Does World of Tanks have realistic tracers like this movie?
Not that realistic but all the modules are the same and the armor to.
And the quality for a free game is very good.
lol, war thunder is better, get good
WoT has HP bars and doesn't have module damage like War Thunder does, it also doesn't have premium ammo.
sound is kinda bad
Two shots from an 88 cannon on the side of a Sherman at less than 20 meters, and both shots bounce, is one of the best science fiction scenes in film history.

Despite the many inaccuracies, you have to admit this was a great WW2 action movie.
It looked great but the tactics and tank logic is off
@@CrackedCrossbones The tank's logic was fine, 3 sherman tanks were destroyed by a Tiger I on this movie, I see no innacuracies. At the end, they coulnd't survive the nazi wave of men, just one of the protagonists made it, this was realistic for me.
@@AhperoKerek a high ranked german SS commander not shooting the first tank in a convoy, moving out of cover and getting itself flanked, that's not "fine"
That Tiger scene is painful - Especially when an 88 round bounces harmlessly off the sherman from 10 meters...
You’re forgetting that a Tiger would NEVER advance on 3 (previously 4) Sherman tanks. From a flat angle, the Tiger’s 8.8cm KwK 36 could penetrate a Sherman from around 800 meters if memory serves me correctly without any issue. But even then, Sherman tanks being alone doesn’t follow American military doctrine. They were not used as a “spearhead” like German armor, instead the Americans used armor to exploit breakthroughs from supporting infantry. This movie was nothing but pure “Hollywood.”
Also the Tiger Should never have moved forward in that scene and should have took out fury first knowing it has the long 76
Fury could have destroyed the tiger

Yeah any tank commander would have the gunner kill the leading vehicle then the vehicle in the rear and then pick off as many as possible in the confusion
Oh yeah and the fact the two Sherman 76s had to get to the rear of the tiger
Bro and it was xD
In reality, that Tiger would have probably been a Panzer III or Panzer IV, or one of Germany's light tanks. The Germans had very few Tiger tanks.
In reality, a high velocity 76mm could penetrate the frontal 4" armor of a Tiger tank at medium and close range. The 3" side armor of a Tiger at close range was not a problem for the 76mm. Tigers were not as difficult to kill as portrayed in this movie.
But it does make for a more exciting movie.
The Tiger I scene is inaccurate for multiple reasons, but the music played with its reveal is glorious.
I honestly don’t see anything inaccurate apart from the tactics used, other than that it was glorious.
@@aletron4750 That's what I'm referring to, the tiger would of eliminated Fury first since it was a M4A3E2 Sherman which had the 76 mm gun, not to mention it would of stopped the convoy, then it goes for the back tank to stop the retreat, and boom, middle boys dead, not to mention the Tiger I'd HE shell bounced off the Sherman M4A3E2 TWICE, in real life in that range, it would of obliterated fury, the wood and front armor wouldn't of saved it

3:01 that haunting humming noise, fits so well with the tiger tank. It really sends a chill down your spine. Especially when you know that most of the time the only reason Tiger tanks were actually beat by Shermans is because Tigers usually ran out of ammo. Anyway, back to the scene, it's such a great revealing moment that you almost know what's about to happen. Obviously realistically the Tiger would have had no issue with dealing with 4 Shermans.

Wood Logs
+1000000% Penetration Resistant
+500% Chance to bounce shells
Greenberet yes that log really help but one time use only and the 2nd fire of the tiger infront of the sherman so every armor infront is thick and also the slope of the front armor of the tank that add stoping power to a AP shell also just random luck that it bounce.
Meanwhile in War Thunder:
M4: Ammo rack detonated
Edge of Night I would agree with you, when the Tiger is shooting HE but with AP you would penetrate 5 Shermans at once.
Logs are for getting tracks out of mud if stuck, not as armor. They just hang by the side for convenience.

that's gotta be an inside joke.
that's almost "Empire vs Rebels" level of joke.
From what I know, the allied's used red tracers and the germans green. I think it's Star Wars who got inspiration by reality, a bit like with Darth Vaders helmet, based on the german stahlhelm
Wrong, a samurai helmet.
The Sith officers however are based of the germans
That is historically accurate. Although they added some Hollywood to the effect they did use different color tracers. Same in Vietnam.

Did that german tank commander literally leap out of his tank to shoot the sherman with his pistol??

