We RX8 fans have been waiting for a long time
And now finally Mattel really treating us good on both sides, they perfectly nailed the veilside kit on the hotwheels RX8, another interesting thing being they did the '03 generation in both sides, hotwheels did the '03 with veilside kit while matchbox did the original stock also in black
Can't wait to pick these both up!!
Just as you mentioned. It's the new collectors. Every day there's a new collector so of course it sells. I started this year in January & I'm a F&F fan so yes, I'm jumping on all the castings that have come out this year. Fellow collectors say they're repeats but not for me 😂
I collected series 1 partially, then found series 2 just last week, new box off the pallet. Now I just need to get this series 3!!
New collectors are just a cover. Honestly, most of them are just looking for a pot of gold.

The black Supra was in the movie for maybe less then 5 seconds but I like that they made it

Biggest annoyance is Mattel having the eclipse reverse on the card back. Hood bump would stay on the right side of the image.

I still have no idea why they haven’t made a modified charger for the green one. They are making new castings for things like the fair lady but not that one. Seems a bit lazy

The previous Evo from 2 Fast 2 Furious was an Evo 7. The one from Tokyo Drift is an Evo 8, so it’s a new casting

Not sure if anyone else posted about it, but , the Eclipse and Silvia in the 10 pk and upgraded singles got cast in spoilers where the premium versions had plastic spoilers.
I have yet to see the second set of the upgraded singles in stores here.
Yeah, that Camaro looks really nice! I also love the flat black Dodge Charger! The hood modification on the 240Z Custom is a turbocharger. I really do wish they had painted the headlights on the 240Z. Finally, in so many ways I'm weird: I have never seen any of these movies. I know, huh?

So the basics are basically better! I am also liking the premiums more and more, just not the prices.
Were always gonna see the really popular cars from the currently 10 movies, but there is still a ton we haven't gotten yet. Even more so in premium. Nothing from Hobbs & Shaw yet though, which is a shame they had some nice ones there.

Wow I did not realize that Veyron was NEW NEW again, that's really awesome. It looks fantastic. I'm guessing from the video, you posted before, we should be expecting one in black as well, but I don't know if it is going to be premium or not, I sure hope so, because it is about time. I also hope they do it in original first edition colors black and red with chrome. I collect all new generation Bugatti, except wheel variations (Chiron from diorama). Anyway, subjectively, with my personal bias, I'd say that #1 Veyron, #2 RX-8, #3 Murcielago. I hope they do Lambo without spoiler later as well.
PS I hope that the Veilside RX-8 opens the door to Fortune RX-7 too. They had a "fake" version a long time ago so a real would be nice.
El Camino is my pick,but the wheels are tired. Needs torque thrust wheels.
I totally see the big improvements for the Bughatti! It just so happens that I don't like the body design of that car. For me it would be:
1. Camaro. 2. The flat black Charger. 3. The El Camino.
Interesting that the Eclipse card art has the hood bump on the wrong side.

I found the 3rd set in the store, and guess what, ofc the S2k and an RX8 were gone, although they were highly priced... And people locally didn't get the Skylines, not even the Bugattis (probably bc of the bigger rear wheels). 5$ for a basic with bad QC on decals

The r32 all black is better than the premium one, much more rear detailing and little more interesting
I bought the Bugatti from the fast and furious sett. I like it a lot!! Hopefully it will show up in premium as Bugatti set at some point. I like the way money is being put into new castings so others get models in other lines that would otherwise not see. So for those complaining just remember that down the road other collectors get new material as well.
I have yet to see the second wave anywhere! I need that Fuckin Evo!

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX casting is all new. The one you were talking about is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII.
I'm fed up of these half basic half premum sets getting cars that could be full premium but instead Mattel want to re-release cars in different sets (Mustang & BMW from the most recent set for example just with different card art...)
I refuse to buy basics and these semi-premium cars now - just hoping they release them all as full premium models.

The RX8 looks perfect, they're very blocky cars.
All trash except the evo looks like they got the cast correct ..hope you don't have to keep all of those lol probably can't even give those away save. For the evo and the nsx cause nothing quite like getting another Honda I can take apart and change up
