This song has always been a gem to me! What's always grabbed me about this song is the juxtaposition of the upbeat, memorable and beautiful melody with the melancholy lyrics. For some reason this song tends to get me choked up. That's pretty amazing considering that there's nothing and no one really specific that the lyrics are talking about. In that respect it's very much like "I'll Follow The Sun". It's the listener that fills in the blanks. You somehow find that you're putting yourself into the picture that the song is painting which makes it all the more compelling and personal.

And yet, when I watch this video, I wonder how come this is so peaceful, how come a bunch of human beings are able to come together, sing "Lalalala" and not want to shoot each other's heads off....I think we will never know why.
