Doesn't matter which MD took this mind blowing opening credit music for their respective movies, the feature of this music distinctly prove all elements used in this music was made by PANCHAM...
It is Pancham's music alone. The first this was used was in Joshila (Dev Anand, Hema, Rakhee). Later in Deewar.

A music director,be it RD Burman or anybody else has got nothing to do with the background score or title music of the film,this job is done by arranger and the conductor of that team
Every music director used to have his favourite arrangers,like Shanker Jaikishan had Sebastian and DuttaRam as arrangers in his team
SD and RD Burman had Vasu Manohari in their team

Not necessarily. Many music composers took care to compose the title music themselves. Salil Choudhury, Naushad, Anil Biswas, Vasant Desai, Hemant Kumar, Kalyanji- Anandji come to mind in this context. Even RD Burman and SJ (or LP) depending upon the film and how big the project was, would often compose the basic tune for the theme/title of a movie. Rest arrangements would of course be left to the arrangers. But basic tune was more often than not composed by the main composer himself/herself.
@@raunakjoy I beg to differ in this regard, music arrangement is like grammar you have got to be trained in this art , only few music directors were trained arrangers ,for eg Salil Chowdhury,Duttaram ,Shanker Pyarelal were trained arrangers and most of the times they also took part in the arrangement of background and title music
@@DALBIR-dw7cx I think we are both saying the same thing but in different ways. What I said above was often the basic tune for the theme/title was largely composed by the composer himself/herself. I concurred that the work of arrangement was done by the arrangers. They are called arrangers for a valid reason. That's their job. To say one composed something and to say one arranged something are two pretty different things. Of course, knowledge of arranging music completely (or atleast largely) was known to only some of the music directors. You rightly pointed out about Salilda and Pyarelal. From an even earlier period, the names of Sajjad Hussain, Pankaj Mullick and RC Boral come up in this context. Back in Salil's home state of Bengal, Salil's Guru Himangshu Dutt, Anupam Ghatak & Robin Chatterjee would largely do their arrangements themselves. Down South, Ilayaraja and AR Rahman too do the same.

For your information at that time this tune was officially copyright free that's why they used this tune in many film credits but from "Sholay" the same intro theme music got replaced by original songs or tunes of particular movies

When you said opening music I knew which background music you are talking about. Dusre video ke liye ek topic de raha hoon. Paap ki Duniya ke action sequences main joh background score use huan hain uska istemaal kai aur flimon main huan hain. Most of them were films of late 80s and early 90s. Unfortunately abhi mujhe koi film yaad nahin aa rahin hain but aisi kai films hain.

सबसे पुरानी फिल्म गोल्ड मेडल है, जो १९६९ में रिलीज होनी थी। इस फिल्म में धर्मेंद्र, जीतेंद्र, शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा सब बहुत ही कम उम्र के थे। हिरोईन भी शायद १९६६ की मिस वर्ल्ड रीता फारिया थी। इसलिए यह धुन शंकर जयकिशन की ही हुई।
जोशीला के समय जयकिशन जी गुजर चुके थे और शंकर जयकिशन का युग समाप्त हो चुका था। फिर उस समय गोल्ड मेडल एक अनरिलीज्ड फिल्म थी, और आर.डी.बर्मन कभी शंकर जयकिशन के असिस्टेंट भी रह चुके थे।
मेरे हिसाब से यह धुन शंकर जयकिशन की ही है।
I would agree. This tune has also been used in later Shanker Jaikishen movies not listed by Sahil. Also many music arrangers were free lancers working for multiple music directors. Anybody could have taken this tune from the unreleased movie and spread it around.
मैं आप से असहमत हूं। पहली बात RD Burman कभी भी शंकर जयकिशन के असिस्टेंट नहीं रहे। दूसरी बात ये म्युजिक में जिस तरह के साज़ो (12 string गिटार, ट्रंपेट,ऑर्गन)का इस्तेमाल हुआ है ये और रीधम की स्टाइल बिल्कुल RD Burman की है।तीसरी बात,आम तौर पर फिल्म के गाने पहले रिकॉर्ड हो जाते है लेकिन बैकग्रांउड और टाइटल म्युजिक बाद में बनते है इसीलिए ये म्युजिक भी बहुत बाद में उपयोग हुआ होगा। और हम देख सकते है कि RD Burman ने ७ फिल्मों में इसका इस्तेमाल किया है।
I remember reading film magazine Picture Post in 1969 which regularly carried advertisements of forthcoming release of Gold Medal on its cover. Hence all post production work including background music must have been complete before the marketing. For some reason the film got delayed. Without going into unnecessary technicalities, Western music of Shanker Jaikishen was second to none. Many tunes of other composers you will find having their origin in SJ's music.
@@m.m.sunilkumar5946 I have highest respect for Shankar Jaikishan and very well know their touch with western music.But this isnt about western music but overall use of instruments style and arrangement of music.Sebastian was best arranger we have had but his style was different.Besides,RD Burman has never used stock music for title music,except his own films listed here.Anyway,
@@ajaymsheth I am only stating that The GoldMedal was ready for release in 1969. Period. Comparative styles of different composers and who assisted whom has nowhere been touched upon by me. Both have given memorable music.

This reminds me, ek music tha jo purani fimon ke action scenes mein bahut use hota tha. Almost har doosri ya teesri film mein yeh music (action sequence mein) sunane ko mil jata tha. Opening credits ke common music pe mera dhyan kabhi nahi gaya. Thanks for the research and video.

I'm certain the tune was not composed by a music director, but by someone who specialized in creating background music for movies. As you pointed out in a video, during that time, the credit for background music would often be attributed to the music director, even if it was actually crafted by someone else.
It is possible that this background music composer is the common link among all those movies. Further research is required to confirm this.
Whoever may have used this title music track but I think it was first composed or used by R.D
BURMAN in Joshila in 1973

@@dannyboywwe Pandit Shantiswaroop Mishra … Many of his tunes were used by many famous music directors and passed as their own creation… there are atleast 370 super hits from 1958 to 1985 that are made from his tunes but he never got the credit … the thieves are Bappi Lahiri, Laxmikant Pyaarelal, shankar JaiKishan, Naushad, Roshan and also Nadeem Shravan …. Man the stories I have of these so called great music directors … all of them are thieves
