Feel like putting Goku in the thumbnail wasn't necessary considering how small the Dragon Ball fact was.
Clickbait in a nutshell.
Where is it?
Clickbait bro and it worked cuz I'm here
@@PinaPizzaParty 19:06
click baiter
Should have put a car or something in the thumbnail instead of Goku. So many racing games
Takomaster87 gotta get them clicks for them Dragin balls
I accidentally stole your comment. Sorry about that.
Yeah I know such click bait, I mean I’d still watch the video regardless but there was barely any info and wasn’t focused on that much
I'd complain about clickbait but I was gonna watch this regardless of the thumbnail so they may as well get them good clicks
Yeah
Love your videos but just a suggestion;
When talking about one game while showing video to another, could you have texts on screen stating what game we are currently viewing to go with the audio?
LaVar Green - Yeah that confused me quite a bit and was distracting.
Yeah it was super confusing, even just showing images or the company logos would be better. Just something to phase out unrelated stuff in the background
Agreed
Yeah I had this exact issue, and I'm surprised and happy to see that others were confused by it too. Because these are mostly quite obscure titles, without any text it was really hard to tell if the game they were talking about was being played on-screen or not. Like sometimes it was, but often it seemed like it wasn't at all, and instead another completely unrelated N64 game, but you couldn't really tell for sure.
Same. I appreciate the effort but these videos have had some pretty miserable execution.
19:10 is when Dragonball, the first series mentioned and the one in the thumbnail is metioned. The mention ends at 19:29.
classic Clickbait at the finest when I seen that image I was thinking 10 Tenkeiichi Buddakan for the PlayStation 2
@@IsaiahAmos017 I think you meant Budokai Tenkaichi there mate
Igneeka LOL I totally fudged it mate thanks
Thank you I couldn't find it by skipping through because of how short it was
Ty
After watching this video, "Dragon Ball Z, HAL Laboratory" was a strange choice for a title catch...
Honestly, I am disappointed. There really wasn't much Dragon Ball Z in the video.
@@Sporkinator Was there anything about DBZ at all?
Yeah, somewhere in the video is a brief mention of a puzzle game with a DBZ theme. Somewhere. I forget where, but I saw it, and it was overshadowed by Pokemon being on the screen at the same time.
"This game was set to release in the late 90s"
"Huh i wonder why it got cancelled it looks cool"
"Is was being made for the 64DD"
"There we go"
They used my video at 20:38. I'm honored.
Cool.
Did they ask permission for the footage?
@@Ash0512 if he doesn't mind why do you?
@@Ash0512 Nope, but I don't mind at all.
VIVA BRASIL.
Still remember the day I got the n64. It was my 6th birthday and my parents got me the podracing game. Me and my brother stayed up all night just racing each other
I feel like this video would benefit a lot from going down a gear, don't get me wrong the research and video itself is absolutely excellent, but the constant high-speed sometimes unrelated videos playing in the background coped with the humongous amount of info being thrown out rapid-fire (the whole video feels like it has no . or , in it) made me tired after half the video was done.
Again tho, just some minor improvement suggestions, this is really thorough and good work overall
A comment that actually provides legitimate feedback. Thank you kind sir.
@@patrick05020 A lot better than my constant "Do something other than Nintendo!" commenting...
Though I do actually wonder if these guys take into account feedback and constructive criticism.
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 I'm sure they do. They've done non Nintendo stuff but ig they're viewers come for Nintendo stuff so they do that most.
yeah I watched another video where they played unrelated footage while talking about the cancelled games
well
show us images, personnel...not banjo kazooie ffs
these Video a so interesting, but I find it very distracting when the Image show are not relate with what is being told in BG
If there was a set of text in the corner that said " **Footage from [Game] " to clarify that the video is not what's being talked about, I think would be helpful.
Mothy you just killed him, dude!
GITGUD SCRUB
I watched the video on mute, no clue what was going on, or why was zelda being shown
@@TheLuigi Yep, if only it didn't just say "Footage by CZcams User [insert name here]"...
"One genre that seemed underutilized was the sports genre" .... this statement couldn't be more wrong ... when ever i go to a local game store its filled with sport games for N64
Andrew Piccoli those and wrestling games while I love them both they are super common
That's because nobody wants to buy them
NBA Live 99' is my favorite sports game of all time, and it's on the N64. So I agree.
@@blakerider888 I love that game too. 😁
@@geovani60624 I mean, you got 4 wrestling games in the top 45 best-selling N64 games. No MLB/NBA/NFL up there. I guess a few folks want them.
Though if I wanted to play sports games (Non-wrestling), I'd usually stick to the Playstation or Genesis
Dam the DBZ clickbait totally got me i watched for that and got a whole bunch of racing games & 10 seconds of DBZ. Wow.
19:07 is it clickbait now?
