I had my SMR built by a dealer and picked it up recently to save time. The build consisted of several parts I’ve seen on your channel, so happy that you’ve devoted time to posting your progress. I found an opportunity to clean up the wiring they zip tied, and through watching your video, noticed they wired the plug wires incorrectly. I can’t thank you enough for the detail Chopsy, truly appreciate you taking the time to get in the weeds with demonstrating the wiring!
Glad to see you got the closed loop dongles. When it's all done I have a feeling this is gonna be a handful to ride, but on the other hand you won't need a new front tire again.
This is one interesting share, my 18' Enduro 690 usually blink the fuel warning at 170-180km range, but once i rode consistently above 150kmh and the full tank can last up to 230 kilometers before fuel warning light pops up. Great share sir, looking forward to Spiced up my Ktm

Really interesting with the power commander. If you can't access the ecu, it's the next best thing, although without a rolling road, you are, i guess, left looking for maps with similar/the same set ups from others. I've played a lot with an aftermarket ecu on my car (bit of a home brew DIY EFI affair) but you can start to look at deciding when closed loop operates (typically low throttle opening/load and low revs) and deciding what target AFR's should be and how much the ecu is allowed to vary from a current map to achieve these. That's the only part you can't do with the PCmdr as I'm assuming the 'dongle' is resistive...so the bikes ECU thinks afr is perfect all the time.....so the PCmdr can do it's thing uninterrupted. As ever, excellent content!
Yes exactly Vernon, with dongle ECU sees a set figure thus dont make any changes. I will take this to Dynojet once complete to check map and do a custom one 👍
@@LambChopRides keep an eye on the ‘plugs too once she’s all set up. It’s possible you’ll need a grade up or down if the fuelling has been changed a fair bit. 👍👍

I agree. The Autotune module will make adjustments in real-time, much better (and not much more) than a single tuning session on a dyno, especially if you have a large fluctuation in temp and humidity throughout your riding season, or even during the same day.

I see that this vidéo is not recent but installing a power commander V is great, nevertheless without installing a fueling dongle at the same time makes the power commander effective after 5.500 rpm only, not before so it would be almost useless ....

I've only ever owned two bikes. A 2001 ktm 250sx two stroke and now a 2021 690 enduro....i know the bike has power because when i rip it hard on the dirt roads it really screams and pulls...but other than that i feel like its a bit of a dog. it really goes to show how much of an animal that old two stroke was....But I'm hoping the dongle stops my flameouts and gives the bike more a punch at the bottom end.
Can I plug in the power commander in a A2 restricted SMC 690 and thus unrestrict it ? The next KTM dealer to properly unrestrict it would be far away from me. If the power commander just short cuts the normal cdi and using its own mapping and stuff, it could work.

I'll post video on own channel later for those interested. I brought bikes into Spain from Los Angeles where Rottweiler was just hour away. The key surround Jim is called the ignition plate or barrel cover .... nice explanation but get confused as you said power commander but show a dyno jet box??? Great video and love Mavis...she's not much of a looking but has got " spunk" as the Americans would say 🤣🤣

Without an engine warranty probably.. once you modify fueling your really on your own I would imagine.
