Sounds almost like an electronic snare. Like a dubstep or house snare.
+4ZD73X That's the idea. Jojo mayer has his own signature hoop crash and he use it for that kind of electronic sound.
BassAndBeard i would say more of a LinnDrum or 909 sound. Like 80’s Synthwave.
It's like it has a gated reverb, which is fun.
You can get a similar "electronic" sounding snare by placing a small splash cymbal on your snare and hitting the cymbal, i first saw it used by Benny Greb back in the day.
Man... I love that grove starting at 9:37 ... 80's electro "fresh" to the max
LanceCampeau Dude, if you like that sound, you should get into Tycho. Try, "Dye - Tycho" you'll dig it. this guy is pretty damn good though I too highly enjoy that composed piece at the end
I'm already all over that... his shit is groovy as hell
LanceCampeau you should make a cymbal out of a cowbell
Internet Boy I just found your comment and checked out Tycho, thank you for suggesting it to Lance. I've been lookin for something like this for awhile without any luck. its cool how a song without lyrics can convey a distinct emotion.
Another new Tycho fan thanks to you. Cheers!
The song he played sounds like when they’re switching from adult swim to Cartoon Network
Lol just heard something exactly like what you're describing a few mins ago
Great drumming. Please wear gloves when dealing with machines and sharp metal. You may need your fingers for all that drumming.-Your Mother.
I got the rick and Morty ad with the Pringle mortys
@@pkuehbauch166 machines and gloves = no hands... rather get a little cut than wrapped around a spinning shaft from a glove catch!
This would be the perfect vaporwave song
eh, more synthwave id say
0.75 speed engaged
It's sounds like a electionic drum set with the snare drum tuned low
Yeah it really does
So is it good to have it sound like that?!😂
@@potassiumchloride2542 it depends what you want
Wow I am totally impressed. When you said you were going to rivet the two of them together, I didn't have very high expectations, but the sound is incredible. It sounds like a stack of layered various samples like snare, hi hat and clap, often used as a "snare" in electronic music.
I'm a guitarist, But I have to say; I really like the the project. sounds great.
I also like the the the project
@@qwertyiuwg4uwtwthn the the the the project is cool
Just discovered you and became a subscriber about a month or two back and find your videos very creative, informative and enjoyable. Envy you your situation of dovetailing three of your passions; drums, wood/metal working and video production into a synergistic, single creative outlet. I assume it must bring you hours of enjoyment. I say "assume" because it's hard to tell with your low-key persona, but of course that's part of your charm. Keep 'em coming man.
12:31 - awesome beat
the chops in this video are insane. I love that synth sound paired with the slight harshness of his hat and stacked cymbals. all I can say is, Dope!
Your “lathe” looks beyond sketchy
the center shaft was so wobbly lol
I love how far you have gone to have a truly unique sound and we dig it!
3:34 i luv how he just has a log in his house
Dang, dude. That's not only genius, but it sounds awesome. I like it!
Great creative playing and I like the ingenuity with the home made effects cymbals.
I swear this guy will put every big company out of business and I love it. Keep up the good work!
Killer beats at the end! I agree, the low tuning sounds dope.
That jam at the end was killer. Great, unique sound.
I really like your inventiveness. You have a knack for turning something that is useless to gold. Great drumming! Very well done!
wow those grooves at the end. simply awesome man
Love the imagination and skills on display here..sounds electric, and the Vangelis leads are very vibey! Nicely done!
love the sound when he's just throwing it up and hitting it.
Really cool what you did here! I gotta say, I'm often very impressed by your ingenuity and ability to get it done.
reason I like your channel: YOU ARE SUPER ORIGINAL!
The combination of hoop crasher, your hammered snare, and the BFSD sound really cool! Success!
Thank you SO much for making this! I've been wanting to see you make this for ages haha. glad it turned out well!
Duuuuuude that jam at the end. And nice doubles!! Love this one.
"and by delicate, I mean..I'm gonna use a hammer"
THIS VIDEO IT'S AMAZING!!! Congratulations, the sound of the snare with the hoop crasher is so good!!! You're fantastic!!!
Great craftsmanship! You've got a lot of really cool custom equipment.
Nice linear groove and feel! Love the whole recycling concept too.
Nicely done, good presentation, good filming, good craftsmanship, and good chops. Thanks for sharing your talents.
That bodged together really well. And great playing.
Great job. Feels like electronic drum sounds on an acoustic set.
This sounded so freaking amazing man...
I love your channel and your vids. Simply amazes me, the things you do.. can't be a hand full of drummers like you around most parts of this country (?). Thank you,...very entertaining.
Been watching your stuff for a while. This one made me ding the bell.
Talk about originality and having your own sound--wow! Plus the grooves were sick.
Awesome video David, and great playing, love the way you laced the 16th note singles with 16th note doubles!
