Glad to see Snipe is doing well
She even got some amazing painting done.
@@walterhaider869 indeed
Yay! Wib & Snipe have got some corporate recognition; as they so very richly deserve. The terrain looks very cool. That photo backdrop is a sweet idea. Oh, I like the graphics on the wound counters. Ooh, artist credits! That's neat.
This review was informative, entertaining, and authentic. It has greatly increased my interest in buying the Shatterpoint skirmish game. If I were a miniatures game publisher, I would send this channel, Snipe and Wib, review copies of all my new major releases in the future.
4:39 saw these backdrops in another unboxing, I was immediately impressed. Such a great addition to the hobby! And it's just a piece of cardboard! Why did nobody else include it in a starter box before?
Thank you for sharing!
Would have been an auto buy in Legion scale but yeah, im not falling for a fourth star wars mini scale, fool me thrice!
And pardon my cynicism, but SW minis games have a habit of dying out. We've had Star Wars Miniatures Battles (1989) at 25mm, Star Wars Miniatures (2004) at 34mm, Imperial Assault (2014) at 28mm, Legion (2018) at 32mm, and now Shatterpoint at what looks like 35mm. I'm pretty sure there were models made by other companies for pen and paper SW RPGs and various board games I'm forgetting about.
The most amazing thing is learning that there's a Werner Herzog action figure! I've been so frustrated with what AMG did to X-wing that I don't really want to play this but glad you two got some recognition and fun stuff!
"Herzog casts existential malaise, your droids are now nihilists and sit down mid-battle to await the outcome with disinterest"
@@throwback19841 *insert Werner Hertzog speech about chickens here*
Dayum, the minis you two have painted are gorgeous. Well done both of you, I love the metal on Snipe's mandos!
Oh those Clones look absolutely lovely.
The Droids too!
I'd recommend magnets under the base and metal sheets in the box for transport. Works a treat with my MCP minis.
+1 this. 1.5mm magnets fit MCP bases, so I'd imagine it's the same for these.
i just found your channel cause of this vid and i absolutely LOVE ur content!! i only recently began to play wargames and dnd and this is such an awesome meld of my interests! also i love the jazzy background music yall used! keep up the awesome work!!!
You have the best review of Shatterpoint on the web! Thank you guys for covering what you did and showcasing so much of the box set. Loved it
Just wanted to say, excellent use of music. Don't think we don't notice or appreciate it. Much love.
Nice to see them sending out review copies. When companies have confidence in their games it makes me more interested in checking it out.
Cracking work, and the absolute correct choice for the final music. 💪
Aaand a new star wars game right in tine for my re awoken star wars fixation. Some truly flawless timing, and a great review
I will watch Snipe & Wib review anything, no matter how little initial interest I have in the thing. I would watch Snipe & Wib review doorstops because it'd still be a good time. Companies should send them more free stuff!
This is a very cosy format, would love to see more
Nice review. Massive props for the Super Empire Strikes Back needle drop.
You guys are about as subtle as a thermal detonator. But that is what i like about you guys.😂😂
That bendy movement thing is actually genius, might have to 3d print/laser cut me one of those
Glad to see you two back.
Nice, the minis and the terrain look gorgeous!.
This is one of the best reviews I've seen of the game, congratulations, there are many videos made by people in the miniature games business who did a very poor job of playing and getting an advance copy of the game. 10/10
New stuff review? Neat.
Okay the inclusion of a little backdrop for taking pics? That's a great idea. Such a small thing but... now it makes me want to make something for my own minis. Just for the nicety of having things not floating in a white void or having to do any photo editing after the fact tbh.
The Star Wars miniatures painted by Snipe look awesome, excellent painting skills
As expected of Atomic Mass Games, the models are absolutely EXCEPTIONAL. fiddly bits aside, I genuinely feel like AMG has maybe the best casting techniques and systems in the industry behind GW, taking into account casting scale and production. I've done a few commissions as well as painted up my own Marvel Crisis Protocol minis from AMG and they are hands down some of the best quality plastic miniatures I've ever assembled and painted. Depending on how much support Shatterpoint gets, I might end up having to get a loose Ahsoka mini to paint up for myself as a display piece down the line!