@@ultimatesupremegoku1263 he mentioned DBZ being in the video.. yet called it clickbait because Goku is Huge on the Thumbnail for only a couple seconds of the "Canceled" Game being talked about in the video with no footage. So yeah considered Click bait.
Has Goku on thumbnail for a 20ish second fact. Clickbait much?
Yep and that fact earned a thumbs down from me
Can't believe I wasted 20 minutes just for that.
they talked about dragon ball and a character from dragon ball is in the thumbnail
how the fuck is that clickbait?
Toon Tails they barely even talked about the Dragon ball game lol
@@IronicTonic
hm
Hack and slash games “got the axe” and shmups got “shot down?” I see ya...
As the writer, I thank you.
Fans in '97: So will you come out?
Video Games: No, I don't think I will
8:21 Bold move showing FIFA 2020, it has evolved so much
Bro very true. The game might as well be a port
@Mr . Game & Watch same thing as Fifi 20
People who hoard prototypes without even uploading the ROMs online are the scum of the earth.
Agreed
Facts
Just a bunch of dickheads
Maybe they just don't know how to do it ? Also if a game's rom is leaked, the prototype loses A LOT of value so even if it is a d*ckmove, it's understandable
@@Adem92Foster The value of the prototype as an item is arbitrary; there's no benefit to hoarding it except for financial benefit. Compared to the historical value of the inner machinations of it, keeping it to themselves is *beyond* selfish and self-important.
It's also ridiculously easy to do, especially if you have the cash to *buy* the prototype in the first place.
It's an absolute shame that a lot of these cancelled games were due to incompetent execs. So much hard work and many potentially great titles lost.
Shoot em up games getting shot down.
Racing games that didn't cross the finish line.
These are some solid word play jokes!
The kyak game went underwater with the studio.
So no Fire Emblem 64 again? Fine, i'll just go back to my corner again.
I'm also surprised. It's not like no information about it exists.
Too many fire emblem characters 🤬
Salty manchild complains from having too much anime knights on a party game
@@clippygoat Zoomer has shit taste just to be contrarian
Idk maybe they count Fire Emblem as a port game on the GBA. But the game is very different from GBA, version from the screenshot. So it's should counts.
A fighting game with puppets, stings and all, sounds really cool; and being a 2D perspective it would look like a performance. Now I want that.
11:44 so Bottom Up went...bottom up.
Thank you, I'll see myself out.
I was extremely disappointed that they didn't say that.
Would be more accurate to say "belly up", like a dead fish...
Earthbound 64
Fire emblem 64
@@loyalmctinfoil lol that's true...
But currently as i know now that's only on Nintendo games !
Pronunciation guide for Remix:
- Tomy = TOE-mee
- UEFA = "you-EFF-ah"
Also, please ask your editor to stop showing video that is completely unrelated to what's being discussed -- Mario Kart 64 for a pinball game; Mischief Makers for a gambling game; etc. It's distracting and misleading.
Sounds to me like Looking Glass shot themselves in the foot by taking on way too many projects at once.
That Dragon Ball better not be clickbait
It seems to be xD
1:26 lol Tommy. It's Tomy, ya know, like it's written. Toe-mi
6:55 That's not Hydro Thunder: Hurricane. That's VRS shown again at 7:36
1:40 *_"Mischief Makers"_* was an underrated gem... This one deserves a remake.
EDIT- *Marina Liteyears* for Ultimate!
I still have that game. It has great gameplay and characters too. I enjoyed it so much. 🥰
Waiting for the “Tah-mee” and “Toh-mee” comments.
lol, same.
Top 5 N64 games:
5. Mario Kart
4. Perfect Dark
3. Goldeneye
2. Majora's Mask
1. Ocarina of Time
19:06-19:12
Mentions DBZ game for the N64, shows Pokemon footage
I'm out
I would have loved to see a forth Butoden with end of Z/GT characters thought
Shame none of the DB games came on nintendo 64, did Bandai said f*ck you to Nintendo after many games they released for that system?
13:12 This sounds like a 2D, less-sexualized version of Dead or Alive, and that makes me so sad that it never came to be.
@MultiTarded Technically it's also the official fighting game series for Ryu Hayabusa, star of Ninja Gaiden.
I can't believe how much cancelled games there are for the n64.
Who is to blame for all these cancelled games? Nintendo for releasing an underdeveloped console? Or is it SONY for producing the PS1, the #1 winning console of the late-90s?
I'm not sure exactly what I would do for a sequel to Beetle Adventure Racing!, but it'd probably be illegal.
Mini Racers looks just like Micro Machines
9:28 UEFA is phonetically pronounced "yoo-ay-fa" (one word) and stands for Union of European Football Associations.