It is logical. If the 88 mm tank cannon fails twice from a distance of ~10 meters, you have to try something completely different.
@@doofkos lol
I think he was trying to shoot the tank commander who was sticking his head out during the whole movie
Yes, a last ditch effort to kill one of our protagonists. Brad Pitt should have been dead a good while earlier, though, but I guess the Tiger's hull/bow gunner must have been asleep. With Pitt's chest and head sticking out charging straight at them, could have had an easy kill.
I think he was going for wardaddy (brad pit)
This movie.....idk where to begin.
0:35
The MG wouldn't begin firing. The germans had an anti-tank gun (7,5cm) they would have opened fire and killed one Sherman instantly and those 7.5cm guns have such a fast reload that at least in one minute every Sherman would have gotten destroyed, and you saw how the Shermans didn't know where the germans are and how long they needed to hit the 7.5cm. So normally the movie would have ended there.
2:30
And again....why would the germans wait until the tank shows its angled front. They had enough time to shoot the Sherman in the side and blow its ammo up.
2:45
And now this scene....Jesus. The germans normally used their Tigers from a far range (at least 500m-1.000m). The Tiger had such a good position and he could have killed everyone. But NO Hollywood decides to let him drive directly into the enemy. The Tiger saw them way earlier and I think the germans know that normally tanks with a bigger gun are more dangerous, so why the f*** would the Tiger shoot a normal Sherman (wich its gun had no chance against the 120mm armor) and not the M4A2E8 with the new 7.5 M1 that could easily kill a Tiger, and he was at the front so he would have stopped everyone, if the Tiger would have destroyed him. And if you think that I'm overreacting or just a Nazi who glorifies the germans and the Tiger crew would have acted like in the movie, then I can just say, that you have no idea about Tigers and its crews. Do you really think that the Wehrmacht/SS would have let a normal tank-soldier drive this thing? The crews from a Tiger, Tiger 2, Jagdtiger, Maus or any other expensive and good tank were driven by very experienced SS crews.
5:00
I think I don't have to explain this scene to you, I'm just gonna say 3 words: SS, Panzerfaust, Panzerschreck
I know that this is just a normal Hollywood movie, but I hate it when kids see this movie and think like: AMERICA!!! FUCK YEAH!!!

Given the lack of experience for most conscripted soldiers, it's not out of the realm of possibly. One interview with a Canadian tanker noted the gradual degrade in the numbers of German _PaK_ gunners who are trained with their equipment. Leading to many missing on the first salvos.

The _Tiger_ saw possibly only one of the tanks given it didn't open fire earlier. It's reasonable given the lighting situation.
> *_"Do you really think that the Wehrmacht/SS would have let a normal tank-soldier drive this thing? The crews from a Tiger, Tiger 2, Jagdtiger, Maus or any other expensive and good tank were driven by very experienced SS crews."_*
Yes, they did. Especially training school tanks, like this one is theorized to be representing. They weren't consistently the "elite" history channel portrays them to be.
>The Tiger was forced out by smoke.
smoke? really? I don't think so, more like fog, but the commander has a higher position and normally fog is over the ground and not in the air, that's why the Tiger could even see them. The Tiger also just needed to fire one round and all the fog would have been pushed away by the blast.
>They didn't have an arc of fire on Fury from the building the gun is placed in.
the Sherman has to show the side first, because it needs a long time to turn the front to the enemy especially with low speed. The Sherman can't drift like a race car around the building, it has to show the side first especially with that narrow street.
+coke LP
I was referring to the smoke screen.
The _PaK 38_ didn't have the arc of fire of the _M4_ as it edged out in front of the building.
Gotta love people like you who think smoke screens are useless in warfare.
We are talking about fog. The smoke you saw, was fog. Real smoke (smoke grenades) is way more thicker and lighter. The smoke u saw in the movie was very close to the ground.
So many tracer rounds, it makes me feel like I’m watching a Star Wars movie
Haha, there are different color tracers assigned to the good/bad guys. It is very much Star Wars, indeed.

