Bugging out is a fun daydream . Many have a wife and kids at home to protect and provide for . Would be great if it was a case of " The family that bugs out together stays together . " Just imagine going to the woods and waterways and providing warm ,dry shelter and food and water for four instead of just yourself . And don't forget your elderly kin you"re leaving behind to fend for themselves . Best plan on staying home with the family and being prepared to defend them with your life .

I agree with you about not batoning a knife. I was raised up in the east Texas thicket and my grandfather would kick my butt if I banged on my knife blade like most of the youtube movie stars do. I also agree with you about the necessity of bucking up wood for a campfire. It is wasted time and energy. I know there are times when I would want to, like if I am hot tent camping and I need shorter pieces to fit the stove. I also think that a hawk is one of the most important tools a person can carry. I have run the woods for over seventy years, so I am no stranger to the woods. I enjoy your videos.

Well, I'll be 70 before long and I've decided on 2 bags, one to carry my extra 40 pounds of belly fat, another with a good straight stick and some rope to keep my back straight, a tank of extra oxygen, and a good switch I can warp myself on the butt with to keep myself movin' along. If it works I might put a patent on it.

No one really knows how far they will be away from where they need to get to in SHTF when the time comes. I could be at my bugout location or I could be 400 miles away. Everything I need is at my bugout location. But I still need a bugout bag to get me there. So I keep one in my house, which is 4-5 days from my bugout cabin if I have to make the trip on foot. It doesn’t have everything I need for long term survival but it will hopefully get me to the location that does.