It took me a moment to realise that UEFA is just letters to people who haven't heard of it
"OO-EH-FAH"
But yes. I was about to post talking about his "U E F A" pronunciation.
it's arguably better, when saying an acronym out loud, to just speak the letters. it ensures clarity in what's being said, in case people are looking at something else while listening to this, or happen to glance away in the moment
@@designate_om Sure. Let's talk about the "N A S A" and see if everyone understands right away.
@@xmaverickhunterkx first off, i said it's arguably better, not that it IS better. Secondly, UEFA is not nearly as recognizable to a predominantly american audience as NASA (or even FIFA for that matter), so if you're going to record something in that context, it's generally a good idea to ensure that you're avoiding a colloquial pronunciation of something that might be misunderstood by a portion of your audience. content creation/essay writing 101: make sure it's understandable to someone who has no idea what you're talking about
That Tamiya game may not have been released, but they had several racing games on the Super Famicom. They were based on their Mini 4WDs rather than RC cars, though.
Still waiting for WWF Backlash 64, come to think of it why haven’t you guys done videos on Wrestling games???
jay WARE they really should
From what I was told, they're being wary not to talk about something that has heavy licensing issues that could get them in trouble...
Sounds more like an excuse to talk about whatever is relevant, rather than what would actually be interesting.
Clok-Roo, The Primordial (laughs in Nintendo) I think Nintendo has a heavier Licensing d*ck to whip out than any wrestling game! 616 Entertainment has hour long videos covering wrestling games and he’s doing fine!!!
I'm surprised that there was no mention at all of WWF Backlash.
I couldn't figure out why Buggy Boogie sounded so familiar, despite me being way too young at the time to have heard about it. Then the article screenshot showed up at 5:26, and I realized; Buggy Boogie is one of the playable characters in 88 Heroes by Bitmap Bureau! I couldn't find anything in particular to connect either of the devs to Angel Studios, so it's quite a random little reference for them to have included.
Beatle Adventure Racing is such a great game. Cool levels and amazing circuits, it even had a Jurassic Park you had to drive thru. I really wished there was a sequel to it.
*Goku in thumbnail*
DYKG: There was probably a DBZ puzzle game maybe, possibly. Here's a name and some gameplay of Pokémon
How do you forget Earthbound 64, Fire Emblem 64, the ocarina of time expansion, and Mario 64 2?
I was looking for dbz n64 emulators yesterday😂
That's dope
My theory on the Dragon ball game was that it would of followed Goku taking on his greatest foes in puzzles like Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, and Frieza.
RevLimit looks fun, Its like GranTurismo on N64 and you do barrel rolls each turn lol
You gonna cover Xena: Warrior Princess by Titus ? Titus had planned 3 Hercules/Xena games for the Nintendo 64: Xena: Talisman Of Fate (a fighter) that was released, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (action/adventure) that was released, and Xena: Warrior Princess (action/adventure) which was cancelled. All that's known about the cancelled game was that it was going to be the last of the three to be released, it was going to be like a mix between Tomb Raider and Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, it was going to be developed in-house by Titus (Xena: Talisman Of Fate was developed by Saffire and Hercules was developed by Player 1, both published by Titus). That's all I know. Hercules was released in late 2000/early 2001 (by that point Hercules, the show, ended a year earlier and Xena was about to end in 2001), so Xena would have been released much later, and by that time, both Hercules and Xena would have long been over and the Nintendo 64 was dying.
Oh my dear god. Shadow gate 64 was recognized. I think I’ve witnessed a miracle
You missed one. There was supposed to be a Fire Emblem game on the Nintendo 64 known as Maiden of Darkness (I think that’s the title if I remember). There probably wasn’t a release date, and Roy was supposed to debut there, but it was cancelled
It feels strange remembering that Looking Glass made a handful of N64 games one might write off as shovelware at a glance, but also made the thief, system shock and ultima underworld franchises
Sometimes I wonder if cancelling Earthbound 64 for Mother 3 was for the best.
Wait what? I played mini racers. I remember having that game growing up. It wasn't cancelled...
That was probably micro machines
7:01 Beetle Adventure Racing was badass!
This was relaxing to listen through during an anxiety attack I was/am having. Thank you.
Shab Master these videos give me anxiety after a while. He talks so fast and there’s never a break. After 10 minutes it feels like some weird fugue state
Hope you feel better, buddy. ✌🏼
@@Oddtish I am now. Dragon Quest Builders helped. Getting out of your own head is half the battle. Thank you.
I wouldve loved a DBZ game in N64
“For one reason for another” I greatly enjoyed this series
9:24
Perfect use of that clip.
Nowadays Gambling Games Are Rated T For Teen On The Microsoft Store!
Why ESRB WHY?
Lot of great visual choices going with the narration. Loved seeing Mischief Makers and Road Rash again, and I loved Birdy from Conker showing up when you talked about the mini-golf game "Birdie" haha
Maaaan. Pokemon Puzzle League was the shit. That was a friday night game for my parents and I. At the end of the work week for my parents, they would order a pizza and the 3 of us would play that game for hours against each other. Great memories.