This movie had so many historical inaccuracies.
Number 1: the biggest: The SS were cruel but they werent stupid. The tiger would have stayed in cover and picked the Shermans off from a distance, not rolled out.
Number 2: The Panzerfaust fired at the end would have roasted everyone inside.
Number 3: The Pak 40 Anti-tank gun would have ripped the Shermans a new one at the beginning.
Number 4: I never heard of a sherman able to bounce a tigers 88mm at 5 meters using its side.
SOME ONE FIX THE MOVIE!!!
+Izumi Shion
The _Tiger_ was forced out by smoke.
> *_"The Panzerfaust fired at the end would have roasted everyone inside."_*
It hit the turret ring. Which is a quite thick portion of steel, possibly some hydraulics, definitely the bearings, and then the last of the penetrative force went into a human torso. Possible.
> *_"I never heard of a sherman able to bounce a tigers 88mm at 5 meters using its side."_*
It didn't bounce. The logs likely triggered the fuse, and exploded before completely penetrating.
+Nathan Peterson I disagree.
The smoke was more of a fog. Also it destroyed a tank in said fog and no one launched a smoke grenade.
The Panzerfaust ha a penetration rate of 200mm+ depending on the type.
Its common knowledge to use Armour Piercing rounds to attack tanks, the logs would not have set the fuse off.
+Izumi Shion
> *_"The smoke was more of a fog. Also it destroyed a tank in said fog and no one launched a smoke grenade."_*
What?
> *_"Its common knowledge to use Armour Piercing rounds to attack tanks, the logs would not have set the fuse off."_*
The Panzergranate 39/36 from the _8,8cm. KwK 36_ has a small explosive charge. That's what I refer to. It is an armor piercing rounds.
The Tiger fired HE at the Sherman. That's at least the only reason I can explain to myself why the round exploded instantly. But who shoots HE at an armored target right?!
The Panzerfaust is a HEAT projectile. Have you ever experienced getting hit by a 150mm HEAT round? The Panzerfaust would have completely destroyed the Sherman. There is a video on CZcams where you can see a T-34 getting hit by a Panzerfaust. The T-34 exploded and the turret was gone.
+coke LP Thank you my friend.
In real life Fury and the Crew are dead in the first battle😂
Not necessarily. The PaK 40 wasn't a wonder weapon against the late Sherman glacis.

Mr Obvious yes, he’s saying in reality any German tank from world war 2 literally pulverise all english, american and Russian tanks from ww2
Fluffy Snow doggo That isn't true, however.

The tiger fight scene is hard to watch without picking apart the inaccurate details
Random Video SuRfEr it’s hard to watch calmly because of fucking Unending tenseness there is except I know it’s not historically accurate and I am able to enjoy it without picking it apart
That Pak40 scene even worse. They had great sights and good penetration and couldnt do jackall with 2 guns while they could kill target from 1000m away
Stug 3 117 I’m sorry but your statements are not factual. While PAK 40’s are very effective to early-mid war allied tanks, it would not be eating Churchills for breakfast at all. In fact it had struggles against Sherman Jumbo varients , Pershings would also prove to be a difficult tank to take down and PAK 40s would certainly not take down a Churchill so easily. Russian tanks such as IS tanks would also prove to be difficult to take down. Generally PAK 40s can take down light tanks and most medium tanks however I don’t think it would be able to easily take down heavy tanks as you make it out to do
Stug 3 117 someone also pointed out that it might have been PAK 38s that were used due to the time the movie takes place
Yeah there is a bit of inaccurate details but it was still enjoyable. I mean technically it does only require one sherman tank to take down a tiger but in the positions the tanks had in the movie, I am not sure if they would have won in a real fight. They did fire smoke rounds to force the tiger to move but they drove in a straight line towards it, I think in a real fight they would have broke off in different directions to get a shot on the side of the tiger which would have ended that fight. That would have been more realistic since the turret of a tiger was to slow and if it had tanks going both sides of it, it would be practically game over
Something viewers overlook is the factor of luck. I think the producers were aware of how deadly an 88mm gun was, but they purposefully made the tank survive shots against all odds because the tank was supposed to be lucky. Overall, the point of these close-calls was to show the new guy and the audience how close soldiers come to death all the time, and how you have to hold on to every fiber of life even if the situation was hopeless.
I wouldn't bother. I'm actually amazed how devoted Fury critics are. No other WW2 movie is so panned in terms of accuracy. And in this case the movie is actually quite accurate despite everything. Most of the said critics are forgetting a simple fact - it's the end of the war. April 1945, I don't remember the exact date but the fact is the German army doesn't really exist at this point, it's smashed in almost every sense of that word.
It's not that unrealistic at all that PAK or Tiger crews are manned by almost untrained rookies.
@@jackiemortes yeah but a lot of things still don't make any sense, like the point blank ricochet on the sherman armour or the last battle with the immobilized tank. Even a kid would know that big static metal box with gun needs to be surrounded and disabled and not charged head on. And what really is the point in a war movie where the enemy can't shoot or is untrained?
@@jackiemortes yeah but it’s fire rate was insane in the start of the battle, but then drops to basically nothing when the turret is aimed at fury. The main Germans still fighting were dedicated SS troops for the most part, so that tiger should’ve been manned by a crew with at least some experience.
Just looked it up, between the US and UK, about 7050 Sherman tanks were destroyed in Combat on the European and African fronts. Compare that to 44,900 medium Soviet tanks destroyed. Almost as many Sherman tanks were built during the war as Soviet T-34s. I think it was something like 49,000 Shermans as compared to 55,000 T-34s. The Russians continued building the T-34 for about 3 years after the war ended while the US ceased production shortly after the war ended. Going from memory, of the 4300 US Shermans destroyed, around 1700 crew were killed.
Honestly love how your videos are edited between the battle sceens