Hell ya! I want to get this, even if i ever play, the minis are fantastic, which is how i feel like about Crisis Protocol. Its a bit more pricey than Crisis Protocal, but the quality is there, like that is a insane amount of terrain. You could easily use any necromunda terrain as well, there has to be some Star Wars worlds that are super into skulls.
Hell yeah! Babe, stop the impromptu vascectomies and come see the new Snipe and Wib!
You two really are rather good at that painting lark ❤️
you know what, if I was a big fan of this part of Star Wars lore, I would absolutely LOVE THIS. It looks very well made
AMG has some previous with tiny parts for their miniatures, some of the Marvel Crisis Protocol core set's miniatures were a nightmare for that. They looked good when built, but they were fiddly to an unfun level.
Shatterpoint, including the starter set, does however look lovely. Weirdly though despite being a Star Wars fan since I was 5 and saw the first two movies in the cinema, it's never appealed to me as a wargame setting. I love it as an RPG setting but maybe the difference is that in RPGs I get to create my own characters, rather than having to stick to the established canon in the wargames. Still AMG has received a lot of praise for Marvel Crisis Protocol and I am certain that Shatterpoint will be a similarly great game for those who are interested in it!
Proprietary game components is my biggest gripe with all of the Asmodee mini games. Can't use regular dice and tape measure, you need the special dice and gages. This doesn't get in to the nightmare of stat and upgrade cards that plague their other games.
Whilst, yeah, I get it about the custom dice and all the tokens and things, the custom measuring sticks actually cut a surprising amount of time out of a game. There's no trying to make sure your tape measure is in the right place or seeing if your 12.1 or 11.9 inches away. You just plop down the stick and there you go. It's also great for playing randoms because measurements are the number one source of arguments in my experience.
@@Lord_Evidar lol? Just use a set square or something if tape measures are too difficult?
Proprietary game components, especially when there's reasonable things like tape measures to do the same thing, are a bane. Things get lost and damaged. Games get discontinued. This looks like it has some really neat game mechanics but for $200? That's a lot for specialized accessories you can't use with anything else. And the more accessories the more it defeats the main purpose of tabletop miniature games, which is: you know everything about what a model does by looking at it.
Just picked this up at retail cost price as I run our local gaming club at my friend's store. It's absolutely brilliant.
loving the green fuzzy table
Informative and honest. Well done
I may have to take my X-Wing down to my FLGS, as you've suggested via your choice of outtro, and pick up a copy.
SNIPE IS BACK! ❤❤❤
Fantastic news about Snipe x
Great video ya daft pair, good to see snipe being awesome too!!!
Neat! Hope things are going well for y'all.
My favorite youtubers looking at a game im interesteed early? crap I may just have to get this
Love the channel, this video is great.
If I didn't hate star wars I'd try this out.
Damn that’s fine art! And they already have a Grievous squad pack 🤑
£165 is fucking mental for the core/starter set.
$200ish Eagles?!
@@thegloriouswizard5270 Everytime I see one of those questions, I wonder: "Why don't you just google it?" But then I remember, hey, maybe he/she just needs some human interaction, and I feel that. It's 206,74 $ to be exact. Hope you had/have a great day. ^_^
@@tigeriussvarne177 Thank ya kind soul. Hope you have a good day too☆
Well, unlike some other game publishers, it's a full army for two people, with the needed amount of terrain to play, so it's actually a complete package.
Good to know, at least.
Not gonna lie... You have me fascinated. And those sculpts are killer.
Damn, Anakin is so tall he can shove Primaris Marines into lockers.
Speaking of headcanon, mine is now that Werner Herzog was playing himself on Mandalorian.
That’s a lot of stuff in one box!!
Not really a star wars fan but these are lovely miniatures. I love the large size too.
You just gained a sub lol. OK have been quite hyped about shatterpoint for a while everything looks great but the minis are so detailed and I'm not that great a painter. I'll just hope there is some painting help on here.
Looks cool!
So is the force size two sets of, a hero a special unit and two infantry?
Never before have I commented about like/comment numbers, but the joy I felt being the 1000th "Like" on this was fantastic.
2:00 "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?"