Cool parents. Must've been a blast. I miss the 90s
Tomy is pronounced with a long O, "TOE-mee". They're currently a subsidiary of TakaraTomy, after the two companies merged in the 90's. Tomy is still occasionally used for international brands that existed before the merger, and aren't currently being distributed by TakaraTomy's international partner Hasbro.
Takara and Tomy didn't merge until 2006.
What's a Long O
You should put the part number in the title.
11:43 I guess you could say Bottom Up... went Belly Up! [Insert canned sitcom laughter here]
I love that the devs of Addams Family Pinball cared enough about pinball that they were gonna implement mocap and realistic physics.
So Bottom Up went...BELLY UP!? Ha ha...I'm sorry.
0:57 but zelda isnt an rpg..
Did you guys also know that they’re two more canceled N64 games Twelve Tales Conker 64 and Mother 3 (EarthBound 64) but they end up being changed
Too bad Mini Racers never released, it looks super cute for a racer.
The same goes for Beetle Adventure racing 2, my brother and I used to play the first one on his N64 a lot when we were younger.
Seeing all the fighting games that were cancelled depresses me. Also, the thumbnail really is some bullshit guys. That’s not cool having a Goku thumbnail but only 20 seconds of facts :/
Bloody hell, are CZcams still peddling that postman with the sea shantys?
Love the videos guys! You guys should do one on Mega Man Zero since it just released for the current gen consoles.
I can't believe the last game for the SFM was released in 2000.
Don’t be fooled by the goku thumbnail. It’s a racing game episode.
😒
How is this is a racing game episode?
I watched it twice and didn't find anything related to DBZ, what did I miss
19:10
11:45 I was half expecting you to say "Bottom Up went belly up", to be honest. What a missed opportunity for a delightfully bad joke.
A lot of quality pun work being done here.
Missed opportunity to say "Bottom Up went belly up."
You ee eff aye killed me
Another video about cancelled N64 titles? Leavin' that like!
OHH YEAH HERE WE GO
MORE DEPRESSION ;u;
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT WE WERE *_THIS_* CLOSE TO HAVING A DBZ GAME ON THE N64
Interesting games coming from Looking Glass considering what they did before that lol
I love this video idea, which gave me an idea for another one you guys could do:
Unreleased... wait for it... VIRTUAL BOY GAMES! (Hear me out 😅): there’s a ton of them because of the short lifespan of the console, including very promising titles, like donkey kong country 2, bound high, dragon hopper, goldeneye, zero racers, starfox, and tons of others with lots of info on everything at planetvb.com. There’s more cancelled games then released ones for the virtual boy, so there’d be a ton to talk about, and giving the red goggles some light is a nice bonus too :)
Thanks for your consideration!!!
11:44 - So I guess you could say Bottom Up went Bottoms Up?
I'll show myself out.
Damn bro you got the whole squad "laughing"
Looking Glass Studios the best stealth game developer ever
Theres was suppose to be a Final Fantasy 6 Remake on the n64 also , they were some screenshot around that time
No they were just early concepts of a 3d final fantasy it was never actually in development for the n64 because when square didn't want to develop on cartridges they shifted all of their focus to the playstation
@@freddiejohnson6137 Actually: Final Fantasy VI: The Interactive CG Game, also known as the Final Fantasy SGI demo, was a short demonstration produced by Square using characters and settings from Final Fantasy VI. Produced using new Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) Onyx workstations acquired by Square, the demo was Square's first foray into realtime 3D graphics, and many assumed it was a precursor to a new Final Fantasy title for the Nintendo 64 video game console, which also utilized SGI hardware. Square, however, had not yet committed to Nintendo's console at the time of the demo's production, and much of the technology demonstrated in the demo was later put to use in the rendering of full motion video sequences for Final Fantasy VII and subsequent games for the PlayStation
mini racers looked awesome. what a shame.

You missed a good opprotunity 11:45 "didn't stop bottom up from going....
Bottoms up."
these videos are really interesting but the more videos of this I see the more I lament all these great sounding games that just never were I hope someone is inspired by these and maybe brings a few of these ideas to life using more modern means indie or otherwise
These are very interesting videos. Thanks.
Are you guys going to do other consoles too?
Footage at 8:53 is Wave Race 64, not Wild Waters…
lmao a quick mention of a dbz game and has goku as thumbnail, you really got me
You missed a golden opportunity by not saying "due to Bottom Up going belly up"
That guy was really good at Pokémon puzzle league
N64 had no street fighter
I find it odd that they would make this a multi-part video series but not feature the part numbers in the title.
I guess they think people are are less likely to click on it if they think its part of a series they haven't seen, but still.