I guess the American machine guns had infinite ammo and never over heated :')))
There are actually a lot of scenes were they show how they need to reload and the urge for ammo, they even say a lot of times how much ammo is left, the end of the movie is based around they getting out of ammo and not being able to defend the tank properly, also guns need to shoot a lot more than 100 rounds to begin overheating, the real problem with 50. guns is the danger of u getting deaf after firing for so long, even the M60 could cause a soldier to get a weird sensation in his ear after shooting on full auto for a long time, for example the M249 overheats and meltdown after 300+ rounds fired continuously
Gabii also they were like burst fires.

I read these comments and I never realized there were so many American and German WW II tankers still alive and commenting on CZcams. The level of expertise of these people is truly astounding; its very impressive the number of expert tankers who can share their experiences and expertise with the rest of us. Its not like these are just a bunch of poseurs who treat their opinions based on playing video games as gospel. Thank you for your service all you brave WW II soldiers commenting on this discussion.
Well said lol

There is a mass literature of memoirs of veterans of the Second World War.
@@yes4o1 And not a one of those men commented on this video. A bunch of pencil-neck geeks who never served a day in their lives criticizing a war movie does not impress me.

Its actually possible
If you can get the angle far enough
@DIOVILO MUDAN the 76MMS could have go through the front at that range but I think they put that their for suspense movie would have been boring if fury picked off the tiger at range

@@FrederickFokker Frederick, everyone knows a 50cal round will go through three or more co-operative SS if you line them up right. 10m rounds from Ma Deuce could = 30m Nazi corpses. I think he killed a fair few by throwing things at 'em too!
What's that line Brando's character at the ene of Apocalypse Now? 'Give me a battalion of such men & I'll win the war'. A Company of Pitts would have done it. Hell, even a platoon. All that money wasted developing the A-Bomb!

Honestly, that "Revoltz22" fellow is quite the militant commenter; he/she (most likely he) responds to almost every single comment thread that has people making false or unsubstantiated claims, and proceeds to correct all of them, toting about the (admittedly reputable) sources and condescending tone to put everyone down.
While I can appreciate someone trying to set facts straight, the idea that one would waste enough of their time and life to correct the hundreds of less-learned viewers on CZcams seems rather absurd to me.

Nathan Peterson the inaccuracies
Movie was okey until the last battle. Last battle was just stupid atleast most of a crew died.
The last scene was fine. The PaK 40 scene could of been done better.
Nathan Peterson how the fuck was the last scene fine? They swarmed the tank with Panzerfausts and missed except for one and if I recall correctly they still got that whole crate of panzerfausts on the ground

It depends on the shell.

Everyones whining about how the 88s bounced off the shermans but the real innacuracy here is that the 76mm on fury would have absolutely penetrated the tiger from the front at that range and that angle

The Tiger Tank was ahead of its time.
Actually, the T-34 with sloped armor was more ahead of its time. Tiger just had thick armor and big gun, but with a way too complicated drive train.
Aerohk the panther had the bad drive train, the tiger suffered with engine and suspension issues
@@aerohk Very true. The T34 shocked the hell out of the Germans. It's why they built the Panther and the Tiger. The Tiger was Hitlers personal project. Then they developed the King Tiger, the best tank of WWII. A faster moving turret, 8" sloping frontal armor and a better 88-mm cannon. Also power steering with a steering wheel.
Too many tracers looks like Star Wars.
actually tracers are the only thing this movie actually got right...

