- About half way through the video you'll get a glimpse of what the upcoming expansion pack Warlords of Draenor will be about. Throughout the 2nd expansion of Warcraft II on the Human campaign, the Alliance sends forces through the Dark Portal including Khadgar, Turalyon, Danath, Alleria, and Kurdran in an attempt to subdue The Horde from within their native homeland.
Extra human cinematics you've never seen are included! They are from the console version: Warcraft II: Dark Saga that was released for Playstation and Sega Saturn.
The extra cinematics were suppose to take place in between missions of the Beyond The Dark Portal campaign. If you're a legacy Warcraft II fan who's been playing since the Kali days, you won't want to miss this.

Just listen how amazing the music of Warcraft 2 is. Warcraft 2, Baldur's Gate saga and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 soundtracks are just pure gold.

Nah, you can explain that by the noise of the catapult's fireload.

Warcraft II had such awesome music, and many of the sounds were awesome as well. :D
Oh, and in 1993 there was Myst, which while technically more of a slideshow since it didn't use a 3D engine, could still be classed as having the best graphics at the time.

I always will remember this musics ingame. even sometimes they come in my head.
I remembered when I played this as kid wanting to see the next cutscene in the story campaign lol
It’s how I kept count how close I was to beating the campaign for each race. Every few acts a cinematic. Once you hit four or five 1 minute CGI trailer, you knew it was over.
Lord Khagdar became ingrained in my head from all the times I solo’d the campaign until B.net finally replaced Kali. Loved playing Kali server but the no talking led to a lack of great teamwork.

the difference between these and the warcraft 3 cinematics is astonishing

Actually, those are Elven Destroyers.
Kul Tirans gave the Alliance their Battleships. And likely worked with the gnomes to give them their subs.

I love how that's the one thing you noticed that can't be done. Yet there's Orcs, Undead, Dark portals leading to other worlds, the list goes on.
The first and second unseen expansion cinematics make sense! First is after going through the portal, the second is before facing Deathwing. But the third? Mission 9 has you destroy Fortress Shadowmoon. I guess it's related to Mission 10, where you have to defend against orcs!

@CiniCraft No it is not, the blood elf goes through the portal which Archimonde used to get into the world of men (Azeroth), which either Illidan or Kael'Thas had rerouted to be into Outland (Formerly known as Draenor). That portal was no gateway as the Dark Portal was it was just a portal like the Dark Portal was after it's "destroyal" by Khadgar. It originaly led to the Twisting Nether. Home of the Burning Legion and it's millions of soldiers, led by Archimonde in lore and Kil'Jaeden in wow.
No, its the music of Warcraft II, Old Hillsbrad just use a remix of the music, couse we back in time, so its nostalgic listen the good music from warcraft II.
The music played in the video is Warcraft II - Orc 2, fom the warcraft II Soundtrack.

i grew up on this game! Back in the days when the Warcraft games had good story lines!
@wjwildcat There were still trolls, night elves, old gods, Azjol'Nerub and Ahn'Qiraj and countless other civilizations in Kalimdor. Also dragons and Dark Iron dwarves.
Warcraft III excelled with its character driven RPG elements ,All of that came at the price of making it a small scale micro-heavy RTS.
@NAPREDATOR Indeed it was. Gul'dan, after getting torn apart by the crazed demons inside the tomb of Sargeras, his skull was turned into a syphon of demonic energy. Ner'zhul needed it in order to open multiple portals on Draenor to enact his plan of conquering new worlds for himself. Khadgar would then use it to close the portal as Draenor shattered. The skull then ended up in the grasp of the Burning Legion until it was taken and its powers absorbed by Illidan during Archimonde's invasion.
@MastaGambit See, Demons, unlike mortals, don't require something like the dark portal to cross into other planets. They can also be summoned into worlds through demonic summoning spells, such as the one used to summon Archimonde into Azeroth. Also, at Sunwell Plateau, the 3 Hands of the Deciever were using the energies of the sunwell to channel a summoning spell to summon Kil'Jaeden.
tbh, wc3 has the best cinematics, they are still awsome, 10 years later

Warcraft 3 had an amazing storyline and really cool cinematics but i was let down big big BIG time when i realised they have completly removed the battle from the seas.no ships nothing.still warcraft 3 was superb but i think warcraft 2 was a masterpiece!