That was my favorite instrumental thing that I've heard on your channel thus far!
WOW .... GREAT GREAT WORK !!
Sound Awesome !
I love it with the Low Snare !
your drumming form is excellent. barely moving forearms with perfect wrist action. looks so effortless nice video
Your very creative and resourceful. Nice video and great drumming. Thanks
Pretty wild dude. It sounds like electric drums. Great job.
Dooooood... That sounds so good! And that little stack to your right! Subscribed.
That beat is so freaking dope. I revisit this video once every two weeks
This opens up a new world of versatility for drumming!
I stumbled onto this but the sound is really good for simulating some of the stuff we added in studio. Will definitely try this.
Crazy man!! Sound crazy good. Looks like a lot of work but also a lot of fun!!
I love the disco type beat at the end. It sounded so cool!!!
Cool video as always. Great playing in the demo. Very creative chops. Really played for the song. Cheers!
idk why but your videos make me feel cozy
Love the groove you play. Reminds me of the programmed drums on Múm’s first record.
Sounds pretty good with low-tuning, good job rdavidr !
The groove you pulled at 10:00 was so freaking tasty dude. Awesome video!
Wow! That plate marked Mein Byznatch(?) sounds so beautiful. It seems to melt together with the notes that play with it too.
Was very confused as to a proper application of this but when u did the little demo I was sold. Sounds tight
Sounds almost like a drum machine snare. It has the lofi-esque sound to it.
So nice and so 80s with the low tuned snare 😍
I really dig the grooves. Your hoop sounds excellent! Very fine job dave!
sounds like a cool hip hop snare. well done.
Holy shit man! this is awesome! I use to remake old cymbals when I was really young but you can actually make them sound great, also those hi-hats sounded killer! great job!
pretty cool beat at the end. definitely gonna make one of these when my current hats give out
The drumset looks kinda funny with all the bells and whistles yet no crashes. It sounds amazing and you get pretty creative with it though!
Perfect 10 for originality. Great sound as well.
I really enjoy watching your videos. keep up the good work!!
giving me so much ideas what to make at work now, I'm a machinist my self I can certainly tell you are too. from your mill t shirt. thanks for the video mate!
Genius, man! Pure genius! Great sound.
Also, I'm gonna steal your idea and toy around with some old, broken and/or cheap cymbals to see how I can make them sound.
You are amazingly talented on so many levels.
So that's the sound they recorded for so many songs cool man I like it.
I fall in love !!!! This hoop crashes sounds good !!!!
I love how rdavidr just uses all cymbals its so nice
The drumming at the end is fantastic
I recently discovered your channel and this stuff is really inspiring. Thankyou.
Love your creativity! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
That snare hoop sounds fantastic.
Might actually sound (and look) better than the original hoop crasher, so good job!
I feel like your awesome 80’s EZ synth playing is getting a little overlooked in the comments. Sweet stuff!
I dig the Milwaukee shirt and your drumming was pretty rock solid!
I like your playing. It's very supportive. It makes me want to jam along. It wouldnt get cluttered with playing like that.
That 80s jam in the middle is really killer :)
Hi there man, I gotta say, I have never actually commented on a CZcams video before, but I just absolutely had to here. I'm a massive fan of your builds, projects and of course yourself as a personality/ musician. Your drumming segment in the later half of this video was so incredibly crisp that you have completely inspired me to make my own! Nice one man! This is what it's all about! All the best to you dude :)
Just wondering, did you make it? How does it sound?
Wow, this is some amazing drumming, dude.
very cool sounds man, great work!
very cool job and great music at the end. Sounds like game music!
I love the way it sounds!
dude, you got mad cymbal playing skills. love your vids.
that was a tastey jam! flawless victory🍻
your an inspiration man! keep up the cool custom work!!
I just have to say that the cut out of the cymbal sounded awesome when you were demoing it at 4:40
Such a tight Tycho vibe, nice video!
I am not even a drummer (I play Bass and Guitar) but I love watching your Videos. And I really begin thinking of buying me a cheap drumkit and start practicing and experimenting with building some fancy stuff. Cool vids. Keep it up! :D
DUDE, sweet drumming man! I really dig it in this video!
Nice hoop, nice grooves... great man
Cool Sound and cool drumming!
David I saw this on your Instagram and I have been waiting ever since
That sounded so cool!
You have amazing projects!
Greetings from Portugal!
I have the Sabian Hoop Crasher, have had it for a good 3 years now. I like the product I have, but from what I hear here and from the one I own, yours sounds well enough that you can get by with it. Jojo usually tunes the snare that uses the Hoop Crasher way low, so that's how he can get his punch with it.
I really need to try this with a BFSD, because that sounded absolutely killer.
They sound amazing!
Your channel is very unique ive never seen this kind of content
