    We put in a lot of research into the perfect rims and tires to replace our stock Polaris RZR Turbo S 4 rims and tires. All the research paid off with a perfect fitting set of STI HD9 Beadlock rims that come in a 6+1 offset. That is the same offset as stock and allows us to keep our already wide Turbo S about the same width.
    When looking for tires, we wanted a true truck inspired tire that is aggressive and square. One that matched the 32 x 10 sizing, unlike the stock tires that had a 7-1/2" tread width. We wanted a tire that would hold up in rough terrain and also wear well when used on the road. All the research took us to the STI X Comp ATR DOT approved tire. The STI X Comp has an awesome tread pattern that cleans out well but also has sidewall tread that helps to protect from sharp rocks. The rubber compound is not too hard and not too soft so it is a great all around tire. While it is 10 ply, it still retains a fairly soft sidewall for a good ride and the ability to air down when in the sand and perform.
    Mounting these rims and tires was very exciting as it was clear this was going to change the look of the Turbo S 4 completely. We mounted up two so we could take the machine outside and see what stock looked like compared to our upgrades side. The machine completely changed in looks. The blue machined ring on the beadlock helped to compliment the blue accents on the machine and the width of the new tire made the Turbo S look like it was ready for action.
    The stock width of the Polaris RZR Turbo S 4 is 74-3/4" in the front. With the new wider tires we gained a 1/4" taking it to 75" wide. We have no clue why Polaris was so willing to put such a small tread width tire on their new flagship machine, but it does give the owner great satisfaction to change out this tire and see what the machine should have looked like from the factory.
    We are going to continue to work with these tires and rims and bring you more feedback as the ice thaws and we can hit the trails.

    I'm not usually one to make a purchase based on an advertisement alone, but I've gotta say this is pretty convincing.. I bought the Turbo S4 in the Titanium color. I think these rims in red would look dope. I like the tires a lot too. Thanks for the vid! Also - I laughed at 0:21 when the dog got hosed with snow :-)

      Only 4 pounds heavier than the stock ITP Coyote... With that said, significantly heavier than a Bighorn and not what I would put on our X3 because of the weight.

      They have been great. Awesome road wear and great on the trails. A bit heavy and they have made the dynamics on the machine almost useless as they are too heavy for the worn in stock springs. But, overall, a great tire.

  • @newlion7013
    @newlion7013 Před 5 lety

    For mainly dirt trails they wouldbe too heavy. For desert, mtn trails & rock climbing, I went with maxxis carnivores 32", (8ply), DOT,37lbs., soft rubber.

    • @SGTKILLJOY
      @SGTKILLJOY Před 5 lety +1

      I don't know about that. The dessert trails, rock and mountain driving them 8 ply light tires won't last and would be going flat after a few rides. I know that is why I only use Dot truck 10 ply tires. I know I will make it back home.

      We just returned back from a trip from St Helen to Gaylord to Mackinaw City to Alpena to Oscoda and back to St Helen. 610 miles in 4 days. So first, these tires are not happy in the sand. They are also pretty heavy. So, on washboard sand, they bounce like crazy. The ride control on the Polaris did very little due to the added weight. I would suggest you get tighter springs to buy these. The carnivores do not look as nice as these, but the carnivores perform much better.

    • @WrenchesRides
      @WrenchesRides  Před 4 lety +1

      Obviously that will depend on the use and abuse of them. These are DOT rated and from what we are seeing being fairly abusive and doing burnouts, you should get 30K miles out of them.

    • @WrenchesRides
      @WrenchesRides  Před 4 lety +1

      Unlike our CanAm X3, the PoPo did not feel the extra weight. The only thing that the weight seemed to do was make the dynamix settings work less. Stiff was more like medium in heavy bumps. I would do it all over again as this is not a machine we race. We wanted the durability and wear out of these tires and that part is amazing.

    • @WrenchesRides
      @WrenchesRides  Před 5 lety

      DOT approved tires are required to make your SxS road legal. The people who look these over really do not have that much of a clue to look at the rims and ask if they are beadlock. In our testing DOT tires also seem to wear better over the long run.
