  • I recently purchased a new rear tire for my bike. After that 10,000 mile mark the old back tire was worn. So, I decided to do a quick tutorial. The rule applies to most belt and chain driven bikes, the shaft drive will be slightly different. Changing your own tires will save you a lot on labor cost through shops. It only takes courage and confidences. Thanks for watching!!

      Thanks Sean!!💯 You right, very very easy. I see people take their bikes to shops for tire changes, which is fine. But it is a simple do it yourself job.👍🏿

      The process is the same for removing the wheel. I had a 2008. I take the wheel to Cycle Gear and have them remove the tire👍🏿👍🏿.

    Ah hm, never saw the pipes come out? or the belt and video took too long so cant watch and not complete, therefore not useful at all? There is a lot more to it then what you are showing here bro.

      @TD205  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching! The job was completed for me. Old tire removed, new tire installed. The video has helped several others. If I can help 1 person, I'm cool with it. There was no need to show me removing my pipes. The belt all you do is carry it over the pulley which is simple. If you have a video I'll watch it.

    Great vid. How did you set up the bike to lift it and set up the jack stands?

    • @TD205
      @TD205  Před 2 lety +1

      I actually put the floor jack on the lower center rear frame. Jacked it up and use the jack stands for extra support. Thanks for watching!!!👍🏿

    • @TD205
      @TD205  Před 2 lety +1

      @@cptpapa No problem. I believe so, at least I did. You have to get your axle bolts completely out.👌🏿

    • @cptpapa
      @cptpapa Před 2 lety

      @@TD205 so what part of the underside did you place the floor jack? I am having a rough go at it and can’t get the bike to balance. Also how do you have the front tire set up? Thank you!

    • @TD205
      @TD205  Před 2 lety

      @@cptpapa Put your jack stand in the center of the bikes frame. Right in front of the rear tire. Lean the bike straight up. Then pump your jack up. The front tire should be stable once bike is off the ground. If not put 2 cinder blocks, 2x4 or something on each side of the front tire. Rear end of the bike should lift straight up.

    Use a mallet,not a hammer! Or a little peace of wood between. You'll be glad you didn't screw up the threads!