You know what I liked best about warcraft 2? Controling armadas of dragons to level human encampments

@HmoobHer559 the very same. It's power was necessary to destroy the portal and rift. Also the orcs used it first to open a bunch of portals, leading to the destruction of draenor. Or something like that...

Also lot of people say that the king who gets killed by a group of orc army is Terenis 2, Arthas' father. If that's the case, how come that old man in warcraft 3 is still alive? so many twists.
I just played through the expansion and there are some cinematics here that don’t show up in the game? Are these official or unreleased?

If the portal is such a big problem why not just bury it under 50 million tons of rock. They do the same thing with a stargate.

+Tamari Bond Hire 10000 mage that have telekinesic spells, hire a army of dwarfs to extract the most heavy rock in their mountain and bring it to the place, make the mages throw all the rocks in that canyon, throw melted iron into the pile so ALL the rock is figed and build a lvl 500 forteress on it with gryphons, paladins and King Joeffrey.
+Arthas_117 Why not just dig the ground under the portal and all around it so any orc that goes through instantly falls to a death pit of some sort

@wjwildcat Actually, if the orcs never came, Azeroth would not be able to stop Archimonde from destroying Nordrassil, hence the end of the world.
@Baurles If you went through the WC3 campaigns, you would know that Arthas stole Medivh's Spellbook from Dalaran (after razing it, of course) and used it in order to conjure a powerful summoning spell to summon Archimonde into the world. See, Draenor was merely a planet that the legion got a grasp on enough in order to control the Orcs, who are mortals, who can only cross into other planets from portals like The Dark Portal.

@CiniCraft That's not THE Dark Portal, just A portal. However, as seen in World of WarCraft, the Dark Portal is actually massive. Its appearance also varies from game to game.

lore was always there, medivh the elves lothar etc but the "main" protagonist/antagonist (illidian, arthas, sylvanas, etc) didn't appear till 3. thats when alot of new lore was added.

Yupp, it stays closed I believe up until The Frozen Throne campaign. Grom Hellscream manages to sneak through the portal before its destruction.
Hellscream was imprisoned by the humans, he was on Azeroth and wasn't freed until Warcraft III's Orc intro. The portal remained closed from the end of Warcraft II to Burning Crusade, reopened by Doomlord Kazzak. Grom spent the rest of his life on Azeroth and died in Ashenvale fighting Mannoroth.

I'm so confused. Lol.. wc1 didn't really say much but in wc2 full blown lore. If elves taught humans in exchange for their help, and the alliancw, goe is khadgar already an arch mage? Unless rhat took place beforw the events of wc2 in books. Shit it seems I gotta play this one. I played up to northrend, but I just rebought the game tonighr (wc3) but a huge chunk of lore seems to be here. Idk my games synced right or is each campaign independent of each other?

I read somewhere that because humans have a shorter..so much shorter life span than elfs,they have a bigger adaptation to magic.
***** the war between elves and trolls happened long before first warcraft events happened. humans were a new race and they had no idea about magic at that time, they were introduced to it by those elves who, by the way, are the descendants of self-exiled highborn and other magic users when magic using was banned in the nightelves soicety.
In Warcraft 1, the ending of either the human or orc campaign seem to suggest that that faction won the war, however in Warcraft 2 the orc campaign simply takes place after the human campaign. In Warcraft 3, the four (five, even) campaigns are more clearly shown to occur in sequence.

In warcraft 3, during the post last level credits scroll there were a series of little scenes mostly funny.
The one in question shows in WC3 graphics the Zepplin-catapult scene occurs. After an error the camera zooms out and Archimonde is directing. After 3 more error-ridden takes he goes on a rampage and kills everyone.
I dont know why the beyond the dark portal cinematics wont play in my game. Only the first and last one.
Miki Mash oh that’s because those cinematics were only made for Warcraft 2 port on ps1 and possible Sega Saturn. Also auto upgrade weapons in blacksmiths etc and the ability to churn out a set amount of units automatically were also ps1 exclusives too.

Hahaha I still remember all the musics, I played this like hell on my saturn back in 1998 XD Still remember some cheat codes, I remember there are sentences without vowels like TSGDDYTD (ThiS is a GooD Day To Die) or MKTS, GLTTRNG...I was so bad at it when I was a child that I had to play with cheat codes to see the end of the story XD