@@RedRider1600 yet they managed to kill a few hundred SS Soldiers with a tank that couldnt move...
@@mikagrof9243
They killed less than a hundred, maybe about 60 Germans with an immobile tank, before they themselves were killed.
So what?
@@RedRider1600 the whole segment was incredibly unrealistic and just pure hollywood they just died due to their plot armor ending and their death was needed due to it being the end of the film
I am getting a little sick of people complaining about inaccuracies. It's not a documentary, it's a Hollywood film. Obviously sometimes it would get a little ridiculous, but the average viewer probably isn't very familiar with tank tactics. Instead of reading into every little detail, just enjoy it for what it is. If it were a documentary talking about tank warfare in WW2 and they showed this, then sure it'd be valid. But it's not.
0:56 Just wondering why is their formation in a straight line? To protect the soliders behind the tanks wouldnt it be better to have each tank a few feet in front of each other so the tanks shield the soldiers from gunfire coming from the sides?
They're in a line abreast because they're expecting the enemy to be to their front. This brings all the tank guns on the expected enemy direction. A column formation, what you are asking about, shouldn't be used when you expect enemy contact because you are limited to how quickly you can bring firepower in any direction. Column formations are for when you need to move somewhere fast and/or you are restricted in movement due to say a road through a swampy area, forest, etc.
The new season of "Girls and Panzer" looks edgy as hell.

The fact that they didn't even penetrate the Tiger in that range is just so inaccurate but the music the Tiger had on its reveal was glorious

You can find documentaries that it was 4 sherman against 1 panzer ratio/death. Those documentaries have real veterans that knew they were moving to death with tanks having aluminium parts for more speed. German lose their Panzer by the allied air superiority. This movie is fantasy garbage.
Yep
If this movie was a tad more realistic, the E8 would have punched one through the Tiger's front and moved on. This idea of the Tiger being an impregnable super tank is ridiculous.
No matter what people say, I'd rather be in a Sherman than a panther or tiger any day.

This is truly a better version of Fury. And only 10 minutes long.
A PAK-40 missing three-four shots in ~200 meters
Hollywood sh17
A Sherman surviving a tiger shot
Soldiers with rifles firing from their hip
They could've just fired the 76 from that range and saved the 3 Shermans, and several minutes of our life
Edit: DO NOT ADD A LIKE IN THIS COMMENT, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT
The armored column moving fucking next to eachother instead of the doctrinal minimum of 75m, the Fury not just shooting the tiger with it's 76mm cannon (would pen) and the other Shermans just bumrushing is a nice touch too.
This is awful.
Yeah I laughed when I saw them firing from the hip. Who the fuck does that?
Just a completed bullshit. If my Grandfather who fought in Stalingrad could see that shit - he would laugh until he died
ya... the firing from the hip part was too much not to laugh...
I agree in general, but American tanks were really good. Put up a Sherman against the most common German tanks (Panzer II, III and IV) and they will probably ace it. The late-war Sherman had a stabilizer installed which allowed not firing but aiming while driving and in the majority of the cases the tank who fired first won. (Oddly, very little crew members were trained to use them).
It had also good, angled armour (compare it with the flatter German tank armour plates) and a cannon that could take out most other armoured vehicles. After all, Tigers were rare. So were Panther and other heavy German tanks.
this movie is unrealistic af.
Yes, war veteran. I assume after your 10 years of combat experience with tanks and guns you know what is realism and what is not.
Well with archives and documents from historians and actual military officials. The Americans should still have the advantage even if this movie was realistic

1 Sherman could destroy a Tiger from behind by shooting it in the ass or from shooting it at close range. The Tiger was not indestructible. There were also versions of the Sherman with larger guns that could penetrate the Tiger's armor. There were also anti-tank mobile guns that could take out Tigers. Many Tigers were destroyed from the air. Many Tigers were destroyed by their own tank crews when they ran out of gas and had to be abandoned. The US had more than 1 tool in it's tool box.
The scene that Tiger ran while firing was ridiculous
