  • Fifty years ago, the Stonewall riots in New York gave birth to the gay rights movement & America’s first pride parades. But was it the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 80s that truly galvanized the LGBTQ community to fight for equality? Chase Cain with NBC LX has the story.

These people deserve so much better and not to be inhumanly mistreated.

8:35 This man is sick. Don’t label “gay white men privileged.” GWM have been at the forefront of this fight, with no concern about being “out” and visible. We don’t have a responsibility to the “trans” community. If you were out during the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or 00’s, the focus was getting rid of oppressive labels, that gender stereotyping was oppressive, that people should love themselves as they were made. Gender stereotypes were the focus of so much oppression, not just with gays, but feminists. What trans people do, is rather than dissipate gender stereotypes, but reinforce them. Trans people literally trade one stereotype for another. They are the antithesis of what gay liberation was all about.

@Illunworth listen dear they ain't got nobody dressed up as girls , the 7 years old boys have always felt different and not fitting they've always wanted to dress up as girls which is okay but the toxic environement they live in made them feel bad about themselves which is horrible for a kid who deserves happiness and joy at that age and that's why we need representation to make them feel loved and accepted not push them to dress up as girls , i mean did u ever want to dress up as a girl when u were a kid ? And if no would anyone be able to make you do it eventho u don't want to ? No because you don't feel like it and that's great but other kids do and it's also great

Gays have always been “everywhere” they just had to remain invisible to survive. Until 2003, being homosexual was illegal. Today, homosexual men are still harassed, discriminated against, rejected by family, get fired from their jobs, and live in isolation.