Ooh, new Stars Wars miniature game~☆ Lucky☆☆
Great paintjobs!
Will you be covering any legion minis oh and I'd love to see some classic games such as gorkamorka lol
one question, we know if this game will also be released in Italian, thanks
The card and illistration art reminds me of the old Dark Horse Star Wars comics honestly.
Kinna unrelated (tho only slightly so) I'm basing some models with sand, and it's getting everywhere.
So Anakin was right, and I'm somewhat sharing his sentiment: "I don't like sand. It's coarse. It's rough. It's irritating. -And it gets everywhere."
So is this supposed to replace imperial assault?
Nice to see some other wargaming content :) have you guys played star Trek alliance/attack wing? Might make a good mini battle report style video if you can get your hands on a copy 😅
Y’all with that sexy jazz in the background 😂
That Force thing, that you're sensitive to, I guess, I mean I don't wanna assume, I hope it hangs around and makes your life a bit easier.
It seems like the same wizard who has cursed GW has been at it again in a different setting.
I should probably read the _Shatterpoint_ novel at some point. Matt Stover's _Revenge of the Sith_ novelization was pretty good.
I wonder if this is in anyway replacing Legion. I might grab some models for the sake of models either way
How does it compare to Imperial Assault?
very neat
Love the retro backing tracks, FF7 perchance?
Black Series Werner Herzog is one of the characters in Star Wars of all time.
HOW much!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, I'm speechless!
Oh damn! The 40K peeps do Star Wars too, awesome!
What do you think of the replayability ?
Love the SNES soundtrack.
The game feels like a veneer to sell painting projects behind, I can only assume that the extortionate price they're asking is down to the insane detail of those miniatures. It's a lot like Crisis Protocol in that regard
Dang, I liked the sound of this game a lot but I hate having no control over unit activations.
"Bo-Katan is hanging back and checking her nails" so THAT'S what she was doing in that castle
Warp Factor Snipe!
I guess is cheaper to add more characters using the old figures from the star wars command line. They are 1/32 scale.
I want a set of Cassian, B2emo, and the rioting Ferrix workers against the Stormtroopers, Dedra Meero, and Syril Karn!
Any opportunity to show off your Star Wars stuff, must be taken.
Part of me, was 'I've invested too much in Legion and don't play enough' then they showed off the ewoks....lol
I wouldn't ever spend that much on minis and terrain, no matter how good, but getting them for free, just gotta make a quick review video? Hell yea, free shit.
The objective system of "go to these points on the grid" seems very offputting and unflavourful considering the clonewars staruday morning cartoon context. Wondering if it works better in practice....
They made a game called Shatterpoint, but Mace Windu isn't one of the characters?
Battle Report?
I assume Werner Herzog's in-universe Star Wars name is Werner Herzog.
I honestly thought the minis were going to be an even larger scale.
Bo is not doing her nails. She just trains sassy throne sitting. Duh
Can't wait for £25 a model in the future like with Crisis Protocol :/
i love to see more non warhammer videos, it's a nice change of pace
Good lord those rules. Blech.
Wish they would have a set with pre made miniatures. Not all of us are able to assemble and paint…. They are keeping a lot of ppl out of the hobby.
"Black Series Werner Herzog" needs to become a standard unit of size comparison. For everything.
Sorry* bananas.
* Not sorry.
Ah, sad. I'm largely indifferent to rules (though these look like they'd fit my brain fairly well) but I do like me some good minis. Alas, I also like to have my minis work together, and these are *huge*. How can I have Doctor Who and Captain Rex team up against a horde of Terminators when Captain Rex is 50% larger than everyone else? :( Maybe they'd work with the Batman minis, but it does make me much less interested in buying anything.
(Also, I think you Brits are getting screwed on pricing here, because pre-orders in Canada are only abut 170$ CAD, which is around 100 GBP. Localised monopoly effect? Shipping costs (not likely worse than CANADA!) ? Hidden import duty post-Brexit? In any case, someone is making some extra bread off this.)
Star Wars kill team?
Looks good but my Star Wars money is still going to X-wing. Gives me more time to paint other things.
that looked very enticing until i saw the price
Snipe you look lovely ❤
