfect representation of "True Love". She never asks the grandest life like he promised because, for her, the real magic is him and their children. She is understanding, loving and supportive woman who deserved to be loved forever.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Michelle Williams' singing skills here? Because, first of all, the vocals are amazing. But the way she manages to link it to the film plot is so good. You can tell while by her voice that it sounds like she could break down and start crying any moment. To be able to fill a song with that much emotion is truly admirable. I really think this is one of the most underrated songs ever.

It's Pasek and Paul!! They are genius songwriters! Just listen to Requiem, Waving Through a Window, and Words Fail from the musical Dear Evan Hansen!
That is comfort zone, in La La Land, it wasn't their idea, they were replaceable, and now it's their comfort zone, catchy music and enough of meaningful words to reel people in, but the movie is not as special as La La Land.
Every time she sings "Some people won't sail the sea, 'cause they're safer on land" I can only think of Captain Jack Sparrow looking at her with disbelief and being like "What a terrible way to live!"

The song drops at "Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall" Symbolizing what happened at the start in the song A million dreams, where charity runs off and almost falls but Phineas catches him. Now she is unsure because she basically doesnt know what he is anymore.
At first, "This is Me" is the song that gave me so much inspiration. Then, I heard "Never Enough" and I was so blown away. Then comes " From Now On" and I could not stop singing to it.. Afterward I listened to "Rewrite the Stars" and I fell so much in love. After I watched the movie, "Tightrope" became the song I am connected with. All of them are equally amazing..

This song touches me and my husband, this movie really does. It shows the journey of a business owner, and this is what we have been thru. Years ago in the recession my husbands business was going under, we had nothing, we were behind on our mortgage, we had just a few dollars in our checking account, my husband wanted to totally restructure the business. Most women would walk out, call there husband crazy, etc. But I told him I trusted him and we walked the tightrope together. Since then the business has grown and made about 10 million of dollars in 2018, with no signs of slowing down. Never doubt yourself, you never know how far you can go! But its all an adventure that comes with a breath taking view, were walking the tightrope, never sure how far we could fall.

I really just fucking love this song, I’d recite the lyrics to two of my friends who weren’t in the best mental state (to put it nicely), I made it as a promise, like, “If I stay alive for you, you stay alive for me.” And the lyrics really hit differently after that. Guys, if you have a theater near you that is showing this movie, please watch it again n again if you can.
Critics are tearing this movie apart, thinking it was not realistic enough, but being realistic was never the point of this movie.
What im saying is, this movie needs all the support it can have.
The nearest theatre that is showing this in my area is 2 hours away. I cant go as often as I want to.

I don’t think people understand how good Charity’s character she was willing to give up all the money to be Barnum and was extremely loyal the whole movie. alex rollins main issue is its coming out five days after The Last Jedi. It may be fantastic, but box office wise it’s doomed.
The only question is whether the acting will live up to the grand quality of the music and the spectacle.
